You must have a car, otherwise you cant approach the tenuta.
Hard to find it even with GPS, because the streets can be closed for traffic for recovery.

Excellent location for visiting all the attractions on the east coast of Sicily.

Magnificient views from the terrace and the pool.

Breakfast is as anywhere in Sicily: cakes. But they are fresh and delicious. I only missed fresh fruit juice, they served common orange juice from the box. Excellent espresso coffee.

The girl serving the breakfast is very nice and helpful, she is a real gem, knows everything, helps even with phone calls to translate italian.

When we were staying there, the Etna was activ, we heard its thundering all the time, and in dark the lavaflow could be seen. It was fantastic.

Rooms are spacious, good wifi and AC. The bathroom was a little bit cramped.

If you need towels for the pool, ask them at breakfast because later it's impossible to find anybody.

The railway right behind the house was mornings disturbing.

A part of the garden is a building plot, noise of construction work can be loud.

We extremely enjoyed our stay.

To begin with, let’s be candid: this place is, as they say, in the middle of nowhere. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you want.
It was very difficult to get to (we got lost trying to find it, despite google maps), the road to it is not for the faint of heart and you need a car if you’re staying here (free parking available).
But believe me when I say that the road to hell brought us right to paradise.

The grounds are incredible: beautiful views, huge grounds with paths, citrus grove, mini-botanical garden (with explanatory signs), children’s play area, mini-farm and even an old lava flow.

The infinity pool is amazing: long, deep and with amazing views. The pool area has plenty of chairs, shade and even a nearby bathroom (so you don’t have to go back to your room). There is a regional rail line that runs next to the Tenuta, but the few trains were surprisingly quiet and we barely noticed them.

There are only a dozen rooms, so I can’t imagine that you would ever feel crowded. We almost always felt as though we had the place to ourselves.
The standard room (90€) was great, very clean and huge. A big living room with TV, AC, a small fridge, desk, couch, coffee table and everything to make tea/coffee. The bedroom had plenty of space, a huge comfortable bed, closet space and a combination safe. The bathroom was also very big, with a very good shower. Everything was clean and in good order. They provide pool towels, but you must request them.

Service is professional and courteous, but very timid. This is both good and bad: Good because you really feel as if you own the place. But bad when you are looking for something (like pool towels or to pay your bill). This is compounded by the fact that they not have a “front desk”.

The included breakfast was a little repetitive, but plentiful and delicious. Coffee any way you like it, fresh juices, croissants, cookies, yogurts and fruit salad. Occasionally they had granitas and also freshly squeezed lemon juice.
You can purchase salads for lunch at 10€ each that were very big and delicious. Restaurants are available 10 to 15 minutes drive away.

We did not get to try the Turkish bath/spa, as it was not open yet.

Suffice to say that I would go back without hesitation.

Tenuta Santa Tecla is absolutely beautiful with large grounds and lemon and orange groves, a playground, a wonderful swimming pool and even a mini-zoo for children. The breakfast area is perfect, sitting on a lovely terrace with views across the island to the sea. Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. There is of course wifi.

The rooms are very comfortable and stylish, although our bathroom was a little strange with a walk-in shower retrofitted with a bath with jacuzzi jets that didn't work!

There are small friendly restaurants nearby in Santa Tecla though we preferred Aci Trezza.

Cons
- Difficult to find, treacherous roads
- Parking difficult especially when other guests take up two parking spaces
- sometimes difficult to find the owners. One night a Dutch lady knocked at our apartment looking for lady of the house!
- although advertised, there is no lunch available in the low season in May
- Breakfast is a little bit "first up, best dressed". It is supposed to run till 10am, but we came one day at 9am and it was basically bare. We were told they would make me croissants, but it would take 20 minutes.
- There was very little shade despite seeing obvious anchors for sunsails. This is obviously only for the high season (it was 23 degrees the week we were there)
- If you want peace and quiet...there were families with small children, and a chainsaw working away in the grounds
- The lady of the house could have been friendlier (although it seemed to help if you were French). On our arrival, instead of a smile and a welcome of "Hello Mr and Mrs X!" (they don't have hundreds of arrivals each day) we were looked at as if we were burglars and asked if we had a reservation

My wife and I spent 3 nights in Tenuta Santa Tecla.
As it was off-season, we happened to be the only guests, nevertheless the service was fully running.
We loved the room and the strolls in the lemon/orange gardens, the agriturismo is very well equipped (swimming pool, gym, etc). The breakfast was amazing (could have easily been for 8 persons :) ) and the employees extremely friendly and helpful.

