Detailed Reviews
when my friend and i got to moalboal, we did search about 5 places before deciding on a place to stay. this place was decent, i was staying in room F (i guess thats the biggest room) and it had a lovely view to it. TV was working (awesome), but however the air conditioning wasnt. you need to ask for the password to the wifi too.
the owner was friendly, funny and has quite an interesting character.
the only downside was that my friend whom was living in room E had quite a few bed bug bites, so ....let the owner know about that!
also, check out the restaurant at the end when you turn right. it has the best price for food and drinks. when diving, choose nelson's diving school (cheapest fare around)

+1
Anthony Beach Resort is the place I wanted to buy, but my Australian friend Steve beat me to it. The location in central Panagsama Beach is perfect. Steve did a fantastic job renovating the property. At just 1,300 pesos (USD$27.00) per night, you can't beat it. Try to call ahead & reserve the upstairs oceanfront suite. It is the best room in the house. Second choice is the downstairs oceanfront suite. There is no tv downstairs, but the stairs lead directly to the beach. From Steve, you can rent a motorbike for 400 pesos for the day. Take a relaxing 45 minute ride to the gorgeous Kawasan Falls. [-----]

Friendly staff and very helpfull. We got ignored in the fancy dive shop across the street and walked over to Anthonys and there we got welcomed and got help renting gear and good tips of places to snorkle. So we came back the day after and snorkled from their backdoor into the water. I cant say enything about the rooms beacause we did not stay there, maybe next time.

This is the only few hotel that is available in agoda at time of my booking for we were in moalboal on the peak season -holy week. A lot of things need place to consider :
1. The bathroom faucet is not working, we do tootbrush using the shower .
2. Slow running water , it takes a while to have for a water to run.
3. Aircondition is really old too noisy and need repairs
4. The bed is very uncomfortable , ants everywhere
5. We stayed here for 2 days and they didnt replace the towel or clean the room
True that this is an affordable place to stay but that should not be an excusse for a poor service and an uncomfortable room , there are some hotel within the area that has same rate but seem better ... I will not stay here again ever !!! , try to find better place ...

You couldn't touch anything without feeling dirty. The sheets, pillows and towels smelt of stale sweat. Even the shower had a spider infestation which would have taken 20 seconds to clean before we arrived but for some reason was left there.
Whilst the balcony has the potential to be good, you were once again left feeling dirty as all of the chair's cushions were covered in stains from the rusting.
Whilst attempting to talk to Anthony to resolve some issues, he shut the door in our face.
When mentioning that we were staying at Anthony's to people in town, a grimace automatically came to their faces. This place has a reputation for being awful so avoid it at all costs.
FYI they don't have working wifi. We ended up being given the password for a neighbours wifi which just about worked. The fridge is also too filthy to keep fresh food in.

We stayed in room 7 and was lovely. The room hasa gorgeousview and the price was very reasonable. There is no more glass door it was redone and is reslly nice. We most loved the wrap around patio with the ourdoor bed perfect for a siesta, the easy chairs, and the outdoortables. Really a lovely sea side corner to relax in. Thank you

I chose room #7 on the top floor because of the wall-to-wall glass sliding doors and the wrap around balcony with the sea view. Since I visited in January, the 4 sea-facing glass doors have been sealed so they cannot be opened, and the other 2 glass doors have been replaced with half-painted wood doors – not at all like what is pictured on the web site.
The knobs on the AC have been removed so it is not possible to adjust the settings unless you brought a pair of pliers with you. The bathroom has an enclosed shower but the floor still gets wet because the sink leaks. The faucet in the sink drips continuously and you could have bets as to how long it will take the sink to drain. You also will have fun trying to flush the toilet. There is hot water in the shower but not the sink. The towels are thin. Besides toilet paper, there are no bathroom amenities – no soap, no shampoo, not even a glass. The web site advertises satellite TV but was not available. When I informed Anthony that the DVD played did not work, his response was that the previous occupant must have broken it – I wonder how long he has been using that line. Overall the place looks and feels dirty, and you get the impression that management’s philosophy is to get the guests’ money and do as little as possible in return.

I stayed for a couple of days while diving. The main reason being that the view from the balcony room (E) is great and because it is comparatively quiet. But frankly I only stayed on for lack of alternative.
The rooms are spacious but in my opinion urgently need a refurbishment and some upgrades to keep competitive. Lighting in the room is insufficient. Water pressure is too low to properly take a shower (I took mine usually in the dive centre).
There is AC, fan, mini-fridge and TV. Free wifi is available, but reception is limited to balcony and close to the balcony door inside the room.
At night there is no security guard like in other places, but the front door can be locked. Breakfast was not included like in other places with similar pricing. I had to actively ask for cleaning and towel/linen change and had to be present during the cleaning. I was asked for advance payment which is not common in the places, where my friends stayed - same price range
Altogether I probably wouldn't come again.

While it's not the Taj Mahal, the seaside location, veranda and view are superb especially for the price. I posted a video on Youtube: Great room in Moalboal. On a return trip I again stayed in Room F and found that the Veranda was enlarged. The other rooms seem nice too. Steve, the owner is a very nice guy and always seeks to accommodate.
Hot water in the shower, WiFi, refrigerator and cable TV worked fine. There are many small restaurants and dive shops right outside but it's quiet in the room.
Moalboal is a great small resort area minus the big resorts.
There was some construction in the next property but they are moving fast and should be done soon.
