We stayed at camilla for 4 days due to the floods in december 2011. Hotel looks like it needs a good clean, pool was dirty, bathroom had black on the grout and when i asked they be cleaned they simply sprayed air freshener around. smokers in the corridors made the rooms stink. Head waitress was picking her nose while i waited for breakfast, and they had no mango shakes. They didnt really understand english. good luck if u go there but I hope we dont have to again.

First time I stayed at that Camila (2) hotel in Dipolog there was ongoing construction works, so it was not fair to judge them on that stay... they did offer me 10% discount on account that the WIFI didn't work outside the lobby, construction work was ongoing and that the latter even resulted in workers entering my 3rd floor balcony at 8AM in the morning where I was sleeping with my partner.

I was back for a second time, and little had improved... no construction works, however WIFI still didn't work, and instead of the thrill of having noise from construction works, it came from one or two private parties in the garden besides the pool.

No discount this time, even it had been promised to returning customers last time (long story, but my 10% discount the first stay had come after long negotiations, not for the money, just for the principle), now they had changed the wording to regular customers being people visiting every week... I wonder how many they have of these customers, however it was obviously not something they wanted to give returning foreigner customers.

Its far from the best hotel in town by any measurement, except the pool and the garden ambience that seems to attract Filipino families.

Im will not be coming back...

On arrival at check in the girl on the desk seemed a little confused about the booking.
The room looked clean and neat
On going to bed that night, started to itch, bed bugs or some thing. Went to reception and told them, sent up some staff, and a can of bug spray. They stripped the bed sprayed some bug spray like a sprinkle took the can of the person and gave it a hell of a spray including under the mattress. They changed the sheets, well sort of, no top sheet.
Aircon sounded like a truck, and if set on six or below failed to cool at all.
Day two, arrived back in the afternoon, room was cleaned but I didn't notice until I went to have a shower before bed that they had not replaced the towels, this happened not once nor twice but three times.
Although only about 100 Peso and not a lot, but they charged for extra pillow, the pillows they provided in the room were like bricks, don't have a pillow fight with them, you might hurt someone.
Went for a meal in the resturant, walked out when the meal arrived, one very tiny piece of fish, four chips (French Fries) and four pieces of cucumber, made the mistake of asking the staff were the chips were, and they took it back and brought out the chips you get in the packet (cold) when asked were the meal was, was informed that, that was the meal and the french fries and salad were more of a garnish then part of the meal.
My Firlfriends meal was the wrong one. So be careful when ordering meals.
I did notice the pool colour change over the four days I was their, from very clear were I could see the castle on the bottom to not being able to see it at all.

Positive though had a Buisness room and the view over looking the back of the hotel to the mountians was very good.

Top Plaza next time, as my stay at Camila one was not very good either last time I visited

got a chance to stay at Hotel Camila 2 located some 2 kms from city center (Bgy Turno, near the Rotunda and the Jose Rizal Memorial College in Dipolog City) after our 3-day package at Dakak Beach Resort in nearby Dapitan City.
the place was relatively good, service was reasonable, including the room rates.
for budget travelers, best to get rooms shared by at least 2 persons. accessible since it is along the major highway and tricycles available anytime. wi-fi also available plus family size pool and jacuzzi

Its Camila1 , old one. Its really cheap hotel ...For double deluxe its 2000 piso , its 38 $... Has little refrigerator, two beds .... One big 1.80x180 and 160x180. Has "unlimited" WiFi..3 bottles of water. Free breakfast. bathroom ....
Why we live ? First we was relocated to another room because have problems with water stream, noise, and Wi-Fi.. Part of it because we was in the end of corridor. I saw old Hotel? Yes its looks ok, but have no elevator and its 4 floor ! But stop..its not end on this... The second room also in the end of corridor so have same problem with WiFi.
Finish? No , room w/o bathtub and shower for same...Old hotel with air conditioner in the wall ..And it wasn't pointed on us.. 35 degrees Celsius. 2 night was hot even to my wife for Philippines... The good spot restaurant in 1 floor with good air conditioner have good menu even somebody come, good price and service . Also in Hotel. But we go to another city! I pay for change fly ticket and take more expensive Hotel. PS - I was given 4 stars only because whey have election day in same time..But in Dipolog have problem with electricity also 7 month before. Ok , i generous😀
But don't take pictures of rooms.

First I stayed at Camila 2 the first night but,I decided to transfer to Camila 1 the older building. Both of my rooms were clean and spacious and the staff were very accomodating and helpful since it was very time to visit the city. The location was right downtown and in the middle of everything. There's a Sunburst Restaurant on the ground floor but the food wasn't all that great. The Hotel have a free shuttle bus that goes to the Airport which is a plus. For a good breakfast go to Big Joe's Cafe.I think the highlight of my visit was seeing the altar of the Cathedral that the late Dr.Jose Rizal had designed.

I had fever after staying at this hotel as there was no hot water in the shower. There's a room kettle, but the one in my room was not working properly. Stayed for two nights and I couldn't wait to get out. Paid US$30 for my room. Couldn't complain a lot :)
