MG Matterhorn is a small Guesthouse in Logon, Malapascua Island, Philippines. Its only 3 min from the Bounty Beach away. The Guesthouse Has only 3 rooms but they are quite spacious with a good European standard. All with private bathroom with power shower, room safe, balcony, window grills. Free WiFi. Two rooms have air con, if you like. The problem for air con is the horrible price of the electricity in Malapascua. If you are using air con whole day, you must pay 500 pesos per day more. If you are using only at night, its cheeper. The room rates are starting from 700 Philippine pesos, fan room, low season until 1300 pesos high season.

Marites is the perfect host, quiet, calm, professional and always with a beautiful smile. Andre, her son, it's such a cute and sweet boy. The house is perfect, the room wide, big, the bed comfortable and good price. Safe place and close to everything. Awesome stay!

MG Matterhorn is a great guesthouse for the budget traveller: we paid 600 piso (low season) for a big fan room with a private bathroom. The fan was enough to keep us cool during October nights, there was good pressure in the shower and the WiFi was pretty good! Guido the owner is very nice and he brought us to Sea Slug Divers with whom he usually dives (we were really happy about them too). The guesthouse is 5 minutes walk from the beach and there are cheap eateries all around. Highly recommended!

My partner and I wanted to stay a couple of days longer than planned and as out initial hotel was fully booked we found matterhorn. The lady in charge was very friendly, the room was big and clean. You need to be careful with the ants and our Ac didn't work, but we had a fan. Matterhorn is really cheap and the market and a beach are around the corner. Thanks for the stay, we can definitely recommend it!!!

We stayed for almost 3 weeks split over 2 different stays. This 2 story building only has 5 rooms and is popular with people staying on the island for an extended time. The rooms are a good size with private bathroom. They have a table and chairs and a decent bed. The shower is only cold water but it is so hot you get used to it very quickly. The price was much more reasonable than the places on the beach and felt like good value for the island especially if you stayed more than a week (probably not great compared to what you can find in other places of Asia). The room is only cleaned once a week. The property is very secure. The husband was not there during our stay so we only dealt with Marites who was a lovely lady and nice to chat with. There was confusion with dates available and prices but not a big problem. Definitely recommend.

We saw lots of expensive places in Malapascua so we were happy to find an affordable one! What a great surprise : big room with a couch, windows, clean room and bathroom! The staff is very nice as well, we received tips for dinners or dives, they also arranged a laundry for us. For the price, it's the best value we found in Philippines.

My boyfriend and I stayed at MG Matterhorn for 6 nights. - It wasn't hard to find as the tour guides at the pier guide you to its location or you can simply follow the laminate signs on the lamp posts and buildings. - We stayed in the fan room and it sufficed in keeping us cool. - There was no hot water though. At first I was disappointed but as the days progressed, realised that there was no need to have hot water. - The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. We made a reservation via email two months before arriving and no deposit was expected. We paid cash on arrival which was great. - Our belongings were secured - nothing was lost or stolen. - The room was spacious, clean, had a safe, table and chairs, mosquito-coverings on the window, flushing toilet, closets and drawers and a broom. - Very close to the cheap restaurant called Ging-Ging's and Garden resort. - Overall a great place to stay - not overpriced (you get what you paid for) - Note that you should ask for clean towels and a roll of toilet paper if you utilise/dirty it faster than most. The owner did leave a roll of toilet paper at our window every few days.

Was staying for 3.5 months on Malapascua for a Divemaster Internship. After being very disappointed with the first accommodation I walked around the island to find another place to stay. Luckily MG Matterhorn had an available room in just a few days. I did not regret to wait for that room to become available at all. I was in (I think the only) room with no aircon which was very affordable on a monthly rate. Thanks to the location and alignment of the rooms the fan was good enough to cool down at night for sleep. The bed was very comfortable, the room had 2 cupboards and small table with chairs. Compared to some other resorts I saw the room was also quite spacious. The bathroom is clean and always was in working condition (which is not the case with other accommodations on Malapascua island). The room gets cleaned and bedsheets/towels changed once a week which was always flawless. The owner, Marites and Guido, living next door have been very kind and helpful in everything I needed. There is free wifi in the room which worked alright but sometimes (especially in the evenings) was very slow, although that is basically the case for everyone else on the island as well. The Guesthouse is located a little bit into the island, walking to the beach in just a few minutes. Because it is not located at one of the "main roads" and there is just one local family living next to it, it is remarkably more quiet than many of the other resorts (motorbikes and cockerels can be very loud on the island, especially at night). Also to note are the two hammocks which were a great place to study for my dive classes. Thanks Marites and Guido! I had a very pleasant stay with you and would love to come back again sometime.

Stayed here for 5 nights in the big room. The room was clean, big bathroom and always a cool wind on the island so no airco needed. Owners are also very friendly and this room made our stay on the island perfect!! We would come back to this place for sure.

As a solo traveller it can often be hard to find affordable rooms so I was very happy to find this guesthouse. The rooms are modern and clean and the owner very helpful and friendly. I booked online by email and always got quick responses which made it very easy. The location is also easy to find from the port and is only a 5 min walk to the main beach. Would stay here again when If I come back to malapascua.

I am so happy I took a wrong turn and stumbled upon this guesthouse! I had given up on trying to find good value budget accommodation in Malapascua when I accidentally walked down the wrong road and saw MG Matterhorn and a smiling owner sitting outside. I was elated when I saw the room: it was clean, the price was good, and the wifi was strong. The trifecta when you're looking to get more for your money and save your travel budget for scuba diving! Guido and his wife Marites are the owners and they are so welcoming. They made our stay here on the island that much more memorable. The day we arrived Guido showed us the best places to eat and dive. His recommendations were all fantastic! We could've stayed at the MG Matterhorn for a month! Malapascua is a lovely island with a wonderful community of locals and expats. The diving was awesome make sure not to miss the Tresher shark dive, Gato Island, the sunset dive for the Mandarin Fish and Chocolate for macro. There are so many types of nudis around. All in all 100% recommend if you're a traveler who is seeking good overall value in accommodation! Will come back here again :-)
