Evolution is small and friendly owner operated resort that provides everything you could need to enjoy Malapascua's great diving. We have 16 rooms with a choice of AC or Fan, all within a short distance from our golden white sand beach. The resort is home to one of the most highly rated restaurant on the island, where you'll find food for all palates, and a great selection of vegetarian dishes as well. Just let us know what you need to make your trip great and we'll do our best to make it happen.
We had the most fantastic time at Evolution. We started our holiday in the Philippines with a few days at Evolution doing our Open Water Course. It’s the best decision we made. The staff are brilliant, but the standout was our experienced instructor, Bran. He’s thorough and very calm, which made us feel safe and relaxed the whole time. We loved the fact our confined dives were in a confined area of sea, as opposed to a pool- this made us feel very comfortable for our first Open Water Dives. After we were certified, we completed our Deep Dive certification and got to dive with the Thresher Sharks. What an amazing experience, we feel very lucky to have done that. Again, Bran was a great instructor throughout. Have the Crepes at the Craic House! They’re the best we’ve had in the Philippines, I can’t find another one as good. You have to try out the local market area for food as well. The prawns and squid we had were cooked right in front of us and were delicious. Make sure you bring a good water bottle- no disposable bottles are sold or allowed on site for sustainability reasons (which owe loved). You’ll have the best time if you choose to stay here! …

Had the most amazing experience at Evolution! Food is fresh and great, the menu is varied. Never really dived before as was super scared to try. Ended up taking the Padi Open Water course and Deep Adventure Dive where I’ve encountered Thresher Sharks with Bran!! Great diver and such a good coach: very professional, supportive and knowledgeable. I couldn’t have had a better experience. Nick the manager has the best playlists I’ve listen to in the Philippines. We were and still are sad to have left with my boyfriend and cannot wait to come back! Thank you Evolution you’ve been great!

My girlfriend and I came here for 4 days of diving and it was so good that we actually ended up staying an extra night. We were able to dive 4 days with the thresher sharks and booked every dive that we could while we were there to all the other sites. We did 5 dives a day on most days and did 22 total. We were surprised at how good the macro diving was at many of the dive sites around Malapascua... especially Gato Island, Chocolate Island, and the House Reef. We counted 7 different frogfish on the house reef during a night dive along with seeing the mating mandarinfish and many other critters. The rooms were great. Very clean and everything you need. The food was terrific with a great selection of entrees. We ended up eating at the Craic House for every meal and didn't feel the need to go anywhere else since we didn't feel it could be any better. I cannot say enough about the management and the operation. Everything is precisely fine-tuned and extremely well run. We are the type of people that like to dive as much as possible and we were able to do 5 dives a day. For a night dive at Chocolate Island there was a 4 person requirement to make the trip... only 3 people had signed up and the management staff still ran the charter for us. Much appreciation! I will also say that this is the best operation for thresher shark dives. They get to Kimud Shoal before all the other boats arrive and do 2 dives there every day. We had multiple thresher sharks on all 8 of the dives we did there and even counted 6 at one time on a dive. Incredible experience. I cannot recommend this resort enough and many thanks to the owners and all the wonderful employees for all of their hard work in making this stay so wonderful. …

David and Nick helped coordinate our visit from beginning to end and it was fantastic! There isn’t much to see or do on Malapascua except scuba dive. The thresher dive was well worth the trip and the food onsite at Craic House was delicious. Understand there are severely limited resources on the island. Evolution offers relatively clean and comfortable accommodations, but this slice of paradise comes with a few imperfections. If you’re prepared they are easily overcome by the beautiful sunrises and gorgeous starry nights. Bring bug spray and an ounce of situational awareness and you’ll have a marvelous time.

