This review of this place might be a bit old but still we had lots of fun in this place. A bit expensive but we enjoyed the night here. But sad to tell you that there would be scarcity of things due to its location. Its far from the main highway or any stores

Its a nice place. It makes you relaxed and feel the ambiance of sea. Secured place and quiet. Rooms are well ventilated and it has good facilities. Rooms also are very spacious which makes us very comfortable to stay. Staff are friendly and very accommodating.Food is great but sometimes it was served late. The whole place was very romantic and very nature loving. Surely well be back!! Thank you for the great hospitality.

Private Residence VIP Resort has a good location and quiet, all staffs are nice very friendly, the room is always clean and very spacious. Staff are very accommodating...good service. Foods are fantastic you can just select want you want and so the breakfast too! Their menus are quite good. I should say the price reflects the food preparation and presentation. They're very attentive & courteous to their customers. If you're looking for a great place to impress a client or a friend from out of town then this place is the best.

The experience isn't excellent, but something that satisfied me.... My friends enjoyed the place too. The staffs are friendly. The place can't be compared to 5-star resorts but for someone who appreciates simplicity and is only after of peace of mind, this is the place for you.

房間算是舒服舒適,冷氣涼,除了洗澡蓮蓬頭水量有點小之外,其他算不錯,但房內與走廊上不主動提供喝的水,這有點奇妙~ I live here for Diving 2015/2/27~3/2,It's comfortable but one thing there is no drink water in the room and the hallway.

Let me begin by saying that I have extensive experience managing casino resorts and hotels. My experience at Private Residence VIP Resort was horrible. The housekeepers are thieves, and this problem seems systemic through the entire operation. They stole $2,000 PP ($50) out of my wife's suitcase. Another member of our group said she had to go back to her room as she forgot her sunglasses; when she returned there were three housekeepers going through her room and one was in her suitcase. I complained to the manager and she was apologetic but did not seem surprised or concerned. She discounted my room by $1500 PP ($37) as a service recovery. We had relatives that were there a few days before us and they called to tell us to double check our bill because they had been double charged for in-room services and transportation in total $10,000 PP or $250 American. Their credit card machine was “down” and has been forever. I do not think it is a coincidence that they force their guests to carry large amounts of cash for checkout. The room was dated, the beds were uncomfortable, and there were ants and bugs everywhere in the room. We actually bought some alcohol spray to kill the ants... The Internet was decent but slow and low bandwidth. We had two skimpy towels in the bathroom and I had to fix the toilet twice as it would not flush correctly. The breakfast food was free but we chose to go down the beach to Atlantis because the PR food was bad. Many flies swarming the breakfast buffet was not very appetizing. The best part of this experience was getting the hell out of there. We will never go back. My recommendation to other travelers is to stay away from this hotel. The good news is there is a resort just down the beach called Atlantis. We ate three meals there and looked at the rooms. It is beautiful, the service was exceptional, and the price was slightly higher (worth every penny). Avoid this resort.

