Detailed Reviews
Far too expensive, and not worth it.
A deluxe room worth P3,500 no tv and ref.
Must pay in cash because they’re gonna charge 5% for every transaction if you pay by card.
If you’re going to dine at the restaurant you better bring water with you. Every room for two is entitled only for 2 glasses of water and 1 refill. If you ask for more they’re gonna charge P25/pitcher. Where in the world are you gonna find a restaurant charging a customer for the water? Only at D Avilas Horizon. Not going back and advise all my friends and relatives not to go there.
By the way, our room has a free plated breakfast but it took them 1 hour and 18 minutes for our food to be served which consists only of tocino, egg, and rice. They well also charge corkage fee of P500/item and the owners are not friendly.

Room Tip: Don’t go to D Avilas. Better spend your money where it is worth its price.

Worst food ever. I ordered fish fillet and it was one of the worst dishes I ever tried. The fish was super dry and the rice was like it had been made 3 days ago. Maybe I was unlike with my choice and other options are nice but do not try the fish fillet and I strongly recommend to avoid the rice. I rate it with a 2 because of the mango shake which was explendid. I am not only going to mention the horrible food.

I don't understand the score so low. The structure is cozy and clean, the rooms spartan, but comfortable and have a terrace with armchairs. The restaurant is great: everything cooked well, large portions and also cheap. The beach is the most beautiful on the island without a doubt.
The staff is friendly.
They also have laundry facilities.
My friends went diving and were very satisfied with both the experience and the cost.
The only flaw: the roosters start to crow early in the morning and the rooms overlook the courtyard where there is the chicken coop. I have often seen the sunrise.

i want absolutely to rate their restaurant even if i didn't stayed in the resort because i like the people that put love in their job. fish always fresh and prepared properly, landscape amazing, service welcoming and friendly, cheapest prices on the island. filipino kitchen you must try.

I can relate to some of the comments below in some ways but I still think it deserves a 5 for the price.
Our room was small with a shared bathroom on the floor below. But this is what I expected really.
The location is right on the beach which was lovely and clean.
It's on the north of the island which is away from all of the other resorts where the boat brings you into from mainland Cebu. There are no cars or tricycles on the island only scooters, we had big backpacks so decided to walk which is actually a very long way and extremely hot obviously, but googlemaps guided us there easy enough.
Wifi is a bit hit and miss but it seems to be the way on all the small islands we have travelled to in the last 7 months not just in the Philippines.
Breakfast is good. Some of the other meals we had weren't our favourites and there aren't any other places to eat closeby either.
Staff were all excellent. We spoke to the owner a few times as well as the new manager Queenie who was super helpful.
Everyone is different but it's actually been my favourite place to stay during our 3 weeks in the Philippines. Mainly due to the fact there arent any other hotels on the beach up north so its lovely and relaxing.

Avoid this place!
Rooms are ok but with view to motorbike parking or a civil works.
Noisy building workplace (8am-7pm) makes impossible for quiet sunbathing on a beautiful beach,
weak WiFi works only in reception area.
Receptionist doesn't know nothing.
On a beach bar you have to wait more than a hour for small and expensive dishes.
Do not recommend.

The good things about this hotel are the clean room (new hotel and still under construction) and the fact that it is located on the best beach of the island - up north, 10mins by motorbike.
The beach is very clean and quiet. Unlike the beaches in the south where the view is blocked by tons of local ships.
Reaching the hotel is easy, you can find mototaxis everywhere in the south beach. The problem is rather, finding one up north to go south. The hotel is supposed to provide some kind of transportation or at least help you find a mototaxi but the staff of the hotel doesn’t really care. More on that below. So if you’re unlucky you have to walk for 40 mins in the burning sun.
Also the staff was very unfriendly. I believe they have never gotten any hospitality training. They did not make you feel welcomed and never made an effort to provide the information you asked. And favors? No chance.
The food was one of the most disappointing I had and even way too overpriced.
They have breakfast sets, that include instant coffee or instant iced tea that may cause diabetes concerning the sugar content.
Just make day trips to this beach. Our advice.

The staff are accomodating and friendly.
The rooms are wide, big and properly arrange for each perspective categories( Deluxe, Dormitory, Atik, Family room and Queen Rooms)
They even offer tour packages that are cheaper than the nearest town.
We did the snorkeling, free diving & cliff jumping & it was just cheap and amazing.
The place has Bean bags for soft sun bath relaxing, kayak and paddle boards. I am definitely going back here with my family next summer.

Following a local friend's recomendation, we stayed here for couple of nights and it was nothing short of amazing experience especially for first time visitors on the island like us.
Travel from the port to the accomodation via local "habal-habal" (single motorcyle) was quite an adventure and we arrived nearly about after 10min of fun road trip on this quaint area on the northern part of the island, away from the hustle and bustle situation we initially witnessed when we arrived in town and other hotels near the port area.
The facilities and rooms are modern and we were warmly welcomed in their newest family villa that comfortably accomodates 6-7 guests which perfectly suits us as a travelling group.
There's an ongoing construction for additional villas during day time, which is highly tolerable since we were always out and about, plus the local workers beside us made us feel like they're our bunch of friendly neighbors.
We love the idea that the place has direct access to the white sand beach where rich marine resources abound. Also perfect for sunrise and sunset watching hangouts.
Food are surprisingly great with variety of options and we appreciate the fact that the cook was flexible enough to prepare food request especially for some of us who follows certain diet restrictions.
The highlight for us was ofcourse all the water and island hopping activities where we were directly picked up and returned by the resort's private pump boat without having the need for us to travel back and forth to designated busy tourist ports which could have been quite a hassle given the limited amount of time we have on the island.
All in all, we were grateful to the experience albeit short, more so a great value for money.
