People. It’s the people and the warm hospitality that attracts us to this place. And the establishment has its own ferry to transfer from maya port to resort, it’s own restaurant and it’s own dive centre. Everything is within a conversation away. Super convenient. We make the booking at ADEX and the package includes AOW, half board and boat transfer. We subsequently added on land transfers, fun dive and enhanced air NITROX course (SSI). Dive centre has full set of equipments and most cheerful service staff and trustworthy DMs. The patient of DM John to wait for the best video and encouragement relieved my anxiety of the water. The boat crews assisted with everything before and after your entrance of the seas. The half board meals (breakfast / lunch) were from the choices in the menu of the restaurant. Food hygiene and presentation are top notch. They even asked our choices of take away for an early morning dive follow by second dive. The restaurant staff knowing from the dive centre that we would not be back till 11am , waited for us to be back from dinner to enquire for our preference. People - the ultimate reason for you to stay at Kokay’s Maldito Dive Resort. Bonus: sunset view of Logon beach, food, dive crews and the dogs. Can’t wait to go back.

I would like to give a big "shout out" to the KoKay's Maldito Dive Shop on Malapascua Island, Philippines. This is the dive shop associated with the resort. Every aspect of my diving with them (10 dives) was fantastic! All the employees, from the dive operations ladies to the boat crew to the boat itself, were great. Especially the boat crew! They were so helpful in getting me in and out of the water, I could not have asked for better treatment. If you ever have a chance to go to Malapascua for diving, I HIGHLY recommend KoKay's Dive Shop.

We have eaten in here now 3 times and it has been excellent on each occasion. Food was well cooked to a high standard and quickly and efficiently served with a smile. The prices are very good and I highly recommend the chilli nachos if you are looking for a light lunch. My only negative is one evening there was live music and it was oppressively loud.

Over a month of travelling around Philippines and this has been by far the most amazing and our favourite place to stay, even though it was during typhoon. From the moment we walked in, we had a very warm welcome and were treated like part of the family for the duration of our stay. The rooms are beautiful and very well thought out, all have balconies or small terrace where you can relax. The main restaurant/bar area is also incredibly welcoming with comfortable tables and beds. There is a pool table, football table and various board games to keep you entertained. Huge choice of food, so you really will never be bored of eating here. I honestly can't praise this place enough!!

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of 3 weeks travelling through The Philippines. Had a truly wonderful time in the resort and would recommend it to anyone staying in Malapascua. First thing to mention is the boat journey from the mainland to the island. I definitely recommend getting on the boat early in the day, the later you leave it the choppier the water can be. On arrival to the beach we were met by 2 of the girls who presented us with a welcome drink and a shell necklace. I knew from this moment we were going to have a great time here. Rooms - stayed in the premium double room. Large comfy double bed with balcony overlooking the beach, separate shower and toilet and cheap minibar. Restaurant/Bar - large menu and everything we had was delicious Breakfast is a buffet but can get eggs, bacon, omelette's made to order also. Ate lunch and dinner here almost everyday. Pizza, curries, steak all extremely tasty and well cooked. Good atmosphere in the bar during the evening. Some background music playing through the speakers and pool/foosball tables there also. Diving - great team and enjoyable experience with Dive Society. We completed our Open Water Diver course with Jera and following that took the early morning trip to see the Thresher Sharks. Kalanggaman - the definition of a paradise Island and a great day trip well worth doing. We arranged with Jera in Dive Society who put us onto the day trip to Kalanggaman. PHP800pp for the boat transfer including lunch plus PHP500pp for entry fee to the island. Staff - couldn't be more helpful. Always smile and say hello when you are walking through the bar/restaurant. After writing this review I wish I could go back again tomorrow! Thanks to everyone at Kokay's Maldito who helped make our stay on Malapascua Island unforgettable

Kokay’s Resort is located In Malapascua, a famous destination for scuba divers looking for thresher sharks and mandarin fish 🐠. It’s more than 3 hours drive from Mactan International Airport plus a 15-minute boat ride to the Island of Malapascua. It offers excellent service, good food, hospitable and friendly staff, and homey room accommodation with stunning sunset. The diving service and dive sites are also amazing. It was a short trip but fun. Waking up at 4:00 a.m. everyday to see a thresher shark 🦈 was indeed a rewarding experience. I would never forget my first encounter with the thresher shark at 101 feet.

We book for a week to stay and dive. The staffs are super friendly and all waitresses are very beautiful and cute :). Due to the extension of the previous guest, we were arranged to the top roof room for 2 days in the beginning. It's a huge room with modern facilities, however, the slope shape of the roof, we had to be very careful when we were walking around the room. We hit the head and arms for few times. If the manager could provide some notice or protection would be much better. Also, it is a little bit not convenient for diver as there is no hanging place in/out of the room. Later we moved to the room we booked, it is a lovely room. The food in the resort is remarkably good with the big dish. As it was not the best season to dive, the visibility was not that good for early morning shark dive. Besides, if you are planning to do underwater photographic, it would be better to request a private guild as the DMs has different level. We would love to come back for future trip.