Nice resort near Apo Island and Dumaguete on Negros Oriental. Staff is very friendly and generally helpful, rooms are not extravagant but are clean and generally good condition. Our stay was during June and the resort was very quiet; our party occupied one entire building. Room rate was much less expensive than neighboring resorts. Here are the negatives... Travel to/from Dumaguete City can get expensive. This resort is isolated enough that if you need to travel to/from Dumaguete often, your only option is the resort shuttle which is expensive. Petty cab or taxi is not an option given the resort location. I would recommend staying here if you intend to stay at the resort the entire time, focusing your time on diving, swimming and relaxing. If you have business in Dumaguete, don't stay here. My biggest complaint is how payment on the rooms was conducted. The website for Private Residence VIP shows that they accept VISA/MC. This is a scam. PR/VIP asked for a downpayment from our large party 3 months ahead of check in and I was told that "credit card machine not working". Had to wire money to this resort with sketchy wire instructions. Upon check in, was informed that "credit card machine not working" and that all parties would have to pay cash for their rooms and incidentals. Staff blamed this on the internet being down, yet internet was working. They refused to accept VISA or MC and insisted on cash payment. At check out, they prepared bills for each party with itemized charges and room charges, but those handwritten itemized bills were full of clerical errors, up to over 10,000P in overcharges. It was complete chaos for the staff, handling this much cash at check out and with so many errors. Another trip into Dumaguete was required to exchange this much cash to satisfy the whole bill, at a poor exchange rate. I would not wish this experience upon anyone, it was complete chaos at check out. Being able to charge the downpayment and room charges on a credit card would have given me much greater peace of mind vs. wiring money on sketchy wire instructions and having to carry a mound of local currency with me at the resort. WORD OF ADVICE TO PR/VIP RESORT - fix your credit card machine or take the Visa/MC emblem off your website and front doors. Also, please update your website with current phone and email contacts. Last word of advice - take your own snorkel gear to Apo Island. If you intend to rent on the island, please check over the snorkel gear carefully at time of rental. You may rent inferior equipment and rental place will attempt to charge you for full replacement when you return it.

The resort consisted of two building, one is a two-storey building facing the ocean and the other is in the annex area facing the swimming pool. We stayed in the one facing the ocean, the ground floor is the restaurant, has a billard table. The first floor is the standard rooms and a large sitting area with sofa, table and chair, very good to have a drink facing the sea. The second floor where we stayed is the VIP rooms which are large with two queen bed, but the sitting area do not have sofa which is not good as the first floor. The rooms do not have balcony, so it is not good for the divers like us that always want to rinse the diving gear. The WiFi on the VIP floor is not good, almost useless. So I always need to go down to the lobby for checking emails, surfing internet, etc. There are two dive centre in the resort, one is mainly for Japanese guest with Japanese guide. And the other is the dive worx, mainly serve Asian guests and the guide and crews are locals. Our guide DJ who is very good and helpful to find all the stuff for us to photo. And the crew is good and helpful too. The guests are mainly from Asian countries and local, all expats goes to Altantis. When we checked in, the receptionist did not explain the hotel facifilies nor the diving schedule to us. Just quickly give us the key and nothing else. We need to ask her for the details of the diving schedule and she called the diving centre right away for us. We stayed 5 nights in this resort in May and we are the only guests for most of the time. Since we paid for full board, and we are the only guests having dinner in the resort at night. I can't tell if it is good or bad, but it is too quiet all the time and quite strange that no other guests. On our last day, there are 160 persons came to the resort to have the summer outing, what a big event and intersting to see the contrast. Many more staff on that day we didn't see before and they are all busy setting the tables, serving the food, etc. And they told us that there will be a wedding event on the next day too.... The food is Filipino-Western, mix and match. Not particular good nor bad, but you won't be hungry if you are not too picky. The location of the resort is in the Dauin area along the beach, there are other few resorts as well. You have to walk 5 to 10 minutes back to the main road if you want to find convenience store or jeepney to the town. You can buy snacks, beers, drink from the store easily and the jeepney to town is just 30 minutes ride. The new Robinson place in town is the largest and newest shopping mall, a large supermarket and many restaurants, etc.

We got to Private Residence in the early evening after nearly 5 hours of traveling. It was nestled among the marine sanctuaries that are all over the Negros Oriental shore. We were immediately given our welcome drinks and shown to our spacious room. Room service had to be ordered personally. The phone was out. Our room service dinner was average but at least it arrived fast. Our purpose for going to Dauin was really diving and they were helpful with that. They hooked us up with a reasonably priced dive facility and the dive went well. Apo Island was exciting. My daughter got sick and was unable to go diving with us; the staff took it upon themselves to give her lunch. The rooms are comfortable. The bathroom is spacious. The grounds are pretty--flowers, cockatoos, nice shore...and very clean. There were several other people checked-in while we were there but we never felt crowded in. The place is big enough so that other can enjoy themselves noisily but not really bother the other guests. It is not a 5-star resort but it is a good, quiet place to kick back and relax with the family.
