Nice Resort with good dive center, the dm and helpers are good and helpful. The rooms is spacious and clean. The restaurant food is yummy and only setback is that it take long to serve your orders, so we could only have our dinner in the restaurant when we have the luxury time to wait. And do take note that the resort will charge admin fee if payment by credit card.

The rip off started at the ferry terminal..admission is double price for westerners..and a seat on the boat will cost much more for a westerner too..blatant rip off..I couldn't believe that Filipinos and westerners have different charges..ok..then onto the island...I must have picked up golf a kilo of broken glass from the beach in first hour..keep your shoes on..and 👞 was everywhere..mangy dogs roaming around..and plastic was floating everywhere... disappointed to say the least.

We were part of a diving trip based at this hotel. Firstly, I must say that if this review was for the diving operation, it would be 5* - the dive centre staff and team were excellent. Well organised and cheerful bunch but professional to the last. They are all pretty good spotters and led the groups of ~4 with that great balance of organisation but not nannying. Dives were typically 60mins plus or minus a bit. Nitrox was available but as an extra and we were usually doing 2 or 3 dives a day. Sunset and night dives on their house reef were also available and unusually good for a house reef. There's extra fees to pay at some sites due to local taxes and park fees to be aware of. The only complaint (if you can call it that) was that there's not really enough 15L cylinders and some people felt that others were getting them more often than they were. I don't know if that's the case or if it was people just thinking it was, but there you go. The bangkas had lots of space on them and quickly got to there and back. The shuttle boats could use an exhaust silencer (they are really loud) but could fit the entire group on. Kit was brought in and back by the team on a separate run so we could just breeze in and out at will. The centre has plenty of space and dunk tanks though a hardcore tog might worry at only 1 setup bench for them next to their own dedicated dunk tank. In summary then, this is pretty much everything we'd hope for in such a location. If you want spoiling or hand holding, it might be different but our group of experienced divers felt safe, welcomed and everything we wanted to see and do was accommodated with easy professionalism. So why the 3 star review? The resort is right next to a small village and the wretched cockerels shout at each other from about 04:00 until twilight. Now that might not bother some but there are dozens of cocks and the suspicion is they are fighting cocks, so they don't shut up. Ever. One crows and the rest can't leave that unchallenged. They got a bit of competition at 05:00ish when the gas cylinders were brought down from the filling station, clanging and ringing as they go. Also, it seems the locals like karaoke and whilst they need the practice for the most part, hours each afternoon/evening can get a bit wearing. Didn't bother me too much though, as the cocks drowned it out for the most part and our local girl had a lovely voice. The biggest issue for us all was the problems with the details. The rooms were nice and clean, with individual aircon (which was pretty noisy but worked), bathrooms etc. The food was generous in portion size and tasty. Drinks were likewise. But (and it is a fairly big but) food orders were messed up or just forgotten from time to time, it was sometimes hard to get the waitress' attention, not everything on the menu was available and choice for a veggie is limited. Water isn't free - this is the only place I've come across that works that way. Pizzas are made fresh for you but it seems the chef likes to make one at a time and all food is served when ready regardless, so if you have ordered two pizzas, too bad as the first one will be ready 20mins before the second. Main courses turn up with starters. Dish 2 comes with dish 1 but 1 is now cold. When it comes to the rooms, we asked for 2 days to get our water bottle replaced but nothing happened. Another couple had no running water (hot or cold) for a day then the cold was restored but the hot took another few days. It's such a shame as these constant niggles knocked the edge of what was otherwise a great trip for our party (of experienced travellers who are pretty easy to please) - the dive team have it down tight and tidy but the hotel gives the impression of good enough is enough, rather than concentrating on getting it right.

LOCATION: Best of the island. The beach is clean, the surroundings are quiet and peaceful. ROOM: Clean, good consistent hot shower, strong AC, cleaned everyday, comfortable clean bed. FOOD: Breakfast buffet very good... totally worth the price. Omelets and coffee very good. For dinner, real pizza oven great pizzas. The mango daiquiri was great. STAFF: Hardworking and so kind, helpful, and friendly. We were especially impressed with the kindness of the staff. ACTIVITIES: We took a boat ride to snorkel around the island that ended with a beautiful sunset. Totally recommend it. Thank you very much for making our stay so exceptionally wonderful. We will be back for sure. :)

We stayed at the Exotic with the hope of seeing Thresher sharks. Every time we visited Kimud shoal we saw upto 10-15 sharks. This was due to the highly experienced dive guide Paul and his team. His knowledge of how to interact with the sharks was exceptional.

The exotic resort is nice and staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was fine but pretty basic for the amount paid, there was an additional charge to have water in the room. The food was really good and they also had their own pizza oven which was great! Dive centre resort was super nice, they were very helpful and ran dives in very small groups. The thresher shark dives are amazing but are pretty far from the island. Finally the beach… there was rubbish all over the beach including plastic, bottles, can and glass. The locals and the staff didn’t seem bothered about the rubbish at all and it meant that not many people were leaving the hotel to visit the local village. If they cleaned up the island it could be great for diving tourist but at the moment I wouldn’t be in a rush to go back.

Arrived at the tourist Centre to book a seat on the boat to the island..there is a charge just yo enter the area..100 pesos for Filipinos..500 pesos if you are white...this is separate from the boat ticket and no explanation about this charge. The boat fare was also much more for a white person than for a Filipino..absolute discrimination..finally arrived at Malapascua Island to find the beach strewn with rubbish ..and I picked up numerous handfuls of broken glass from the sand as I was walking..I entered a toilet near the beach front and refused to enter.it was absolutely filthy...ended up peeing in the sea..I was told the island was beautiful 10 yeas ago..but it has certainly a health hazard now.

Visited this resort many times. Feels like coming home. Room is perfect (Beach Front Room). Always clean and good service. The staff is so kind and friendly. The best dive master an extra demanding diver like myself can ask for. The owners will help you to the best! I hope to come back soon!
