This is a nice clean apartment style hotel about 100 meter walk to a nice long beach. The hotel is modern with a combination of oven/fridge /sink in each room which makes it easy for self-catering on a simple basic level. The hotel has a section of the beach with a very nice set up of lounge chairs umbrellas and a wash room/toilet/changing area cabanna for which you receive a key. Pretty good idea! Deco of the rooms is pinks and reds - definitely not neutral. The town is a ten minute walk away and this is perhaps the only down side of staying here - do not expect much at all in the way of restaurants and cafes - the town is notably quite lacklustre. BUT if you want a simple get away vacation with a lovely beach to walk to and a nice clean place to stay then this will work!

Travelling from Igoumenitsa to Turkey we found Asprovalta to be a convenient and restful place for a one night stay. Maria helped us to get checked in and provided the all important wifi login! The apartment was well furnished and cheerful. Useful little fridge with a freezer. After a good night's sleep it was a pleasant breakfast in the garden. Well worth a visit. They also have a lovely beach unit for which guests have a key to access.

Nice place This was our second stay at Assamaris. Our first visit was 2 years ago in early September, and now we had a holiday of 10 days at the end of June 2016. We booked 2 rooms, a triple room for me, my husband and 3 years old child, and a superior double room for the grandparents. The superior double room had a seaview. The sea is not next to the hotel. There are about 10 minutes of walk to the beach (it's a pleasant walk), but the superior are on higher floors, so you can see a glimpse of the sea over the buildings. Having 2 rooms we saw the differences between a superior and a normal room. Beside the Seaview, there are also the furnishings that are a different thing, starting from the bathroom (the toilet seat, the sink, the shower) -all was new, to the light in the room which was much better in the superior. From the point of space, both rooms were quite big for Greek standard. I would recommend more storage space in the rooms. The wardrobe was really tiny in both of them, but instead we had about 3 vases/pots with artifical flowers in them per room. It was a nice touch, but we actually had to pack the vases because we needed more room (space). So maybe a few more furniture and less decor would help in the future to make the rooms more comfortable. Also, please put some nails in the right place for the pictures above the bed in the triple room. They were just placed there, not secured and they felled in our heads when we moved. So decor is nice, but do not make it crowd the room when it is small. The kitchen has 2 electric hot plates (cooking stove), lots of dishes and pots, and cutlery. There is also a fridge in the kitchen area. The sheets and towels were changed at 3 days period and they were imaculate (really clean and pure white). The room was quite clean, but there was bed smell coming from the pipes in the kitchen and bathroom. Air-conditioning was working good, and the rooms had blinds on the windows in order to keep the sun out. The balcony was big with 2 chairs and a table and a place to hang the towels to dry. The overall atmosphere of the place was nice, and we enjoyed our stay. We had the badluck of having in the hotel a large group of rude and noisy people with children. The noise was an issue which we had in both rooms. For the superior room the entrance-door did not isolate the noise, and the stairs had echo, and at noon there were children running down the stairs and slamming the doors. My parents couldn't rest in the afternoons because of the noise. For the triple rooms, they are situated in a 2 floors building which is close to the yard. The noisy people stood in the yard until 1:00 or 2:00 am and we felt like they were right next to us in the room. There were football matches during the period which might be a cause, but also there was one night when 2 Greek old guys brought 2 acoustic guitars and starting singing in the middle of the yard. It would have been nice, if the hour was appropriate -- but not when it started at 23:00 at night when our child was asleep already and they waked him. So, maybe setting up some rules for the guests would be a thing to consider. No noise after 0:00 would have been a first rule. Breakfast was really good. It was nice eating in the garden each morning with your feet in the grass. Wi-Fi had good signal throughout the rooms and the yard. It didn't work in the bathroom and also there is no Wi-Fi at the beach. Big flat screen TV in all the rooms. But almost all the channels were just in Greek, no International. The beach is with sand and pebbles. For the sun lounges, you have to eat/drink something of 3 euro /person in order to occupy them. The water was crystal-clear most of the days. We had some waves in the last 2 days, but there were nice. The Asprovalta resort is nice. With long places to walk around and lots of bars, cafeterias and restaurants near the side-walk, facing the sea. There are also lots of trees. 2 years ago there were more playgrounds areas for the kids. Now they decay and most of the swings on the beach could not be used. This is the city hall fault for not repairing them. There are also some coin-machines for the children (or grown-ups) to play. From Bucharest, it took us 10 hours to reach it by car (we made stops on the way of about 1 hour and there are also 2 border stops, where it depends how much time you loose) Overall, we had a lovely holiday, but I am not sure that I would come back to Assamaris. It was clean and nice, but the noise was a bit of a problem.

I just returned from Assamaris Hotel for the third time! You know, the time there goes so fast! Prepare to relax and take life easy, the Greek way! The hotel is in an ideal position, the beach is 3 minutes walk, the grocery store /Elleniki Store/ - 5 minutes. Maria is fabulous, as is everyone there - a lot of friendliness, warmth and - last but not least - many languages spoken! The breakfast is lazy on the beautiful green lawn, cleanliness is as it always was. We will be there next year again, no doubt!
