Detailed Reviews
We just booked this beach on the day we wanted to go to a beach, and it had a vacant room near the beach with 2 double beds. If you want a beach get-away that is just near Manila, and have small kids, this is a good solution.
Friendly staff welcome you and say goodbye to you when it is time to go.
Room 1B is a bungalow with its own veranda. The room is small, just enough to accommodate 2 beds. Room is just so near the beach. Pool is also just small. Has a nice playground kids will love. Package comes with 3 sets of meals- breakfast, lunch and dinner, so the rate is actually good.Make sure to fall in line fast for food when they begin to serve food at the Pavilion.

This review is quite delayed, stayed here sometime last year. Had a 2 bedroom bungalow beachfront...bungalow is not bad, it is however difficult to find food here, so we brought our own as we could use the bbq grills. stayed for a night and the beach was not bad, view was beautiful, to wake up in the morning and look at the sea is just amazing...best to the the beachfront cottage!

it's my mom's birthday and her wish is for our family to have an out of town trip preferably in the beach. all in all we are 25 persons. 15 adults, 10 kids. So, i searched for the internet nearest white beach resort from manila. then we end up in this place. Sabangan beach resort and how we really wish we did not stay here. why?
1. online booking: impolite agent
2. dirty place trus me! you would not want to touch anything.
3. bed bugs!!!
4. i thought its cheap but when i started to compare it with nearby beaches, its kinda pricey.
5. uncoordinated, impolite staff! some of then dont know what they are doing.
6. dirty pool not as fancy as the picture shows
7. frogs all over the place.
8. very dark
9. their umbrellas at the shore dont have lights, so its not advisable to stay there during night.
10. worst rice ever!
11. loitering dogs
on the other hand, there is still a positive side,
1. the beach is great! and clean!
2. the weather is cozy
3. quiet place
that's all. hehe :)

We spent 2 nights at this resort, encouraged by the recommendation via tripadvisor and some other google searches. When we arrived we liked the place, the nature, friendly staff and the houses (from the outside). Soon we discovered that this resort is basic and far too expensive for what they offer. I have to admit, we took the most expensive unit near the beach with two bedrooms and a bathroom; kitchen, ref etc and sitting area outside covered by a roof. Price approx PHP10,500.00 of this unit (over 200 USD).
The bedrooms were stuffy: most likely not been opened since the previous guests; the sheets on the beds smelled stuffy as well - I didn't enjoy my nights there..... The interior of all rooms was badly maintained: you could see however that there were better times.... The toilet in the bathroom had constantly running water; the tap in the bathroom was loose, so whenever you wanted to open the tap you had to hold it with two hands.
Restaurant? Yes... but please... don't call it a 'restaurant'. It opened when more guests arrived. Poor menu, however what they had tasted ok. Newly build swimmig pool? Same story: we could use it when more guests arrived on Saturday, but the water was too warm and not clean. It is located in the middle of the property: it would have been so much nicer to build it at the place where their restaurant is... a missed opportunity to upgrade the resort....
Now, is it all bad? No, the place is ok when you come here with a group and share the expenses, but for a family it is way to expensive for what you get.... It is a Filipino style resort: you bring your food and cook yourself.
The neighbours have a resort as well (Acuatico) that is slightly more expensive (12K) but you get quality and a clean and modern resort with everything you want for a 2 days trip .... We ended up eating there (since the restaurant was not open in Sabangan...) and enjoying nice shakes there...
Besides all this we had to deal every 10 min on the beach with vendors, who, yes, need to make their living, but the idea of going out for 2 days is to relax and not to be bothered too often. "Foreigners" find it annoying to be bothered all day by vendors. "Acuatico" made sure that no vendors were allowed on 'their' beach.
Conclusion: As a family with two children I wouldn't choose to come back because of the expense for what you get. This place has potential, but the owners should invest to make it a 2010 style resort - meaning, people nowadays want to pay, but expect value for their money.

This resort is pretty basic, but clean enough with only a small beach front. Design or ambience wise, it is just regular, in fact it feels sort of like a DIY project, but dont get me wrong, its not so bad. I wouldn't mind going here for a day trip or company outing.
The good thing about this place, is that it is a short distance from Manila, and the prices are quite reasonable. You are not obliged to avail of resort prepared food. Depending on what type of (beach) traveller you are, this could be either good or bad. Well its good in the sense that you get to save a lot, and eat what you want, but if you are too lazy, this is not the place for you, although maybe you can talk to the staff to cook for you. About the beach, its whitish but really pebbly, and there arent that many fish if you swim around the area of the resort.
The place is ok for a quick day trip or maybe even overnight, and they do allow pets if you ask permission, so this is good too.

I took my family of 10 adults and at least 6 children, and I have to adjust the dates of my review because it was back in 2012. Things probably have changed, but I need to share some of my experience to help other customer. I am not picky, but for the price I have to pay, I think they could do better. We got to the resort late in the afternoon, and I understand that most of the staff probably have left. Checking in was a little complicated because somehow our cottage was not ready even though it was past 1400. When we got to our cottage, there were lots of black ants that looks like left over foods were just picked up. I do not mind the ants, but it looks like the staff were not great at keeping up their cottage for insect control. If I am not mistaken, the pool was not very great either because it was not clean. I felt like someone could have at least clean off the discolored parts of the pool from water molds (if it was what it seems look like). I remember my husband complaining about how we were treated as we check in, but that was all past. Over all, the place was nice and very relaxing especially the little area to the beach. This review may not be very helpful, but one thing I want to advice is to inquire and verify with the staff. Print out your transaction to show what kind of services are included in your purchase. I hope I can help with some take out thoughts.

