Our trip was planned last minute driven by the "let's get out of the city and see some sharks" mindset.

All information provided to us from the accommodation, diving, and even private transfers were very thorough and easily understood. Responses were quick which was great!

Our room was clean, beds were comfy, and most importantly (to us especially after a full day of diving) they had hot showers + good water pressure.

We came for the Thresher Shark experience and the dive team at Evolution delivered high quality service. Our divemaster, Elgen, explained to us in great detail the dos and don'ts - so please do try your hardest to stick to the rules. It keeps everyone, the environment and the sharks safe.

Apart from the Threshers, we enjoyed all our other dives as well, Elgen and I'm sure the rest of the dive team are great spotters. We love our seahorses and crustaceans! Beautiful soft corals at the dive sites that we went to and I'm glad that they do make it a point to pick up trash whenever they see it anywhere in the dive site.

Getting back on the dive boat was a new experience for us, not gonna lie, it took some getting used to. But no worries, your trusty divemaster is always there to help.

We are definitely returning for another shot at spotting the Devil Ray Mantas! Wonderful experience with amazing hospitality from beginning to end.

And yes, order the Hangover club.

Evolution Resort is situated in an excellent location, with a wide beachfront that has a perfect view of the sunrise and a sky full of stars. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pets are extremely cute too!

The resort made all transfer arrangements and of course it helped that they run an great dive shop too.

Arriwed Malapascua and Evelution Diving Resort in fully sunshine. And the atmosphere hit you adwonse. A friendly staff took care of you with a welcomedrink, and they where there for you the rest of the week. During the stay we went to the beautiful North Beach and also A daytrip to the spectaculare Kalanggaman Island.
Evolution Diving Resort has A special atmosphere of Kindness, Caretaking, Laidback and A touch of Backpacking that I give Evolution Diving Resort top score.
Will I be back? Yes for shure.
Thanks from 65 Year old Norwegian

They provide seamless boat/van transfer from airport to resort at a fee of php 5200 one way. The van is not exactly in the best condition but does the work. Resort room is clean, they fill up a flask of water daily. Bedsheet they didn’t change it from previous occupant (plenty of hair left behind on white linen). Diving with them - it’s not pleasant but I have reviewed them separately under evolution diving.

It’s probably one of the best resort in this small island, please manage your expectation well before the trip. Food is average, staff not smiley.

the resort was very private and has a wide beach front with clean, fine, white sand. it was very comfortable. rooms are big and roomy, all amenities are in tip top shape. very clean and relaxing atmosphere. the owner matt came to meet us at the pier and already we felt welcome and at home.

we went around the island to take a peak at the other resorts. but really, if you're looking for a place to stay at malapascua, look no further because this resort is the best place to be. you have your privacy yet the staff and even the owners are at your service, friendly and easy. if you have any questions, special requests, they are more than accommodating. if you want to learn more about diving at any level, their team has so much experience, there is no better place to learn from.

also, the sunrise and sunsets here are epic. at night, it was a sky full of stars, with little to no obstructions. it was beautiful.

the only comment i would add for the place to improve is the food selection. it was good but not great and limited. understandable with less guests during this covid period. but it's still a very charming, comfortable place to chill.

overall, this trip is definitely one for the books.

We came to Evolution Resort on April 7th evening after 2 long days traveling and without our luggage and our diving equipment that did not arrive to Manila with us.
The team that was updated by our agent (WildDive) on our situation were waiting for us with a warm and very friendly welcome , they made sure that we will have some new shirts, diving equipment and everything needed for our stay and diving until we will get our luggage.
They made all efforts and were in touch with our agent, the airline company and who ever needed to make sure that our luggage is found, safe, on the way to the Island and finally to our room – just amazing!
We stayed 5 nights in an AC DBL room that had been great with a nice view to the sea. The dives and specially Monad Shoal and Gato Island were WOW.
Food was great and the WHOLE team were AMAZING, everyone did his best to make sure that we will enjoy and we really did.
We faced the edge of an unexpected Typhoon including closing of the island by the coast Guard which held us for another day but the great team, again made everything needed for us to feel good.
We want to thank everyone for the hospitality, professionalism, solution to every problem and creating a wonderful feeling for every day of our stay.
Highly recommended also for a long stay for those who want to relax and forget everything and of course the dives are amazing, special and beautiful.

So Big Thanks to Matt and the whole team and hope to come back soon.

I recently spent a week at Evolution and had an absolutely fantastic time. From the responsive communication with booking to being welcomed as we arrived, everyone at Evolution went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. The resort is on the quiet end of the beach and our bungalow was cleaned daily. The food at the Craic House was quite good, we really liked the daily happy hour!

My husband and I are active divers in the Philippines and were extremely impressed by the professionalism and passion of the dive guides. We had a blast diving with Vince and Josh throughout the week. They were so friendly and approachable, even during the early hours for Monad Shoal!

We were lucky enough to dive Monad Shoal multiple times and while each dive was different, we saw the gorgeous thresher sharks each time. The dive boats were also large (good for social distancing!) and clean. We're already planning to go back again soon!

David and Nick helped coordinate our visit from beginning to end and it was fantastic! There isn’t much to see or do on Malapascua except scuba dive. The thresher dive was well worth the trip and the food onsite at Craic House was delicious. Understand there are severely limited resources on the island. Evolution offers relatively clean and comfortable accommodations, but this slice of paradise comes with a few imperfections. If you’re prepared they are easily overcome by the beautiful sunrises and gorgeous starry nights. Bring bug spray and an ounce of situational awareness and you’ll have a marvelous time.

Stayed here for 6 nights with a friend and did some diving. The resort is incredible, right on the beach, super clean, helpful and friendly staff. Everything is really comfortable and the island is easy to walk around. I did an open water course and had 1-1 instruction which was incredible. We also did a few fun dives - everything was really professionally organised and the staff were all really nice and adaptable.

Loved the hospitality and enthusiasm of the staff and dive crew, especially their eye for details such as remembering our names, allocating labelled gear baskets for each of us and supporting us every step of our dive trip! The drinks and food were delicious and large portions, and the bed and pillow blanket was so comfortable. Special shout out to dive instructors Vince and Elgin for looking out for me underwater all the time. Thank you Evo!

Yes there certainly are. We have 8 Deluxe AC rooms with 2 queen size beds and 4 with 1 queen and 1 single. Have a look on our website under the 'staying here' section and you'll see some pictures.

Their diving package gets cheaper as you dive more. Personally speaking their rates aren't that bad. But would I recommend them? NO. Just go to either Divenet or Thresher Shark Divers. They're much more professional and very accommodating even if you don't dive with them. And YES, guaranteed sighting of Threshers.
Answer from Technotrout

No. Simple answer. 24 - 28 meters of depth is enough to see the thresher sharks at Monad. :)
