. I am not a big fan of Moalboal but i am a fan of this resort and the diving in Moalboal . The Staff in the resort are amazing they all learn the name of their guests they are friendly , courteous and efficient . The cooks are good which is pretty rare in regions of the Philippines and the rooms are clean and well maintained . The location of the resort is perfect as it is nice and isolated , the grounds of the Resort are impeccable and the pool is huge . This is my best dive operation in country and after nearly thirty years of diving an operation that stands out as one of the best i have ever dived with , They are disciplined , organised and very professional . Being also a tech center they are also dealing with a lot of Advanced divers and like myself we just hate sloppy operations , This is not the case at Kasai .The boats are not overcrowded and guides are paired with divers depending on their experience so if you are advanced you are not going to be paired with a novice diver , Allen normally guides me and is a great spotter of subjects for me to photograph and he is a great bloke . Kasai Diving is having said all this a little bit more expensive than some of the other dive operations in Moalboal but hey if you want to pay peanuts you are gonna get monkeys as i did once when i dived with a different operator in the area ( never again ) I take my hat off to The General manger Michael and his team you guys are doing an epic job and i will see you after the Lockdown

Excellent dive center with the most competent and service-minded dive instructors/masters, even for advanced technical diving. The guides know every secret hideaway for shrimps, scorpionfish as well moray eels. The center has perhaps the quietest and biggest dive boat in Moalboal, which can hold 20-some divers for two dives and even has a toilet (Philippine standard). This gives you plenty of space to move around since we were never close to full. The house reef is a great spot!

The resort is very functional and of a good standard and clean. Really nice pool area, great AC in the rooms, and the sea rooms give you a spectacular view of the sunset with a cold one from the fridge next to you. Not the fastest but nicest bar and restaurant staff. Overall good food with some delicious favorites (spring rolls, chicken noodles, and hot gambas). Kasai Village Dive Resort comes with my highest recommendations! (We were a group of nine Swedish divers staying for 11 nights).

My husband and I decided to check out the Kasai Dive Resort but did not dive this trip. Surprisingly, this resort is also really great for snorkelling as the house reef boasts a a really beautiful coral garden which is also rich in marine life. We saw about 6 turtles one of the days while snorkelling, alongside baby squid and a variety of small fishes. During low tide while exploring, we spotted a blue ring octopus. The only downside is that there are quite a number of jellyfishes so def cover up. The room was basic but comfortable and staff friendly. Overall a great experience.

We confirmed our airport pick up service via email a week before our trip. To our surprise, no one was there to pick us up at the airport. Even more surprisingly, when I called the hotel, staff explained that my travel agency (agoda) did not book me in for transfer service. I then provided her with the date on which confirmation was done via email, and they finally located the record and told me to wait for a while for the driver to call. The driver never called. During my 2-hour wait for any driver to arrive, I called the hotel 5 times and they declined my call. Driver finally arrived after 2 hours. We were not happy but at least accepted that the hotel offered a discount for the pick up service.

Throughout our stay, staff was not helpful at all. We needed to split our 1000 pesos notes in order to pay the tricycle driver, but staff would never help and claimed they had no cash. I wonder how they had so much cash to give us as change when we settled our room bill.

Response from tobiasvahlund, Manager at Kasai Village Dive Resort
Responded Feb 24, 2020
Dear Valued Guest, We are very sorry to hear that our services did not live up to your expectations during your stay. The service provided by our staff is something we feel we've always been good at and also been taking a great pride in. Therefore this is something we take very serious and have now issued a full investigation to make sure we can improve and also prevent it from happening again. There are 2 points I would like to address to clarify so that you may have a better understanding for why some things may have been as it was. Firstly, I would like to repeat what our reception staff so kindly tried to explain regarding the cash change. In the Philippines in general and especially in rural areas such as Moalboal there is limited access to cash change. Therefore we reserve all cash change for settling room bills upon check-out when it is extra limited. Unfortunately this was one of those rare occasions when you needed change for your Tricycle ride. The reception simply didn't have any. We are at the moment reviewing different options to avoid having the same problem again but for the time being we encourage all travellers to bring small bills for change prior to arrival since this is not just a problem for us at Kasai Village but also in the whole area. Getting cash in the bigger cities is much easier. Finally regarding your transfer we are truly sorry for the 1 hour delayed pick up. It was a human error and we take full responsibility for it. That's why we compensated you by deducting 50% of the transfer price and also offering you complimentary Spa treatments upon arrival. We were very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Spa treatments and also that you were happy for the compensation of the transfer as you so kindly expressed to our staff when they asked you about how your stay was. It is now clear for us that you felt this was not enough and also that we in general did not live up to your expectations. Since we always try to deliver the highest standard in delivering our services and to accommodate our guests in the best possible way we feel that we have failed in our delivery. New routines have been put in place to make sure these errors is corrected and also to assure we can keep our promises and commitments. We hope that you will find our services to be improved and meeting all your expectations if you decide to come back. Thank you for choosing Kasai Village Dive Resort! We hope to see you soon again. Kind regards, Tobias & the Kasai Village Team

