The checkin was on point, room was ok, breakfast amazing, shared roof top spacers have great sunset views. The room wasn’t really cleaned daily. Just new towels/coffee. Bed wasn’t even straightened up as we pull it up ourselves every morning anyway. The second day the room wasn’t done at all (we where out for 6 hours), so we went down to ask if it could be done while we went to the pool. All the cleaners where sitting around and didn’t seem interested. The floor definitely wasn’t cleaned, every night we brushed off our feet to get into bed. We are two girls, very tidy and I think the cleaners took advantage of that. Checkin was super informative, the head gentleman was amazing giving a detailed map with recommendations of the island then organising a transfer in the morning to the airport. The breakfast chef made a great spread. Everything Greek style! So much breakfast cake, who doesn’t love breakfast cake. We are with intrepid and had originally requested a balcony room, that wasn’t communicated with the hotel, or there wasn’t one available when we got there, either way that was disappointing. Highs: concierge, views and breakfast staff, Lows: cleaning standards.…
We absolutely loved our stay. Every detail of this hotel is so beautiful. Staff was fantastic, room excellent and the views are incredible. Breakfast was really really good. The cook works really hard does a great job. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will miss this place a lot.
Just returned from a short stay and was pleasantly surprised. Have been going to Mykonos for many years now and know what standard to expect from hotels but was pleasantly surprised by the Madalena. Location is excellent and within easy walking distance of the old town and does not involve walking up the steep hills. Views are perfect and can watch the sunsets from your rooms. Rooms were clean and good size and good selection at continental/buffet breakfast (much better than other hotels). Would happily return in future.
I stayed here for 2 nights with my partner during the first week of September and could not have made a better decision. We booked quite late in advance (about 4 days prior to when we were arriving) and they were able to secure a standard double room with a sea view. We considered AirBnbs but Hotel Madalena was so much more worth it. Prices were very good for Mykonos, considering amenities, distance to Mykonos town, the great service and the time of the year. Our flight to Mykonos landed late at 10pm but we were still able to arrange for a free shuttle service to the hotel in a very nice small modern coach (great air conditioning and clean). On arrival, we were greeted by one of the managers/owners with fresh orange juice. He talked us through the formalities first, then gave us a very thorough guide of what to do in Mykonos. Him and the team are very knowledgable in how to get around the island via public transport, as well as recommendations on best places to go depending on what sort of holiday you are after (e.g. nightlife, food, where to see the sunsets, etc.). All the staff were also very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Our room had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It had slippers, a complementary 1l bottle of water every day, a Nespresso machine, kettle, a small high table (where you can do some light work), a television, quiet air conditioning, lovely bedsheets, and a fairly large built-in wardrobe. It was incredibly clean and soothing with white stone tiles - I felt I could walk without slippers on. The bathroom was amazing with lovely toiletries made from olive oil and an amazing shower tower panel with very powerful pressure (an issue I heard that Mykonos has with some of the traditional houses in the town is the lack of water pressure). Again, incredibly clean. Outside our room there is a big terrace where the guests can have breakfast whilst enjoying the spectacular views over the old town and the old port. Because we are slightly higher up, the sea breeze was also lovely. One evening, we also sat on the terrace and did a bit of work which was quiet and quite romantic with the lights and view. The pool is small but sufficient to cool off during the hot afternoons. The communal areas were all very clean. The breakfast in the morning is pretty standard but offered quite a wide selection of food, from continental to some Greek traditional dishes such as feta and spinach filo parcels. Very filling! The location was perfect for us (we are young, in our mid-late twenties). It is less than 5 minutes walk downhill to the edge of the town (marked by gates), and 10 minutes walk to the main nightlife district, Little Venice, and 15 minutes to the main bus terminal, Fabrika. Walking back to the hotel was a bit harder as it requires you to go uphill but it was fine for us and helped to offset some of the food we'd been eating. The only downside was that our room was directly walking onto the terrace so in the morning we could hear other guests having breakfast and talking. However, it was always with very light voices and did not cause much of an issue (I am a very light sleeper). You could ask to have a room further away from the rooftop terrace but would require climbing a few more steps and I am not sure if the views would have been the same. Throughout the night, it was VERY quiet. We were a bit late checking out by an hour or so, and we were not excessively rushes as we have been with other place. We also booked a ferry from Mykonos to Santorini very late/early morning the night before our check out and had not arranged a free shuttle transport from the hotel to the port with the staff until about 1.5 hours before we were scheduled to leave. However, the team were very accommodating and tried to make it work. All in all, we could not have asked for a better stay.…
This hotel was the highlight of our booked Intrepid tour. We were picked up by the hotel shuttle at the Ferry and driven about 10 minutes to the hotel. Our rooms were ready when we arrived. We had room 526 which was high up so you do have to climb some stairs. Your effort is rewarded with the most amazing view. We had our own deck and balcony. The room itself was smaller but the shower was on the bigger side. The bed was comfy but we had to move the single beds together to form a King size bed. The room was clean and the staff was nice. We received a 3L bottle of water per day which was complimentary and breakfast was included. The breakfast was buffet which was a nice change from breakfast boxes. They were a little lax on the COVID-19 protocols on Mykonos. The hotel's breakfast area is outdoors so it was nice to watch the boats come and go while eating. The hotel is located about 15 minutes walking from the main part of town. I liked that it was a bit away from the busy part of town. The bus stops can be found in town so if you wanted to travel to one of the many beaches, you could grab a bus ticket for 1.60 euro (one-way). Our room was comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely stay here again if I returned.…
Stayed from 22 - 30 August 2020. Fantastic and spotless room with an incredible sunset/sea view, very friendly and helpful stuff who couldn’t do enough for us and a lovely breakfast each day. Highly recommended, thank you.
Really lovely place to stay!! The views are breath taking and the service is out of this world! The staff are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. The rooms are very clean and the swimming is great after a long day at the beach.
I stayed here with my Intrepid group for 2 nights and the hotel staff stored our luggage as our rooms weren't ready when we arrived. The staff moved our luggage into our rooms when they were ready for us. It was a lovely hotel with beautiful views of the cruise ships and the port. It's a small hotel with only 26 rooms spread out over several different levels with terraces and lounge chairs. The pool was a perfect spot to relax and refresh especially after walking up the steep hill to get back from the shops. It is a 10 min walk into the town to see shops and restaurants along a narrow road and steep hill. My roommate and I lucked out and got a large room that was super comfortable with huge shower. Free breakfast had a large selection of food and there were plenty of fresh options. The staff were very welcoming. It was so peaceful to stay at and I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Mykonos…
What a beautiful view the Madalena Hotel has!! The perfect location from where you can watch cruise liners and ships in the ocean anchored close by. Very friendly staff was so helpful. Just 26 rooms on different levels with terraces and lounge chairs. The free breakfast was very good, great selection. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Not far from the town where there was so much to see. We did not mind getting a little exercise when coming up the hill on our return back to the hotel. What a peaceful place to stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Mykonos.