+1
Since the last time I've been here which was in 2010, the placed improved so much! They now serve food, modernized general areas, now has a buffet place, and clean patios.
It maintains the simple but exclusive feel - You know you're out of town but with the comfort every city dweller looks for.
The main points for me:
PET FRIENDLY
Accommodating Staff
Manager talks to the guests to see if all is good ( Thank you Mr. Nick Tomenio)
Flexible to our needs (4yr old kiddie requests )
Exclusive feel
Crowd control, not over booked
Clean grounds, room, and bathroom
Can bring in food
Cool A/C
Snack shop offers snacks and ice cream
Modest Pool
Simple receiving area at the entrance
Spacious parking area
Place is safe and secure
Areas that can be Improved:
Pathway (adobe bricks)
Beach furniture to be leveled, legs fit for sand
Activity photographers to have their own place rather than compete with guests for beach space, not to mention noise control! Maybe there were just too many of them lounging about...
More variety in their snack shop
More choices in their ala carte menu (some over priced... 1/2 fried children 330php, pancit canton 250php)
Pool needs to be cleaned more often or monitor guest use (water seemed cloudy with sand)
Have a faucet at the entrance fr beach so guests can rinse off excess sand
The rooms are a bit pricey but I think it's the going rate in the area given its location... shares the same beach front as virgin, coco, aquatico, and aqua verde.
I will surely come back to this place with my family including Oli.

We appreciate and happy that everyone of the staff is friendly and they all greeted us with a smile. A plus point also is that they check us in even before the 2pm Check-In time. The ambiance and the bungalow was nice except that the aircon doesn't cool enough so we requested for an electric fan to help keep the room cool but sadly it didn't work :(
The resort will require you to pay for the food packages that they have (Buffet Breakfast, AM Snack, PM Snack and Dinner)...for Lunch, you can either choose from their set meals or go out from the resort and scout for a near by resto. I suggest you do the latter since most of the food they serve lack taste. We were so frustrated coz they let us avail of the food package that comes with our accommodation but most of what they serve us taste like crap. Our worst order for Lunch was a simple Pinakbet-gone-wrong...its tasteless and the veggies was too raw and was hard to bite into so we asked them to re-cook it..after 15 minutes, the taste and the veggies are still the same...we were so disappointed coz it doesn't even justify the cost of P250 per plate..after complaining, we end up not paying for something we cannot eat.

We visited this resort with our relatives including kids from 10 to 18 and adults.
We paid +15,000PHP for a cottage good for 6-8 including snacks and food during the day.
I have to say that the cottage was ok (renovated during March) although the bathroom door didn't open from inside and I got locked in and almost had to break the thin plywood door as the door is too tight and gets stuck from the lower part. The television is almost the size of my cellphone (14" old box). There was no soap in the room and the free water were placed on top of the fridge outside of the front door on the porch to heat up.. who wants to drink cold water huh?
The included free food is not much eatable, if you're foreigner you won't eat, even locals were complaining about the cheap food which is the same every day. And if you won't be in the line right away when the serving starts, the food runs out and then you will wait for 15 minutes for the next ones to arrive. You can also order from the menu, but there is around 6 choices.
The resort staff are pretty much unorganized and lost in their jobs. You can hear the staff complaining in the walkie-talkies that everyone are carrying with them. Reception is incredible, they won't serve you or even give the room keys.. they will just try to find you later.
During our visit, the massage was not available as it's coming from outside the resort and they couldn't be reached. The staff are gossiping about the guests and not minding their own business or actually working.
The beach is clean but they have only few chairs to sit on and even less umbrellas to cover the sunny heat. I wouldn't really recommend this resort to anyone especially as even the locals with us didn't like it.. one of the worst I've seen and there is a lot of other choices in Layia area which are hundred times better.

Gone are all the polish. Strip them all bare and enjoy nature in its simplicity.
I stayed here with my family and we rented three rooms.
Food is good and tasty, but if you are there late, there might not be enough left for you.
They have free fifteen minute massage that's quite useless -- the masseuse was no good and you'll end up frustrated.
Kayaks seems fun but they won't allow you to use it if the wind is strong.
I dislike the beach because it hurts to walk barefoot and the water will suddenly deepen. Wearing aqua shoes is highly recommended.
The Rooms are clean but they give the impression of being dirty. The lights or the beddings used, perhaps? My cousin, Stanley, who is very nitpicky, kept on complaining, saying that booking such a room for more than ten thousand a day is too expensive. I, however, finds it homey and nice.

Directly offered by Sabangan, there is none. However, along the beach area of Sabangan, there are other operators that offer various water activities like banana boat, flying fish, jetski, kayaking, snorkeling, etc.
Yes you can. tho I suggest you book directly thru their website ahead of time to ensure hassle free booking.😊
Please contact the resort directly.
I checked those dates are closed, if dates open, get a 2 bedroom yakal type, 15,000/night includes all meals
