Location is just behind the main market square so you are very close to most of the eateries and small shops. Also Hilteys is relatively central on the Bounty beach area so most dive shops are approx 10minutes away.
The standard room is a double bed, ensuite bathroom and ammenties like a mini fridge, kettle and a set of kitchenware. Also there is a fan and then aircon also. Water is included but not electricity. We stayed in a larger room with also a kitchen area for actual cooking. Everyday, the ladies come to clean your room and once a week (ish) you get new bed sheets and towels. Since we were working long day, it was so lovely to come home to fresh and clean room! There is a laundry basket in the rooms, so laundry service is available. The U-shaped layout of the complex means everyone has a little porch with chairs&table overlooking a small garden.
We have nothing to fault about Hilteys! Thanks Volker&Margie!
1 Star for the staff working at the Hideout always greeting you with a lovey smile, ready to help if needed.
1 Star for the cozy community he has created! A true little western oasis with all you need! Own shop, cheap drinking water supply, laundry service and much more.
1 Star for the location, it is by far the best on the island! You have everything within walking distance and it’s still somehow appears to be a secret hidden paradise in the middle of everything.
1 Big Star for the total experience of our stay at this place.
My girlfriend and I, can highly recommend this place and if we somehow would be back, this for sure would be where we gonna spent our days!

The entire complex is very clean. The rooms are spacious enough for long-term vacations but also great for short trips. I never had any concerns about safety. Towels, bed-sheets and toilet paper is being provided (which is not the case everywhere on Malapascua). Towels are changed twice a week and bed sheets once a week. There is a laundry service, which is very cheap. 100 pesos per kilo. You wont need any clothing on Malapascua anyways ;-) The rooms have aircon, fan and a safe. If you wish you can get a fridge, water cattle and even a 10 liter water dispenser. If youre staying for a very long time, there is rooms with small kitchens. The rooms have a seperate shower and toilet.
One thing to mention is that you pay extra for electricity. But if you go easy on the aircon its barely anything.
Volker and Margerie, the owners of Hilteys, are incredibly friendly. Always chatty and occaisionally they will come by with a beer or some chocolate. Just because....
So I can, from my very heart, recommend Hilteys Hideout to the fullest! You won't find a better resort in this price ange on Malapascua!
It was a good size, with a comfortable double bed, table and shelves. A refrigerator, a digital safe, a kettle, aircon, fan, separate wc with washbasin and separate shower with seriously hot water. The rooms are spotless (they're cleaned every day), secure and mosquito-proof. Some of the rooms have a small kitchen area where you can cook. There's fast free wifi, a very cheap laundry service, cheap refills for your water bottle, and you can buy snacks and drinks.
The building is a u shape around a grass and flower garden, with a continuous veranda so you can chat to other guests if you wish. Compared to the other 'budget' accommodation I've seen here, there's a wonderful sense of space. And it's just a few minutes to the beach (I've looked at some of the 'high end' resorts where you'll pay five to eight times as much, and the only thing they have that I don't is a view of the sea...)
My hosts, Volker and Margie, were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. While the power was being reconnected after the typhoon, there was only electricity from 5pm to 7am. So Volker provided a huge flask of hot water for coffee or tea every day while the power was off. Other thoughtful touches included a rechargeable torch, since there are no street lights, and an umbrella for when it rains.
Just be aware that Hiltey's is, not surprisingly, very popular, so if you're coming to Malapascua, you might want to book your room well in advance. You won't be disappointed.
Rooms are a good size, very clean & set around a small garden which encourages socialising.
Net is great & fast. Great rates also.
They have small snacks on site, all rooms come with optional hot showers & air con.
Would definitely recommend!
The room, good points: safe box and clean, price is relativity cheap. The room is bamboo and the bed is bamboo to noisy if you are a couple.
The garden is clean and as all the island with coconuts. The own so friendly and help you all the time.
If you re backpacker is excelent, if you like little more> is poor.
Relation price/quaity: good.
The beach is few minutes from the " hiltey s homes" , here is small island so... all is near