We would highly recommend Tenuta Santa Tecla...

We stayed 3 nights at this beautiful place. and I would HIGHLY recommend it. We used it as a base to visit Mt. Etna, Taormina, etc. The woman that manages, Nicole is amazing. So nice and really went out of her way to ensure we had a great time and everything we needed. I signed up for the "Welcome Massage" and the owner's wife Angela did the massage. It was probably the best massage I have ever had!
What a great way to start a vacation!

The views from the breakfast area and pool are amazing, with the sea.
The rooms are basic but adequate. We have a family with 2 kids so needed 2 large beds. The air conditioning unit was only in one room, but it wasn't a big deal. There is a fridge and safe in the room. For families with kids, they have a little farm with animals and a playground. The pool was the highlight for our kids. It's huge and a great view of the ocean. The breakfast was the best breakfast in any place we stayed in Italy. They have a chef who comes in and makes all homemade pastries , eggs (which you don't typically get with the B&B),etc.

There is a train that runs by occasionally, but we did not find it to be a problem in terms of noise.

I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone.

Tenuta Santa Tecla is located close to Acireale and its position is very good to visit most of the major attractions on the east coast (actually we easily drove to Valle dei Templi and Piazza Armerina in one day... ).
The hotel is really comfortable and clean and benefits of a spectacular view.
The breakfast is genuine based on local products (honey, pistachio, fresh orange juice....) and you can enjoy it on a wonderful terrace.
The owners are very kind and they are available to help you with any need you may have. They will host you warmly and friendly.... do not miss this place!

Very happy with our stay.
Agree with all other reviewers.
If you're travelling with toddlers, consider staying in the villas that are separate from the main building.
The main building has a few rooms, the breakfast terrace and the pool.
But it also has many many steps. My 2 year old bumped her had against the corner of one of the steps on the very first day.

Then we got upgraded to the villas that stand a 5 min walk away from the main building (through the gardens). And it was a bliss. No steps nearby. Just a very friendly cat. The animals enclosure was 30 metres away, same as the playground. Much closer than from the main building.
They are a bit more expensive. But no head bumps! :)

Only Nicole speaks a bit of English.
We would feel more comfortable if we could speak and understand each other more easily. But hey, they compensated it with a very warm welcome every morning :)

P.S. might be important for your kids :) When we stayed, the animals included lots of chicken, 2 roosters, a few geese, goats (you can actually get inside of their enclosure). One old looking duck and a rabbit plus a few parrots were inside a big cage you can't go in. I couldn't find this info :) Hope this helps!

This place is so nice and has so good people working there. Nicole and Fabiana, the two girls that works there are so service minded and so warm, you can feel the reel thing from the minute you enter the gate. There is a garden and a playground like a botanic garden and the swimming pool is clean, big and with a great view:) Food is good, and if tou go there you have to taste Fabianas best lemon icecream, the best ever tasted:)
We had our two small children(3-5) with us, and the only thing that maybe was not fantastic, was that they had to be a more quiet than normally on a vaccation. The place is best for adults and for children from about 6 years old.

With my partner, I spent 4 relaxing days in the tenuta. We enjoyed the beauty of the place, a gorgeous view over the sea, a garden full of the flavours and scents of Sicily, a rich bio breakfast and the kindness of the staff. The room is comfortable, well equipped and clean, wifi works as well. There is a little comfortable spa with a very competent masseuse. A place to stay longer to recharge batteries.
