It's a good place to stay if you are going up Etna. It's within walking distance to the cable car. The hotel is pretty basic. It has an enormous dining room as I think they cater for tour groups. The dining room was not open for diner when we stayed but they give you a 15% off voucher at a restaurant by the cable car. Breakfast was good. We just stayed the one night and it was fine. It's not a hotel to hang around in as there didn't seem to be any facilities.

Response from Alessandro Corsaro, Proprietario at Corsaro Etna Hotel & SPA
Responded May 12, 2023
Hello and thank you for your kind review. About facilities we offer excursion service to the summit craters and for severals activities on volcano. They take more then a stay hit and run ;-) And what about our SPA and wellness area with two saunas, emotional shower, Jacuzzi, steam bath, relaxing area and tea corner? Etna deserves passion and more than one night to be visited. The CORSARO hotel is the ideal stopover. We look forward to seeing you again to explore this unique spectacle of nature in the world. Best regards.

The hotel is a fantastic location for anyone wanting to do any Mount Etna activities. It’s a 5 minute walk to the area of the refuge, cafe/bar, numerous gift shops and the cable car. The hotel exterior looks functional and there’s plenty of parking. The view is great, when the clouds allow. Inside the hotel is warm as is the welcome! All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our superior room had a large beautifully comfy bed with nice bedding. Two armchairs and tea/ coffee facilities. There was a large TV with Sky. A large wardrobe and space for cases was great. The bathroom had a large shower (gorgeous tiles) and nice products. We had a covered balcony area which led to an outside balcony with a view of the peak of Etna behind us. The spa was a wonderful treat after our climb up Etna. We had booked exclusive use for an hour. The rooms were beautifully prepared and all private for us two. There’s a changing room, drinks & fruit area, lounger relaxation area, then the sauna (normal and Finnish), steam room and jacuzzi. Soft music, low lighting, candles and twinkly lights above set the tone for a calming hour. Breakfast is a banquet! Tables loaded with choice - fresh pressed orange, all the usual buffet fare (pastries, fruit, meat, cheese) there was proper honeycomb, yoghurt, tarts, cakes etc… and they’ll cook you fresh eggs too! Due to the time of year we had to eat our evening meal at the refuge nearby. It was functional, the food was fairly basic but good, and the local beer was tasty too. The communication prior to our stay was great. We also got some discounts on the cable car and local food. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed here because we were on a hiking tour up Etna the next morning. It’s a basic hotel that did the job. Wouldn’t win any design prizes with its heavy dark wood, and slightly tired, furnishings but the staff were helpful, the room a good size and breakfast had all you needed. The restaurant wasn’t open in the evening so we went to the rifugio just up the road, which was fine. Easy free parking outside.

The perfect hotel to unwind whilst visiting Mt Etna. Davide and his staff couldn't be more welcoming. The rooms spacious and well presented and the beds were incredibly comfy. The amenities in the bathroom smell amazing! The location is perfect, less than 10min walk to the cable cars. The wellness area is small but definitely worth booking, a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi is all you need. Plenty of parking available with brilliant views if the weather allows. I would highly recommend Corsaro Etna!

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst doing some hikes on Etna. Hotel Corsaro was great. Reception staff very helpful. Lots of parking. Great views. Really loved the wellness centre - hot tub, sauna, steam room, rainforest shower, and relaxing areas - perfect after a day hiking or sightseeing. The room was great. Shower was VERY nice. We didn't go for a balcony as we weren't going to be in it for long... but our rooms without balcony was spacious, comfy and clean. Breakfast was good. We didn't have lunch here, (but there looked to be a lot of choice) and they weren't serving dinner in the evening. The reason for this was that it was slightly out of season, and the local hotels seemed to have some sort of agreement for opening at different times. The result was that we ate down the road every evening (Refuge Sapienza) which was pleasant enough, and just a 5 minute walk. There is a bar that is open in the evenings, which we did use one night and service was great. All in all a really nice hotel. (I'm not sure what stars it would get on a travel agent site, as it is basic in terms of decor/entertainment compared to, say, 5* hotels. But for a hotel on the top of Etna, that is convenient to the cable car and hiking.. it was perfect... and the spa just topped it off

From the point we stepped in to the day we left. The staff are amazing! The location is amazing. I recommend to book a room with balcony. Great views. The gondola to go up the volcano is a walking distance about 300 meters. The same area where gondola is located has many shopping options and food.

This hotel is deceptive in that the functional exterior hides a level of comfort, and attention to detail, that you don't always find in this price (or star) range...the best bathroom we had in our whole Sicily trip, with a super shower, shelf for toiletries and fluffy white towels. Comfortable (and wide) bed, with both a winter and a summer terrace attached to the large (superior) room. Great wellness centre. Breakfast included lots of choice. I would not recommend eating in the restaurant at the same time as tour groups as the quality slipped there. Also be aware that it's a long drive to Nicolosi proper if you want to dine there, but the Rifugio Sapienza is just a short walk away. On a clear day, there are great views from the Corsaro down to the plain and coast. The perfect place to stay if you want to visit Mt Etna for more than just a day trip!

Lodge like hotel with big rooms. Nice buffet breakfast where you can make your own fresh orange juice with Sicilian oranges. The front desk person, Francesca, was absolutely a gem. Super helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed a nice break from driving by exploring Mt. Etna. The spa was nice to use after a long day. It has a whirlpool, chromatic shower, sauna, and steam room.

Very nice people and we were welcomed to hot drinks and the bathroom use which was nice. Food was available for us also. Lots of parking and the view was very nice to see the Chair Lifts and mountain in the snow. Snowed on us getting up the mountain and it was foggy and hard to see all. Very cold and unusual for this time of year.
