I am a professional diver and always search for the right combination of safety, service and price. This dive centre ticks all the boxes. Jinn looked after us from the start with helpful information about the dive trips. Kim the receptionist made everything super easy for me including paying with PayPal. The boats are huge, clean with fantastic boat crew. Veggo options for lunch and the food was great! For you Apo Island trip they include breakfast and lunch so it’s such great value. Our guide was a utter legend- Ray. An expert macro hunter with a very relaxed vibe. It was spectacular diving and I saw so many critters I didn’t even know existed. After you dives hang out and play some badminton or some cheap, cold beers. There’s hammocks and lounge chairs too. Very highly recommend!…
Located about 400m from the main road, right on the beach. Very friendly and efficient check in. Room was as good as you would expect for the price, with comfortable bed, fan and plenty of space. (Fly net didn't fit properly, but we had no mosquitos thankfully). Toilets and showers were clean, with warm water. There is a very well stocked kitchen available, with some free bread and cakes for breakfast and free tea and coffee. They provide free drinking water, a fridge freezer and make Ice for cold evening drinks. Beers are very reasonably priced and ice cold. You can hire snorkel and diving gear very cheaply, and see plenty of coral and fish straight off the beach. There are sunbeds provided free of charge on the beach.
I have so many amazing memories from staying here. Every staff member, including the owner, were incredibly nice. I was here until Christmas Eve so it was a festive mood and the staff threw two parties at the shared kitchen/dining area. Very social vibe on other nights too. I did one day of diving at Apo Island, and my partner did a 3-day SSI Open Water Certification. We both loved the dive masters. We saw 4 sea turtles the day we dived together at Apo. Plus I loved how there was great snorkeling straight off the beach whenever I wanted, with beautiful corals, wrasses, clownfish, parrotfish, and a very feisty Titan triggerfish (give them space!). You could also see phosphorescence if you night swim. Only drawbacks are the bungalows have no noise protection. Because it was the holidays, there were tons of parties and karaoke blasting out from other nearby places on the island, plus loud feral dogs, roosters, and other guests. The place recommended earplugs, which were completely necessary. …
The place owned by a super nice person - Mark. Thank you very much for him doing such good job. Rooms are new and clean. Stayed a room with electric fan for 7 nights no any issue about the temperature in day or night time. Breakfast provided in morning during my stay sometimes they serving with fried eggs, pancakes, France toast sometimes only breads, banana cake. Share toilet and bathroom in the resort both are always clean, hot show 24 hours ready in bathroom. Diving services are in high quality in low price, thank you very much my DM Ruben he have very good eyesight, found a lot small staff for me during my diving. It almost forgot, the Mandarin fish dive should be tried. Thank you very much every one working in Aivymaes they gave me a good diving trip.
It’s the best place to stay in Dauin, in comparison with other places we had stand even the best in Philippines. Nice location: right on the beach. Good service, especially guides! About scuba diving: absolutely happy. A lot of Nudibranchs on home reef. Just few moments: it would be nice to have more places to take a dinner/lunch. Need to install some tip box for guides. Because these guys do awesome job!
This has been one of the best value for money places I’ve stayed in the Philippines, it’s right on the beach I stayed in the bamboo dorms beds are comfy and have mosquito nets, clean bathrooms, good breakfast staff are really helpful, cheap beer. The muck diving right out the front is some of the best I’ve done and I’ve been diving all over the world the dive masters and instructors are really good, shore dives was just me and instructor gin who is a great dive guide special thanks to him he’s a master at spotting all the small things. Also very easy getting to Apo Island with them, thanks! Drew
We really enjoyed our stay here, got to know the owner even although it was only 1 night. The bungalow we had was tiny with no bathroom, which we did not see when we booked but it had a beautiful view of the beach, everyone was very helpful and you could make French press coffee and help yourself to breakfast in the morning. The bungalow was clean though and had a great Ac. So as long as you realise what you get you should enjoy it. Best thing was you could just walk out the door onto the beach and go snorkeling. If you into diving this place is also awesome for that
My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and had 4 dives here. It’s located right by the beach and the dive from here is so good! Recommend the Apo Island Tour also, such a nice day with 3 dives and really good lunch on the boat. Accommodation and facilities are perfect -new and clean. Diving gear is new and well taken care of, we felt super safe diving with AivyMaes and they know the best spots plus the dive masters are great! The staff here is friendly and helpful. Overall we loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone who wants to dive in Dauin.
My friend and I went here for diving and had some of the best days of our 4 months trip! The accommodation is really nice, clean, new and super relaxed. The staff are great and helpful! Diving equipment is good and new. Dive masters are safe and professional and we can for sure recommend the Apo Island tour and the other dives they offer! Kind regards Chris and Mette
Aivy Maes - Dauin This was truly a ‘paradise’ for me. Right on the water with an amazingly caring staff. There was always someone there if you had any questions. The shared bathrooms were kept clean and the rooms were nice; nothing fancy but all I needed. The shared kitchen was well maintained and clean and I appreciated the free water, coffee, tea. The Diving greatly exceeded my expectations, as did the Dive Guides, Gien was amazing. They were masters at finding the tiny creatures. Even when I couldn’t even see some of them, they were patient in helping me see them. I highly recommend Aivy Maes Diving Paradise !
