Location is okay, beachfront. The landscaping of the resort is not well maintained. Bushes are obstructing the view. We are group of 4 and we were placed at the 2 double bed room. Kinda spacious but we saw rooms good for 3 (can opt for 4 but we were placed for 2 persons room). No WiFi but pretty decent signal (LTE). The room is okay for us but the balcony door cannot be locked. The main issue we had is the room does not get cold in one side. One side is cold enough and one is isn’t. So some of us sleep peacefully while the other 2 sleeps in hell. The towels they provided me are too rough and the reception close early and you might end up banging on the reception’s door in the middle of the night just to help you if you got locked out. Lots of ants with wings which is annoying, it sometimes crawls in your pillow so be careful. Lots of empty rooms but we were placed on the top floor on the end side. Whole building is pretty empty even the rooms below us. Which is annoying since we had luggages. This is the only hotel/resort that I had stayed that required me to pay first upon arrival. No proper lightning on the resort. So you must bring flashlight or your phone flashlight (whichever you prefer that emits light) if you are going out at night. Understaffed also. I only saw was the receptionist and one man with a baby.

We arrived in Cocobana right before the global lockdown. Ended up staying for over a month in the resort. The location was perfect but wow, was there a lot of internal problems! The owner Freddy is a swiss xenophobe, and we witnessed a lot of problems with guests of many different nationalities during our stay. We would constantly hear him comment on people's nationalities demeaningly, judge and insult them for being Chinese, or Israeli, or Spanish. He also treated his staff very poorly and we would hear him scream at them every day. The swimming pool was dirty since the day we arrived and was never cleaned, there were large parties during the whole quarantine (something that was highly prohibited) and the owner himself broke all the government rules all the time. Every time there was an issue, the owner would excuse himself by saying "he was just a tourist" and nothing was ever solved. Every night we'd find cockroaches in our bathroom. These are things you do not normally witness on a two-day stay, but are issues I feel are very important, when choosing a place to stay. The neighbouring resorts and hotels offer much better service and room quality.

Currently we are waiting for the food but this review is about their bathroom! I’ve never seen such a disgusting smelling and dirty toilet in our whole Philippines-stay. We intended to have Lunch there After arrived on the Island as Location is convenient but all my appetite is gone and I can’t tell bout the food but the restroom! Makes you want to leave immediately- really really disgusting! If the kitchen is like that - just leave!

The people at Cocobanas were friendly. Stayed at Cocobana superior deluxe) and recommend it for its close proximity with heater and a/c. The clean the rooms daily. Only feedback was a little wait time, but then again you're at a local beach resort and they're not trained to the service standarss of 4-5star hoteliers that we're used to. So its OK for their standard. There is a 24h local breadshop about 7mins walk to market, located exactly where the market is. Its fresh bread and some cakes (limited range) that are very cheap. Had that for light breakfast being going for the thresher shark dives early in the morning. I find it good to eat something small before a dive rather than dive on an empty stomach. Please consider supporting the locals as the earn very little and here I find them honest and sincere. Supporting them means supporting their livelihoods and also their families. Please also considering tipping them generously if you are grateful for their services. Between dives I walked around to explore the village. I found a catholic church named Virgen de los Desamparados (8 min walk from TSD), where the locals believe in Mother Mary's intercession that helped to protect the locals during the 2013 typhoon. I asked a local about it and he shared that during the typhoon, even though there was damage to the homes and structures, not a single person died. How amazing! Safe stay to all travelling.

This hotel is in the perfect location and overlooks the beach which is the main reason we booked. It has a nice swimming pool which we used every day however the whole resort is extremely run down and needs to be upgraded to ensure they keep getting visitors. I wouldn’t eat there as it’s dirty, the room all in all is ok but yes holes in the walls so mosquitoes throughout. Is ok I think there are better places.

Nice beachside hotel. We had a large room upstairs with a big balcony. Very clean. Decor is simple. But comfortable. Nice pool and sun chairs and hammocks dotted around the big garden to chill out. V well located for all you need in Malapascua including - crucially - boat arrivals and departures to the island on bounty beach. Staff friendly and helpful. Well recommend.

To eat breakfast or lunch at Cocobana was the smartest choice we made during our stay at Malapascua. Cheap prices, and great food! Good service also. (We never slept at the resort, only ate at the restaurant)

For a traveler, location is very great. Just right in front of the bounty beach. The room is very spacious maximum 6 people can fit. Here in Malapascua, you got lots of very friendly local that can tour you around the island with a cheap cost with their motorbikes. Foods here are not way cheaper than I thought, but everything is just spectacular.

The resort is the oldest resort on the island. Some of the rooms shows wear and needs some renovation. The good thing about the place is its on the beachfront and they have nice plants within the resort. They also have a pool. Our room was big and has balcony but needs some upgrade to catch up with the new ones on the island. The room feels homey. Good for family since rooms are big and I saw few families staying in the resort. Nice staff as well. Reasonable price

Very nice beachfront resort. We stayed in the super deluxe room and found it very comfortable. Best part of my stay was the massages you can have either in your room or at the spa (450 pesos) I highly recommend booking a appointment with Janeth. All the staff was very friendly and helpful ,, I would definitely stay at this resort again
