The Porto Bello Royal, Kos is not a 5 star platinum hotel. I had room 542 and stayed 10th to 17th October,and it was a basic room with nothing deluxe or superior about it. It was invaded by large and small ants an ongoing problem throughout the week. Had to ask for a mirror in the room, had to ask for a plug for the bath and when had to ask a second time the male receptionist got angry. The walkways and around the pools have loose and broken tiles, no supervision around pools. The food is mediocre and goes cold very quick as there are no hot plates available and the main restaurant is more like a works canteen. The Italian restaurant only has beer and soft drinks, you have to pay for your wine here in an all inclusive hotel. I had flat beer and tonic water on several occasions. One afternoon the bar ran out of slices of lemon because they couldn't be bothered to go and get some more. This hotel is no more than 3 star. It lets Kos and the area down. Last year I stayed at the Belvedere which is 5 star and far superior. My general opinion of the Porto Bello Royal is that the owners are trying to save money and cutbacks do represent poor value for money. To add insult to injury TUI have not responded to my complaint after 4 weeks.…

Whilst we had a lovely holiday made by the weather which was unexpected. Our room was fine we had our own private pool and this was lovely! However the room was looking tired there was a tile missing in the shower area and we had a real issue with ants (the cleaner tried her best to get rid but to no avail) The dining experience wasn’t the best and I do understand it was end of season. Breakfast was good however dinner in the evening wasn’t the best very repetitive and not the best quality. We are not fussy eaters at all but at times we struggled and ended up with cold meats and salad. The Italian restraunt however was amazing and the quality was much better. Not sure however why we paid for wine there on all inclusive but it was worth the money and the staff there were excellent. Overall the hotel was ok. In need of upgrading to return it to 5* as was way off the Mark. A good holiday but not sure we would return to Kos.…

I’ve spent 13 days from 6 to 18 September at Porto Bello and I absolutely loved it! * The hotel The hotel is located in a very picturesque area, just at the sea, so you always have a beautiful view on the sea, mountains, palm trees! The view is absolutely gorgeous!! The hotel has a lot of pools (I don’t even know how many, but more than 10, for sure) and jacuzzis, so if you are ‘pool person’ it’s definitely your place for you to go! * Food There are different thematic restaurants and bars, which I can all recommend. The food in the main restaurant was always good, plenty of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The atmosphere is very friendly and pleasant, the waiters are super nice, fast and friendly (special thanks to Ripon, who was always very friendly, smiling, fast, eager to make all guest feel comfortable and enjoying the food, which made our breakfasts and dinners very pleasant🙏)! The people who welcome you at the restaurant are very friendly and professional as well! I liked to go to lunch to a Mediterranean restaurant, which is specializing at Greek food with seafood dishes, Greek music and beautiful view at the sea! There are also 4 restaurants a la carte, including Italian (which was very good and located in a romantic location) and burger project (where I got delicious burgers and a very fast service). * Activities In the morning and in the evening there were yoga and stretching at the beach under a beautiful tree, and in the evening almost every day live music with different bands. The animation people were friendly, especially my favorites Anele and Ntlantla, with whom I had so much fun during the whole stay! The sports activities I also did - was beach volleyball and tennis. A great bonus to me was that the canoe and pedal boats are for free (30 minutes) for the guests, so we could add some more cool activities at the beach! * Bars The azure snack bar is absolutely necessary to visit, luxury atmosphere, big pool, live music at some days and a very nice bar tender and a person who served food, thank you, guys! I loved the atmosphere there and of course again marvelous view to the sea! I also liked a lot, that there were many different cocktails and they were served in beautiful glasses in all bars (which for me is important 😃). * Aqua park Just a few minutes away from the hotel there is an aqua park with many different waterslides (scary and not 😆) and pools. And this was the first aqua park, where I didn’t have wait in line🙏 it was very pleasant! And for the guest of the hotel it was possible to leave it, had a lunch or do something else at the hotel and then go back at the same day, which I found very practical! To sum up: It was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel for people who appreciate esthetic, comfort, quiet atmosphere and relaxing. I would absolutely recommend to book a room with a swim up pool (it has 3 big pools gathered together) and a see view, it is just 1 minute away from the beach and I was just in love with it! I want to start off this review by saying we had a great time with the extended family. We really enjoyed playing on the beach and in the sea. However when you pay for a 5 star hotel you expect 5 star standard. I am sure in its heyday this hotel was a 5 star hotel but the reality of this hotel now is it would be lucky to achieve a 4 star. The main areas of the hotel leave a lot to be desired - paint flaking, missing toilet seats, rubbish left in places for days, the hotel flag is ripped, letters missing from signs, shoddy bathrooms, not suitable baby changing facilities, freezing cold pools. Sadly I could continue this list. The food was average in the main restaurant which was a lot better than the speciality restaurants. The room was ok but for a 5 star I would expect some form of biscuits or snacks. There was no iron and the hairdryer was painfully slow! This hotel is advertised by TUI as being family friendly - I am not sure who decided this but clearly they haven’t taken a toddler into consideration. If you need a pushchair then you either have to walk a long way around or use a very dodgy lift! There are stairs everywhere! When we mentioned to TUI the staff were rude and the hotel looked tired we were told it is the end of the season - this is an inadequate explanation. On the second day I did mention a few concerns to the management including very rude staff which was dealt with swiftly. I would like to add this was only a couple of staff the majority were friendly and warm. We did have a great time but that’s because we were determined to have a wonderful time after looking forward to it for so long. Safe to say we won’t be retuning to the hotel. We just hope the management can invest in the property and bring it back to its former glory.…

