Our family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights. The room was fine- a little dark and dated- but reasonable clean with comfortable beds and a fridge/aircon. Stunning pool- warmed by the sun. Pretty basic breakfast- with you choosing a ‘plate’- eg pancakes. But that was it. Just the pancake- No fruit etc. Lovely juices. Great location- an easy 30min walk to the ‘beach’- which had many restaurants to choose from.
The cheesecake and coffee were excellent! Normally this is the best restaurant in Moalboal ... but something bad happened on December 31. Fajitas were stir fried shrimp with salsa and no tortillas. The beef bbq could not be eaten. Marinating beef, even the local beef, is easy. Staff were apologizing before complaints could be voiced. Three hours for a disappointing meal at 1000 per customer. That can kill a restaurant these days. It's really sad because this is normally the best in Moalboal. But the coffee and cheesecake were spectacular!
Me, my wife and daughter went her for dinner on the 30th December. We haven't had chance to eat out for a while as I have been busy working. The waiters were amazing, they made a big effort to make my wife and daughter very comfortable.we ordered our food and it was all served at the same time with in 20 minutes. I got the special burger and for me it is the best burger in Moalboal right now (yes I have tried every burger here ). The owner is very nice and made a big effort to welcome us. If you are in Moalboal I highly recommend eating here. Thank you garden village.
The French Onion soup could be cut in half, Literally, The chewy beef bbq was inedible, the Mexican Shrimp Fajitas came without tortilla and they said it was a special variation of the dish, this was Philippine style shrimp with rice. The price was high and we expected at least reasonable standard for this but we were all really disappointed. Both my family and my friends family all feel the same way. We waited two hours from our starter to our main course. The waiter tried to say that we had to tell him we wanted our next course., which was his excuse for forgetting us.When the waiter gave me the bill I asked to see the owner three times and he told me the owner was busy cooking. I told the waiter don’t worry and showed him my trip advisor post, He said he would get the owner, The owners wife came but did nothing to resolve the situation, The Chef came and tried to make excuses about the beef. After all this the owner would still not come and talk to me! What does that tell you? To sum up the food this was Eatery quality food with false advertising at10x the price. This was a bad joke and no one is laughing. It does get much worse. First and last trip to a garden Village for me.....…
Highly recommend. Price for accommodation was reasonable and a good value for money. Rooms were very clean and nice. Resort was very nicely groomed. Pool was perfect. The restaurant on the resort was delicious (though it was pricey). The staff were absolutely wonderful. The road leading to the resort is bumpy and not groomed, but don’t fear, because once you get to the resort, everything looks beautiful. Location was perfect because nearby beaches and restaurants were easily accessible, yet it was nice being away from all the noise. Resort had a bunch of activities such as darts, pool, ping pong, and bocce.
We stayed in Garden Village for two nights and had a good time. The staff, especially the bartender by the pool and the lady in the cafe, were friendly and we even met the owner who was also friendly and polite—he even taught us how to play pétanque! It is along the main road but quite far from the hustle and bustle of Panagsama beach; nevertheless, it is accessible and known by drivers. You must also pass a dirt path from the main road in order to enter the resort but it can be walked through, you just pass a few local houses. It is a nice place to stay for families because you can chill by the pool or in the garden area outside your rooms, plus there are games you can play like pool, ping-pong, and pétanque! The food was alright; we were excited to try their homemade croissants for breakfast but we were underwhelmed because it wasn't crunchy but soggy.…
We initially booked to stay for 3 nights but decided to stay a couple more days as we liked the place. Our room had two large double beds with air con and a ceiling fan. The buildings are quite new, perfectly adequate and unlike most other places we stayed in the Philippines had ample power sockets. We had a small front garden with seating area out front and an on site swimming pool and cafe/bar which served breakfast/ lunch /dinners. There’s table tennis and a pool table on offer. The staff are very friendly and helpful and you can hire scooters on site to get you to the beach or town both of which are less than 5 minutes away.
I had a great stay experience at garden village. The place was clean and tidy and the hosts were extremely nice and facilitating. The pool was a good size and there was a nice patio to relax at night. They also assisted us in organising our daily activities. 5/5 rating
I think that the location is pretty good, if you have a motorbike. About 5min ride to the panagsaman beach. Breakfast is okay, but could be better. The rooms are pretty new and nice, good value for your money. The wifi is terrible, and it works only in the rooms. They dont clean the rooms, if you dont ask them to do that. Also the place is pretty noisy, but it depens on your room neihgbours. We had some youngsters who were drinking and having fun till the morning. I would recommend this place to my friends if they would stay in moalboal.
We’re a young couple who booked to stay here for five nights as part of a longer trip away. We were looking forward to a rest. Firstly - you must check if building works are taking place before you arrive. We were not told about these but there is not a chance you are chilling by the pool during the day as the building work takes place from 7am - 5pm in front of the pool. There are about twelve workers at a time using hammers - drills etc etc. The attached photos are not an exaggeration. It would make more sense for this place to be closed whilst this is taking place as it can’t function as a hotel with a pool as advertised. The location is poor if you want to be close to Pangsama Beach. The entrance to the hotel is down a dirt path which looks as though it is being used as a farm - we wouldn’t walk to walk down this at night especially with children. There are dogs down the dirt track and a lot of them look unwell. Adding to this - the walk to the beach is around thirty minutes down a busy road and is unpleasant to say the least so you will need to get a trike to and from the beach at all times unless hiring a bike. The rooms are nice but the bed is not comfy and has the thinnest sheet instead of a duvet which isn’t ideal for two people. The internet is useless. The electric and water stopped working on our final day - apparently this impacted the whole town but a generator should be in place for the prices being paid. Staff at the cafe were brilliant and couldn’t have been more attentive. It’s a really nice touch having this on site and the wine was good . …
