Let me start by saying the journey across from Cebu City is a pain, roads are twisty, dangerous and nauseating, and it seems to take forever, where as in reality 3 hrs tops. Pulled up outside the Cabana resort at half nine at night, it looked a bit deserted until a security guard popped out of nowhere. We checked in and was shown to our room which had two beds and a camp bed out on the balcony. It was obvious to the security guard we couldn't stay in that room so he put us across the way in the family room which had four beds and was much more spacious. Whilst we were here less than half the rooms appeared to be in use. We spent most of the day diving so used it more as a base than anything. Quite odd was the fact despite being 3 of us in the family room (which sleeps 4) we only got two breakfasts next door, the third one we had to pay for !!! The hotel was clean enough and right on the sea front with a little pier and small patch of sand with sun beds on. Pretty good all in all, could do with a lick of paint here and there but hey it’s the Philippines. Gardens are maintained well and you’re treated well. Security guy is always there and will help you if he can. The hotel arranged for us to visit Oslob to dive with the Whale sharks. They also had no problems with us cutting our stay short by a day for no extra cost. Would defiantly stay here again but think the weather makes all the difference here in Moalboal much more than other places.

Oh yeah there is a cracking bakery right opposite the resort which does lovely buns, rolls and cakes, check it out

My wife and I just returned from 2 fantastic weeks in the Philippines. The first 5 days we stayed at the Cabana Beach Club Resort in Cebu. The only negative thing about this place is that it is 3 hours by car from the airport. It's a nice drive through different towns and such, but can be a bit of a hike for some.
The Cabanas here are simple and quaint, but very nice. They have A/C. It's a small resort with only about 8 units, so we liked the quiet atmosphere. Our original room had a nice porch facing the courtyard, and we could see the ocean. We managed to upgrade on our second day to a beachfront cabana (#10). This was fantastic, with a view of the ocean right from our bed (although a queen bed instead of the 2 singles pushed together would have been better). The row of 3 cabanas in this section had a nice sand area for relaxing with a few steps down to the ocean. The private pier was a great place for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The end of the pier has what appears to be a bar set up, but it was not in use when we were there. There was also a "common" area in the sand under a canopy where we could sit out of the sun. The pool was nice as well.
Our stay included breakfast daily. It was simple, but good. They served it to us right on our porch. The staff was very polite, and helpful. We were able to exchange traveler's cheques in the office, albeit at a lower rate than in Boracay. Still, the convenience factor made it worth it. The maids did an excellent job cleaning our room. There was also a security guard on site 24/7.
The snorkeling right off the beach was quite good. There were many fish, and some nice, live coral. The shelf drops off quite deep at the end of the pier and there would often be divers stopped there for awhile. We even saw a sea turtle swim past us while sitting on the end of the pier!
The area is nice. Not too busy (although there are a few pretty funky looking bars). It may be busier earlier in the season, but it wasn't during our stay. Clearly, this area caters to divers. Every place along the coast seemed to be affiliated with some type of dive group. The resort is very close to many small bars, restaurants, and some shops. There was a small convenience store right outside the resort where we could buy water, beer, wine, and snacks.
Overall, we would certainly recommend this resort if you want to stay in Cebu, but away from the really busy areas near Cebu City. Excellent value for the money.

From the moment I walked through the rod iron gate I was in love. Cabana over looks the ocean with quaint rooms and a comfortable atmosphere. There were 10 rooms in total, each having a small deck area to relax or hang out with friends. The rooms were very comfortable and offered plenty of space for two.

The staff was very friendly and willing to help in any way possible. Being at Cabana was relaxing and we always felt safe. Wi-if was available but only had a good signal on the beach. (Darn!!) Walking to the end of the pier would allow you to see the reef and the drop off. Absolutely breathtaking views each sunrise and sunset.

Cabana is attached to an Italian restaurant which was one of the most efficient restaurants in town. With our package with Cebu Dive Centre, we were able to have free breakfast everyday.

hotel location is great - lovely view of the sea by the hotel restaurant. water is good enough to snorkel with the abundant marine life. one less than ideal thing are the mosquitoes in the room so bring repellents or the likes! staff are friendly throughout. overall a good stay.

With only 10 rooms and three which face the ocean, I found this small get-a-way to be just what I was expecting. I stayed in the Ocean view room which included two single beds pushed together, a large balcony (with table, chairs and extra lounging area and mattress), AC (noisy), fan (noisy), TV w/sat, a small frig (e.g.mini bar) and hot water in the shower.

