We were invited to go to this resort but we got lost. While most of the resorts in this part of Batangas have prominent signs on the highway, this resort opted to put a small sign beside some huge tarps and used white letters on a yellow background at that. So, it took us two u-turns and 3 stops (to ask for directions) to find the place although we were just a kilometer away from it. (Waze was just about useless here). Once inside the property, we came to one conclusion: the management should seriously consider improving the place. They should begin with the common toilets and shower rooms. And do something to make going to the beach easier - it's far enough from the cottages and it's tough to walk on hot sand. Privacy and security is another thing. Ambulant vendors just come and go inside the resort through the beach area. And invest on a couple of good signages so guests can find it easier. For now, scratching this off our prospective summer outing venues.

The place has a lot of space, but with that it is far from the beach itself also it is near in mangroves, our last experience was bad because of some outsiders were lurking at night and almost took some of our stuff left in the porch of the rooms luckily someone saw the would be thief and was deterred hopefully more security is to be put in place and better illuminate some dark areas of the place.

This resort is inexpensive mainly because you can bring your own food and they even supply the gas and gas stoves. Staff, especially Samuel, are very accommodating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. And only a minutes walk to the beach. The beach is not great, since it has a lot of mangroves (since Nebas follow DNR and protects them, unlike other resorts), and water is very shallow in low tide. And not much waves. But this is safe for small children. If you have a paddle board or inflatable boat, you can explore nearby resorts too. Go Off season. Nice and quiet....

Our room was big, clean and affordable. We are a group of 18 and was able to fit comfortably. However, we were very dissapointed because the shore was rocky and have lots of seaweed. Not ideal if you have kids who love to swim. We were not able to enjoy the beach at all and ended up staying at our room. Their checkout time was strict and the one who assisted us was rude.

If you are picturing the stretch of the famous Laiya beach but dreading the videoke, the Dona Nena family beach resort is for you. We were looking for a place where we can enjoy the beach but give the kids and my old parents some refuge from the scorching sun. So when the kids are done playing and swimming at the beach, they can head out to our airconditioned cottage to rest. Our next-door neighbor was playing music from their portable speaker but it was not as obnoxiously loud as it with videoke. We paid 7 thousand bucks for the room with 2 double decks and 1 queen size bed, air conditioned, with cable TV, with kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. They give 1 jug of water for free and a grill to cook your barbeque. The beach was not that great because it was near the mangroves. We had to head out to the noisy (videoke-filled) part. There was no signage to help you out as you drive so you just follow Porto Laiya signage. There will be a side street before the main entrance of Porta Laiya and you will find Dona Nena. Luckily there were guides (men) who hang about with their motorcycle to direct you here.