Regarding our hotel complex, kindly note that it is mentioned in all our brochures that it is a big resort with 418 rooms and 13 open air swimming pools. There are corridors everywhere which our guests can use to avoid all the stairs. While the iron is available in our hotel on a daily basis upon request, we understand that it is not a mandatory standard in every room. We will consider how we can communicate these amenities more effectively to our guests. We genuinely value your feedback, as it helps us identify areas for improvement. Stayed in this wonderful hotel for 10 nights, September 2023 as previous guests have mentioned all of the staff no matter what their position are pleasant hard working and proud of the job they do to help make your holiday memorable. Check in is smooth and efficient and a cheerful guy and his golf trolley transports you and your cases to your room and returns you and your cases back to reception after your holiday. Pool area/Sun beds are never a problem, pool towels are supplied and can be changed. Rooms are cleaned daily, bath and face towels changed daily. Fridge topped up with bottled water and soft drinks. Restaurant can get busy and you may have to wait a short while for a table, a large choice of quality food at every meal time, waiter service for drinks, they do have themed nights e.g. Greek, oriental etc. You can also book into an Italian restaurant and a burger restaurant throughout your stay, well worth it. If you fancy a trip out to Kardemena town a public bus stops out side the hotel entrance. Hotel bars serve decent alcoholic drinks, beer, shorts and cocktails although some cocktails are not in all inclusive. Hotel has a private area of beach with free sunbeds, Sandy beach but rocky in the shallow water, bring you beach shoes. The hotel is vast and elegant, well managed, but never gets crowded with 15 large pools at times you have a pool to yourself, oh yes and the over head flight path to Kos airport, soon get used to it, and on plus side you have a short transfer journey. Impressive hotel, Nice big open reception area, smooth booking in process, taken to your room ( and collected at end of stay) by golf buggy type car, we upgraded to a sea view room with king size bed, we had fridge stocked with water fizzy soft drinks and two cans of beer, filled up each day, body wash and conditioner in bathroom for sink and shower. comfy bed but no usb charging ports ( still plug sockets) for phone etc. tv in room but just a couple of news channels only in English. plenty of hangers in wardrobe and digital safe (free) key cards to enter room and keep power on. Plenty of pool loungers always got one no matter what time of day, beach loungers are free but go quickly with people doing the claiming of loungers early morning on beach. Good selection of food. I wanted to share my experience at this hotel. I must say that since I booked the hotel back in august I started to notice some very negative comments and was not sure why all of a sudden this was happening. I wrote to the hotel and the hotel manager quickly replied to ensure me that for some reason a group of people had posted some upsetting reviews for no real reason. I was reassured that the hotel would guarantee a wonderful stay and that I would see for myself. She was not wrong. We stayed for 10 nights and can honestly say that we were not disappointed. The staff ( and I mean all the staff - even those you never see that clean all the public areas before day break and equally after the sun sets) The housekeeping team, reception, porters, waiters-waitresses, bar staff, chefs and entertainment staff. They are very professional and that they are proud of what they do and - it shows. The rooms are cleaned daily as expected and bathroom towel’s replaced, leaving a lovely fresh smell when you come back to the room. With all the pools you are spoilt for choice and sun beds with parasols are available. The restaurant does themed nights, and there is so many dishes to choose from you always find something to your liking. Breakfast and lunches give equally a fabulous selection. Drinks, snacks and ice creams are available all day long. There is some entertainment during the day and each evening a choice of either in the hotel or in the outside theatre. There is an inside pool and a Spa where treatments are available at a supplement which don’t disappoint. I know one person’s experience is not another persons, therefore I would suggest you check it out for yourselves. Although TripAdvisor is a platform where you are free to write what you wish, read between the lines. I would love to return to this hotel and maybe in the future I will. The best staff ever we celebrated our anniversary at the Porto Bello Royal and Monika ,the manager and staff went out of their way to make the day Very Special so a big thankyou to everybody . We were in a suite sea view private pool and the view is Spectacular, the sheets were changed every 2 days ,the towels every day . We never had trouble booking any restaurant and always got the time we wanted . We never queued at any restaurant and we were never waiting for drinks . The staff are AMAZING. very FRIENDLY and nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you to everybody to make our holiday SPECIAL and we will see you all in May

Always enjoy our time here lovely views the staff are very attentive we always ask for the same room if possible they are very accommodating we usually have a couple of meals in other restaurants onsite which have been very good and we go into town for change we don’t have to fight for a sunbed which is a bonus and the pools are plentiful not usually very busy we’ve compared it to sandals in Barbados and this hotel is way better in our opinion there’s a lovely reception area with lots of seating and a bar and great outdoor area with fabulous views

Just got back from a fantastic 7 days at the lovely Royal Porto Bello. Firstly what a lovely hotel, pristine clean spacious rooms. 15 pools yes 15, no need to get up early for a subbed, not in this resort there are plenty trust me. Stayed here with my sister and brother inlaw who had been twice before. Food plentiful lots and lots of choice, staff are so lovely and always helpful. The beach literally just a walk away and crystal waters await you. Light entertainment, plenty of bars and three restaurants on site to choose from. Local bus/coach takes into Kos town daily worth a visit. Will definitely go back 7 days not long enough.
