We stayed at Exotic for four nights. The room was spacious, AC not too loud and everything very clean. The beach might be the best you find on the hotel strip and because it is a few meters away from the main ferry landing spot, it is also very quiet. Lovely!
The best thing is the staff though. Breakfast choice is anyhow decent but we were happy every morning to be greeted by the waitresses and waiters. A special thanks to Angelica and Ray who made our stay very very pleasant.
The only downside was a little hiccup with reservations, which is why I deducted one star. The resort was still available to book on Agoda, so we extended our stay according to that, only to be told at reception that they were fully booked. After some back and forth, we were told on the morning of checkout that we could stay at the resort. That process was a bit uneasy, also because even after our query, the place was still available online.
However, I would definitely come back

The resort was well organised and the staff were a delight. The beach in front of the resort is kept clean and wonderful for the kids to play on, as well snorkel and swim. Water shoes would be helpful as there are sea urchins further out! The food at the restaurant is excellent and well-priced - we ate elsewhere and realised it wasn't worth it. The dive team are great and the guides know the sites well and make it enjoyable too. We would definitely return! The diving with thresher sharks was unforgettable.

The exotic resort is nice and staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was fine but pretty basic for the amount paid, there was an additional charge to have water in the room.

The food was really good and they also had their own pizza oven which was great!

Dive centre resort was super nice, they were very helpful and ran dives in very small groups. The thresher shark dives are amazing but are pretty far from the island.

Finally the beach… there was rubbish all over the beach including plastic, bottles, can and glass. The locals and the staff didn’t seem bothered about the rubbish at all and it meant that not many people were leaving the hotel to visit the local village.

If they cleaned up the island it could be great for diving tourist but at the moment I wouldn’t be in a rush to go back.

Stayed here for one night with free bfast when we got in the island. We had 3 rooms for us the whole family. When we arrived at the resort, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. They gave us welcome drinks and it was awesome because we were dead tired from long haul travel from cebu city and it was quite long walk from the place where we got dropped off and walked to the hotel.

Room was super clean and we had a little patio. It was super relaxing night hanging out at the white sand beach spending quality time with my family. We had free.buffet bfast and it was just met my expectations. They made really good lattes. Buffet in front of the beach and cook your favorite egg styles fresh, fresh fruits. It was totally a worth staying here and definitely coming back for my next vacation.

We stayed in that place by accident. Had actually booked an airbnb that didnt answer, so we needed to find sthg lastminute. Booked while we were waiting to catch the last boat towards the island malapascua. And because it was so lastminute, we got a big suite for a very low price. Big terasse, right next to the ocean. Lots of privacy. Calmness. Beautiful resort: pool, garden, beach are... all nice and clean and very well maintained. Breakfast was super yummie.

Wish we could have stayed longer. But they were totally booked (it was Christmas time... i know...).

They have a very good equipped and managed dive center!

Make sure you arrive in daylight - the resort is placed on the other side of the island. No cars. Its tricky to get there :)

Unfortunately, we couldn’t reach the resort as all ferries were canceled due to the unexpected typhoon. Very disappointing that the resort didn’t agree on at least a partial refund, knowing we won’t be able to enter the island. So we ended up paying for all four nights plus four more nights at a new resort where we got stuck.

Diving:
Me and my girlfriend did our advanced open water course here and it was great! We would strongly recommend this dive shop!

Chris and Kimberly made our time diving with Exotic fun and we felt safe doing all the learning objectives. All dives was great and we learned new things every day!

Chris is an excellent, dive instructor with lots of experience. His relaxed attitude and humor made learning extremely fun. From our aspirations we could plan all of our dives together to learn as much as possible while still seeing all the amazing reefs.

We did 2 dives at the Monad shoal-site (shark spot) and saw a lot of shark both times! They are incredible!
House Reef is nice and also a good place for a first night dive :)

Food:
Wide selection of both “western” and “Asian” cuisine with varying quality. Good for lunch but maybe not dinner. Great breakfast though!

This resort caters for the higher end and has all creature comforts. Many people return again and again. The dive operation is reasonably sound though it certainly needs a tighter level of organization and communication than was evident: boats frequently leave late and it is the tank attachment or gas use that connects people with guides rather than experience which is an odd way to do things. They could do with slowing down to really see macro as well. There are new dive center managers so it is to be hoped it changes.

What definitely needs to change is customer service in the restaurant. It is infernally slow and unresponsive. You have to be prepared for a long wait to order and for the food and some of that is seriously below par. Breakfast of hard overcooked bacon and eggs swimming in fat on my last day summed the place up: sloppy. It needs much more proactive management to get it back to the standards it used to have.

The dining experience in Exotic was extraordinary! Chef Marco’s Italian dishes featured genuine Italian ingredients cooked perfectly. Noodles were home made and al dente, the pizzas were cooked to a fine crisp and flavors blended marvelously in a wood and gas fired oven. Our fav dishes: parpadelle pasta with shrimp, pizza diavola, barco salsicha, crispy snapper accompanied by a divine risotto. I will really look forward to coming back!

Hi MicknShin, You would need to contact the property directly to ask about the Open Water Course availability. We made arrangements for transport to and from the ferry before travelling. we got picked up at the airport in a very comfortable van / mini bus as its a fairly long drive to the port. Once you are off the ferry, they drop you on the beach. Turn right and walk along the path for about 10 minutes and you will find it....you cant miss it.

My transfer from Cebu airport was included in the price, which my travel agent had dealt with the resort. I think they offer it as a facility, no additional cost. But email them first, in order to be sure.
