The charming Boutique resort is a luxury home-away-from-home retreat, surrounded by a natural tropical garden near tranquil white-sand beaches on the beautiful Malapascua Island above the north tip of Cebu Island. The Resort consists of five duplex buildings, each with two comfortable rooms. Each room has a private bathroom with hot water supply, daily room service, WIFI internet access, Flatscreen 32” TV, Aircon with individual control, kingsize beds, safety deposit box and an delightful terrace. Guests can also enjoy massage. Privacy and relaxation are assured to visiting guests.
Very loud music at night, we asked the staff, they say there is a disco right next door, which has a party every Saturday, but only on Saturdays. If you choose this day, bring earplugs. You do not hear neighbors or other guests in the hotel. You order breakfast on a card and are served one dish and one drink (either coffee or pineapple juice). If you want more or something else, it costs extra. We think the breakfast is very basic. The shower is not very hot and the shower head holder could use a replacement, the shower falls down. The room is spacious and generally clean. Nice there is a closet and a table. The bed is comfortable, the linen clean, but old stains on the sheets and holes patched up. There is free drinking water to fill up at the reception, you are given one 1/2 liter drinking bottle per room. Bring your own if necessary. The water dispenser could use a thorough cleaning, doesn't look that appetizing. The staff are nice, friendly, smiling. The garden is nice and well maintained. Located 5 minutes walk from Bounty beach, which the hotel actually advises not to use because there is a lot of boat traffic and the risk of not being seen when swimming. Instead, they recommend the north beach, approx. 30 min walk or a ride on a scooter. We spent a few afternoons at Bounty Beach, it was okay, there are shady places and you can swim at the beach, just be aware of the boats. We walked to the north beach, but did not like it because of trash on the beach and too windy, but a nice walk up there.…

I would really recommend staying here. It is behind the main area of Malapascua and so it is lovely and quiet and the grounds are beautiful. We went for a Super Deluxe room that was cleaned daily with new towels. The breakfast was excellent each morning with great coffee. The owners and staff are super accommodating. We are staying for a week and love everything about this accommodation and the island.

I stayed there for six nights in the budget room. This hotel is quite a distance from the famous Bounty beach (15 min walking distance) where the most dive shops and restaurants are located. Hotel staff delayed my check-in by almost 3 hours from time scheduled by hotel in Agoda (10:00 a.m.). By the day check in, I was arriving at 10:00 a.m. and being told that room was not ready to check in. After few hours back to hotel I was still being asked to wait for the room as according to hotel staff check-in time in Agoda.com website was stated incorrectly. Room was outdated, broken down, and dirty. The furniture in the room was stains and there was a terrible damp old smell. Pictures of accommodation do not reflect the reality of it at least for budget room. The biggest downside is the water because they use "salt water" for tap and shower. As I understood the water they provided via the tap and shower is actually salt water filtered from the ocean as it is very salty and had weird taste especially had weird taste especially when you’re brushing teeth. They only provide body soap and shampoo and towels for toiletries. There are lots of hidden costs that may confuse you if you are travelling on budget. There is aircon in the room but you are allowed to use it only for extra cost (and this info was hidden in Agoda.com page). They do provide water only at the reception or at the restaurant for ₱20, so you have to have your own empty bottles to refill yourself. Breakfast was very mediocre with an additional cost ₱160. I do not advise to stay in this hotel as you can definitely find better options for this price. Transfer they provided is for around ₱2,500 one way for 2-3 persons. You can do it cheaper as following: Taxi from/to Mactan–Cebu International Airport to/from Cebu North Bus Terminal, PHP (₱): 230-250 Bus from/to Cebu North Bus Terminal to/from New Maya Port or Old Maya Port, PHP (₱): 200-230 Ferry from/to New Maya Port or Old Maya Port, PHP (₱): 100…

The owner is nice but the water here is salty even the shower and the water for sink is salty ..so when you do your toothbrush expect to drink gargle salty water.the doorknob is damage too has holes and we expected to have the room make up but it took soo long to do so..

The title probably sum up this resort. The location is probably not the best on the island. Hard to find. Nonetheless, the staff are excellent, service is commendable. Room is decent, don’t expect too much, it’s Malapascua anyway. Air con is working fine. Toilet is clean. Basic amenities.

The Malapascua Garden Resort (locally only known as “MGR”) is a beautiful, quiet, highly maintained, very relaxing resort. Place about 8 years old, run by very kind filipino owner and her german husband. High-standard apartments, new and spotlessly clean, the whole resort actually has a higher standard than visible on the web. We found it perfect for families, to be a bit away from the more noisy seaside resorts. Things we loved: the truly beautiful flower garden (again, much more amazing then the internet photos), the extremely kind and attentive personell, the cleanliness of the resort. Feels like heaven.

We stayed overnight at MGR on Jan. 28. We booked for 5 rooms. We arrived there after 1PM and the very nice lady (probably the owner) showed us our rooms except one which was still being cleaned. We were 11AD+1CH but she didn’t charge us extra. Rooms were lovely and nicely decorated. Also clean. It’s not at the beach front but only takes like 5-10 minutes if you want to go to the beach. They also asked us if we wanted to go to Kalanggaman Island. Maybe next time. Breakfast was okay.

I stayed a couple of nights and wanted to extend but they were fully booked. Lovely resort centrally located next to the Philipino market place. Dead quiet location, very welcoming and smiling staff. My room was a good size and shower worked well (just be aware the main water supply is half salted throughout the island). Breakfast was good too. Nothing to fault. Thanks to the staff for my lovely stay at your place. :))

Arrived early and was immediately provided a room. Gardens were very well maintained as were all buildings. One would never know the resort was severely damaged during typhoon Hainan. Small family owned, which showed in the special service provided. Restaurant only served breakfast but personnel went offsite with us to procure a dinner during our last nite. Well prepared breakfast with surprise visit from owner who shared papaya from their plants on the grounds. Website sold us on the resort and we learned it was designed by the husband.Very helpful in booking tours and getting dive equipment for the tour. Also onsite massage service
