Ezio and Sylvia are a hard-working, wonderfully friendly couple who are dedicated to their life, their Agriturismo, and to ensuring that their guests have as lovely a stay there as is possible. We did just that. Lovely place, lovely people.

The owners are warm, friendly people, and that really makes the whole experience of staying at Il Sasso special. Apparently, they sometimes offer home-cooked meals (courtesy of Mama), but that wasn't possible during our stay and we ate at some of the superb local restaurants (and I mean that--there's good eating around here). The swimming pool is pleasant, and was really important given the intense heat (unusual, we were assured). Our room was small, but adequate for our needs. This is not a fancy place. There's no air conditioning (and as I said, it was brutally hot the first two days of our visit), and the room didn't have a fan, either. There is WiFi available, but the signal is weak, so don't expect to do much with it. So, if you need something deluxe, this probably isn't for you. Our family of three stayed at three different agriturismos on our trip, and this was my favorite, even beating out the one outside of Siena that cost three times as much (and was really more like a luxury hotel). I'd return in a minute, and plan to sometime in the future, absolutely. Anghiari is a wonderful town, and there are some other great, little (like, really little) hill towns to explore nearby. In terms of the restaurants, we got lucky on two of our three nights, but I think it's smart to make reservations in advance, wherever you end up. Oh, the breakfast was excellent, I thought. Eggs, cheese, meat, yoghurt, cereal/granola, cut up fruit, homemade cake, toast. No cappuccino available, but the coffee was good.

We stayed for one week in June 2017 and found it very good indeed. The family running the farm were delightful and extremely welcoming. We were there during an unusually hot period and it was lovely to have an occasional day just vegging out by the pool. The room was nice and the breakfast was good and substantial, much more than we needed. The owners had sufficient English to ensure no communication problems. There were numerous local hilltop towns/villages to visit and many good restaurants or pizza places for an evening meal, (some with a Sasso arranged 10% discount!). This part of Eastern Tuscany is not visited as much as further West and so there were not many other tourists around which made getting about and seeing the sights much easier. Florence and Sienna are both within reach and Arezzo, a largish interesting town, is about half an hour away. All in all a very nice friendly place to stay. Sent from my iPad

We had an amazing time at Il Sasso: quietness, simplicity, conviviality. The rooms, the swimming pool, the dinner, the people, the landscapes are the perfect combination to spend nice holidays. Many thanks to Silvia, Ezio and their family for all those beautiful moments. Louis, Sophie and Frédéric

Our first time at Il Sasso but most others staying at the same time had been before and come back. Sylvia and Enzo are welcoming and helpful and ensure your stay is the best it can be. Il Sasso is clean and charming, the thick walls and shutters keep the house cool and the large swimming pool provides a further option for cooling down. great location and Sylvia is really helpful with her advice on where to go to enjoy all the area has to offer. Will deinately be back.