The place was not easy to find and access, but with phone GPS we managed to guide the driver successfully. Staff was Friendly, helpful, flexible, discrete and professional. Rooms are not luxurious but some of them do offer enjoyable terrace with great seaviews. Relaxing atmosphere throughout the resort. Not far from island hopping, tortoise watching and kawasan waterfall canyoneering activities. Overall, good value for money. Recommended!

I had discover scuba experience last year and planned to maybe do another discover scuba dive one day. Had doubts if ever again. However, when we were in Moalboal my husband proposed to give me open water diver as a gift. I took the opportunity and researched the options. I chose Kasai dive center despite higher than average price because of the great feedbacks left about the instructor Joselito (Tata) Cabaron.

I must say it was an excellent choice. This instructor really makes the difference. Very professional and adjusts to the student. He really addressed all my worries, supported me in theory learning and most importantly gave me the skills and the confidence to dive. He is exceptional. If you are considering getting certified – plan and make sure to book this instructor. It is a crucial choice.

As a student I had lots of worries and concerns but after the course I had another 2 dives at different locations, and it felt great. I had the skills to address all the circumstances (current, breathing regulator pushed out of my mouth by another diver accidentally, lower visibility, different equipment…). Long story short: if you are lucky to be in Moalboal reach to Kasai in advance and book Joselito Tata Cabaron. Thank me later.

The staff at Kasai were fantastic. The room was clean and there was adequate hot water. This is not a four or five star resort, but it is manageable and probably one of the best in Moalboal. The pool was not usable during our stay and that was a detractor. There is really no place to walk at or around the resort and the roads leading to it are rough. A couple of days here to dive the sardine run are about all that is needed. The dive masters were professional and courteous.

We knew that in December a terrible typhoon had destroyed this coast, yet we were amazed at the damage. The resort is in a beautiful location for divers. As a non-diver I would not readily advise staying here.

During our stay the pool and bar could not be used. The end of the pier is also damaged and unusable. The fully renovated boat was already ready, but was not yet usable due to missing inspection.

Unfortunately there were only a few guests during our stay. This is very luxurious for diving, but feels a bit pathetic for staff (in restaurant) who are available all day for you. Incredibly nice and helpful staff. Divemasters are top notch.

Up to 5 meters all coral is destroyed. Snorkeling on the house reef is therefore not very exciting. On the other hand, the night dive was great.
The resort will be back to full strength soon. Support the staff and come here to enjoy a nice stay and beautiful diving on the coast and at Pescador Island.

Excellent place with a superb sunset view, probably the best in moalboal. the place is great and all the staff go out of their way to make sure you are supported for all the needs at the resort and for your holiday in general. The rooms are spacious and convenient. The only thing missing is... more visitors. Thanks to the entire team for making our stay such a pleasure. We will surely be back:-)

The rooms are ok. AC is good. Lots of space. The shower section is the largest shower I've ever seen in a resort! Unfortunately with the weakest piddly shower. The food is expensive for the area and a bit limited. The chef did the best he could with what he had. I don't think they get a lot of visitors since the typhoon so they aren't fully stocked. Breakfast was not much. A lot of the place is still recovering from the typhoon. The swimming pool is out of action, as is the spa. The "beach" isn't up to much. It's just some sand plonked behind the sea wall, separated from the sea by barbed wire. The jetty at the end of the pier has collapsed. Lots of small buildings have been damaged by the typhoon. The road that leads to the resort is very bad. A good way to test your 4x4. Don't take your sports car down there, the underside wouldn't survive the trip! Once they have rebuilt the place it will be better, but for now I wouldn't recommend it unless you were just interested in the diving.