Our trip was planned last minute driven by the "let's get out of the city and see some sharks" mindset. All information provided to us from the accommodation, diving, and even private transfers were very thorough and easily understood. Responses were quick which was great! Our room was clean, beds were comfy, and most importantly (to us especially after a full day of diving) they had hot showers + good water pressure. We came for the Thresher Shark experience and the dive team at Evolution delivered high quality service. Our divemaster, Elgen, explained to us in great detail the dos and don'ts - so please do try your hardest to stick to the rules. It keeps everyone, the environment and the sharks safe. Apart from the Threshers, we enjoyed all our other dives as well, Elgen and I'm sure the rest of the dive team are great spotters. We love our seahorses and crustaceans! Beautiful soft corals at the dive sites that we went to and I'm glad that they do make it a point to pick up trash whenever they see it anywhere in the dive site. Getting back on the dive boat was a new experience for us, not gonna lie, it took some getting used to. But no worries, your trusty divemaster is always there to help. We are definitely returning for another shot at spotting the Devil Ray Mantas! Wonderful experience with amazing hospitality from beginning to end. And yes, order the Hangover club.…

We came to Evolution Resort on April 7th evening after 2 long days traveling and without our luggage and our diving equipment that did not arrive to Manila with us. The team that was updated by our agent (WildDive) on our situation were waiting for us with a warm and very friendly welcome , they made sure that we will have some new shirts, diving equipment and everything needed for our stay and diving until we will get our luggage. They made all efforts and were in touch with our agent, the airline company and who ever needed to make sure that our luggage is found, safe, on the way to the Island and finally to our room – just amazing! We stayed 5 nights in an AC DBL room that had been great with a nice view to the sea. The dives and specially Monad Shoal and Gato Island were WOW. Food was great and the WHOLE team were AMAZING, everyone did his best to make sure that we will enjoy and we really did. We faced the edge of an unexpected Typhoon including closing of the island by the coast Guard which held us for another day but the great team, again made everything needed for us to feel good. We want to thank everyone for the hospitality, professionalism, solution to every problem and creating a wonderful feeling for every day of our stay. Highly recommended also for a long stay for those who want to relax and forget everything and of course the dives are amazing, special and beautiful. So Big Thanks to Matt and the whole team and hope to come back soon. …

Evolution Resort is situated in an excellent location, with a wide beachfront that has a perfect view of the sunrise and a sky full of stars. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pets are extremely cute too! The resort made all transfer arrangements and of course it helped that they run an great dive shop too.

the resort was very private and has a wide beach front with clean, fine, white sand. it was very comfortable. rooms are big and roomy, all amenities are in tip top shape. very clean and relaxing atmosphere. the owner matt came to meet us at the pier and already we felt welcome and at home. we went around the island to take a peak at the other resorts. but really, if you're looking for a place to stay at malapascua, look no further because this resort is the best place to be. you have your privacy yet the staff and even the owners are at your service, friendly and easy. if you have any questions, special requests, they are more than accommodating. if you want to learn more about diving at any level, their team has so much experience, there is no better place to learn from. also, the sunrise and sunsets here are epic. at night, it was a sky full of stars, with little to no obstructions. it was beautiful. the only comment i would add for the place to improve is the food selection. it was good but not great and limited. understandable with less guests during this covid period. but it's still a very charming, comfortable place to chill. overall, this trip is definitely one for the books.…

I recently spent a week at Evolution and had an absolutely fantastic time. From the responsive communication with booking to being welcomed as we arrived, everyone at Evolution went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. The resort is on the quiet end of the beach and our bungalow was cleaned daily. The food at the Craic House was quite good, we really liked the daily happy hour! My husband and I are active divers in the Philippines and were extremely impressed by the professionalism and passion of the dive guides. We had a blast diving with Vince and Josh throughout the week. They were so friendly and approachable, even during the early hours for Monad Shoal! We were lucky enough to dive Monad Shoal multiple times and while each dive was different, we saw the gorgeous thresher sharks each time. The dive boats were also large (good for social distancing!) and clean. We're already planning to go back again soon!…

Best dive shop in malapascua and #1 in my list of top 3 shops in the Philippines. They offer the complete line of courses. Rebreather you want? They got you covered. Instructors teach you the proper ways of diving. How diving should be taught. Rooms are great. Food is really good. Not pretentious. Get the Hangover Sandwuch. Order it at least 5 times during your stay at Evo!
