Booked for December 12 2021 for my 40th birthday girls trip! My Gosh! I regretted every bit of the reservation! The hotel peddles as an all inclusive meaning, all food and drinks are covered however, they fail to mention that the breakfast on the first day of check in is not included! We were starved so we paid for breakfast as we waited for our rooms to be vacated and cleaned! The food’ is herondous, a dog wouldn’t eat it! First of all , in an effort to curb portions, you are not allowed to serve yourself, even ketchup is hoarded by the staff, the quality of the food is so substandard , carry anti diarrhea medication with you. Even the milk that goes in your cereal is measured for you! The eggs are bad, the potatoes are horrible and there no vegan options! Lunch was a combination of day old pasta in red sauce and partially cooked white rice as an alternative. The chefs are dirty, they touch your food as they wipe sweat off their brows! The topper was the snail I found on my lettuce! This was it for us! We checked out on the same day that we checked in! Turtle bay is an old hotel that lacks maintenance . If you are looking for luxury and relaxation, this is not it! It’s too crowded and dirty!!!

Dear Reviewer Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that the facility did not suit your celebrations. May we commence our response by pointing out that the world has been involved in a slight pandemic that has dictated that certain parts of our all inclusive service have had to be adapted under the guidance of the government's Ministry of health guidelines. The most significant of these changes was that clients could no longer serve themselves and instead we have had to serve all clients at the buffets. We do not stop clients from taking extras of anything but your misunderstanding of the system of service and covid protocols may have been why you felt this way. On the point of breakfast on the day of check in your reservation and its payment had not included breakfast and our check in time which is marked on all our tariffs is 12 noon. Your choice of transport is an economical one, as you came by train and arrived at the hotel around 0700, which is well before your contracted stay begins. We do offer a discounted rate for the breakfast under these circumstances but we are sorry if still did not suffice. . Understanding that you were unhappy with your stay you were refunded in full though we were at liberty to retain for the portion of your stay that you were here for. We notice that you made no mention of that in your report so to use the word SCAM is somewhat interesting. We will not enter response on the canine reference as we get so many who enjoy the Turtle Bay food offering. We do not advertise anywhere that were are a 5 star luxury resort and we are sorry that there were a lot of people at the hotel at the time of your stay however as a business that has been severely affected by the covid pandemic (i referred to earlier)we have to try and maximise occupancy over periods like the Public Holiday weekend when you chose to come to the resort. For future reference Public holidays in this country do tend to be busy for most businesses. Regards GM

Here we are again after much stress in complying with the Kenya entry requirements because of Covid. However having done it all it will be much easier next time and well worth the effort. Getting into Kenya was easier than getting out of the UK. It is very difficult for everyone operating under the current circumstances but rest assured the staff at Turtke Bay Beach Club will do all that is necessary to make sure you have a great time here. So if you are unsure about coming be assured and come, you will not be disappointed.

I have been in Watamu for holiday and thus while on a private visit to MSA, i just wanted to check out how the hotel is from the inside hence my decision to have lunch here, everything was moving on well until i was asked to sign a waiver for the staff at the hotel to assist me with a wheelchair to the beachfront restaurant where i could have lunch. It took almost thirty minutes even for them to locate a form i could sign, the wheelchair brought for me was equally too old and rusty that i chose to use my personal wheelchair which i had carried in my car.Everything proceeded well after the signing of the waiver form which essentially was to absolve the hotel from any liability should i get any accident while being assisted around the hotel! Everything went on well, had great food and was laughing while heading out with those who were assisting me but i didnt fail telling them i felt discriminated even though i was a paying customer. I am sure the hotel can do better, if it signing forms then all visitors need to sign them not only those with disabilities for sure this is 21C

Dear Reviewer We appreciate your feedback and we will ensure that the forms are more readily available henceforth. Unfortunately we had a case where we offered assistance with a guest in a wheelchair and whilst moving the guest to their room the chair fell over and we were sued which is why we now have to have a waivre signed. We are glad to hear your stay was however a pleasant one and we look forward to welcoming you back.

We held a retreat for 35 people at Turtle Bay in Oct 2021 and were blown away by the service of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, the variety of the food and the beauty of the beach. The kids club they offer is fantastic. The care providers are so professional, engaging and fun for the kids. They made sand castles, explored the tide pools, played hide-n-go-seek and swam for hours. The older youth had options of playing volley ball, trying paddle boats and paddle boards and felt cared for but not babied. It was such a relief to not have to worry about your kids while we held our meetings. For several of the meals we asked staff to set-up special spaces for us to meet as a smaller group. The waiters, chef and clean up crew did everything for us with no complaint. My husband and I come from a hospitality background so we know how much work this represents. Never once did we feel we were inconveniencing the staff. We will absolutely come again!

Having stayed here several times before I knew what to expect - I thought. Since Covid, the hotel has understandably taken any business it can get. Sadly, this has caused it to loose its calm, tranquil atmosphere. Guests now take their own music systems to areas that were quiet pre-dinner retreats, also phone music and loud video calls are fairly regular in the 'quiet pool' area. These are done with no intervention from the management. In the picture at the top of this page, the bass speakers are about a couple of metres to the left of the parasol seen through the window. In addition, the adjacent hotel (Medina Palms) has opened and has loud disco music on the beachfront area until midnight - again, the management are disinterested. Unless you really like hip-hop music, I would avoid this place now.

Dear Reviewer . We are sorry that there were so many noise issues during your stay . The noise from Medina was a party they had in over the weekend and is by no means a regular occurrence. We have faced a challenge during the covid time whereby some of the clientele who have been patronsing the hotel do like to bring their own music. We have placed signs up to say this is not allowed but they do need constantly reminding. We are sorry therefore that this was not followed up as strongly as it should have been during your stay. The management were not disinterested and followed the matter up with Medina who ensured us it was a one evening/night event. The Covid era has not been easy for anyone and we have been doing what we can to get through it. We aim to do the best for all our clients and keep them all happy. We will try and learn from your feedback and try improve how we handle certain situations. Thank you