I was here for 6 days to scuba dive so the room was not 4 star but comfortable. The room was cleaned, towels replaced daily and bedding every other day. Staff attempted to solve my complaints concerning the ceiling fan which was on constant HIGH setting with no options... either on or off and were pleasant and friendly.

Breakfast was served next door in the restaurant, once again basic but totally acceptable. The street outside of the hotel is lined with tricycle drivers looking for a tourist to bit for a trip into the city or to the waterfalls and while most were friendly it can be a bit pressuring.

Many choices for eating within a short walk, the longest being 5mins on a well defined path.

Overall I will come back again as it was a mostly quiet (room 10 can get noisy due to scuba tanks being hauled to the boats on Monday morning),relaxing and generally a stressless experience.

We stayed here for over a week during our diving holiday. We have no major complaints about the place, but it seems relatively overpriced compared to similar accommodations in the area and SE Asia in general. Our room faced the ocean and the beautiful sunset. The room included fan, A/C, cable TV (didn't always work) and minibar, and there was WiFi but the signal did not reach my room. We also had access to the pool and breakfast at the Italian place next door. The place was relatively secluded, and small (10 rooms) which was very nice, and the staff was helpful (arranging transport, massage, early breakfast, etc.).

This resort is in Panagsama Beach, a few minutes away from Moalboal town. Panagsama Beach is basically a small strip of small hotels, dive shops, restaurants and bars, with a high number of foreigners living or traveling there. When we were there (April-May), it was quiet and pleasant to stroll down the village and seeing familiar faces (and dogs). We went diving every day, and I wouldn't know what else to do there.

visited moalboal for 6 days, didnt book with Cabana and first, the original booking is too disappointing so that we decide to look around and check in with Cabana.

stayed in the Seaview Suite (rm. 1), spacious, good view with the sunset and have the less noise from the mainroad.

Very comfortable cottages/rooms. They have cabanas right at the beach front which was the perfect location for you to be serenaded by the waves. Staff were very accommodating and warm. You would get value for what you pay for, as they also have complimentary breakfasts, access to their swimming pool. Menu was pretty broad & includes both Italian cuisines & Filipino food to suit one's taste. Their little pier with a gazebo was the perfect place to observe the coral reefs & you can clearly see fishes swimming beneath. Wifi was pretty bad, but didn't really matter as the beach was what we came for. They have a good location, as they are near clubs, restos & dive centers.

Very comfortable cottages set along the water with a nice ocean view. The free breakfast adds to the value of your stay and overall the attached restaurant is quite good and reasonably-priced. There are several restaurants/bars, "hotels", and dive-shops in the area with a decent night-life for the area. Even with the activity close by they Cabana cottages are quiet and peaceful with the sound of ocean waves. I have stayed at Cabana several times over the past two years, and while the rooms are well kept and comfortable and in general quiet - I have stayed in a room where the ceiling fan and air-conditioner were a bit noisy (although not loud enough to cause me to lose sleep). I am sure the staff would have allowed me to switch rooms if available, but as I said - it was not that big of a deal to me. Overall, this has been my favorite place to stay in Moalboal with good accomadations at a reasonable price.

Cabana is a small resort with a pool, restaurant, and rooms. The resort has 3 premium rooms that face the ocean, which is where I stayed. The view is gorgeous and you have a balcony where you can sit and watch the sun set.

The rooms are your basic amenities: 2 twin beds (mattress and pillows are OK), Air Conditioning, bathroom with a shower, TV (with really nothing to watch), and a mini-bar.

The hotel is very good, especially when compared to others nearby. The price is fantastic (we paid about $40/night). But do not expect the Ritz or Hilton. These hotels are made for one purpose, for people to come and Scuba Dive.

The location puts you within walking distance (5 min) of about 20 scuba dive shops. (I would recommend Cebu Dive Centre)

Hi, I'm going there in Dec staying in Cabana Beach Resort. This stretch of seafront will allow you to see sardines run already. Last Nov, I was in Cebu/Moalboal/Bohol and had been there for snorkeling. Really depend what interest you. Planet Action Adventure has the best canyon abseiling with their own licensed experience trainer guides. You may get a taxi from airport. But I'm using back my last Nov same private driver (sedan car). W.Shark - take a taxi there and pay Php1,100 entrance fee as I heard. Tour pkg to Oslob is not so worth it.
