#3 of 15 B&Bs / Inns in Anghiari
Welcome to Anghiari! Our intention was to create a Farmhouse good enough for everybody, where the owners are always present and where you will have the opportunity to breath and live in the middle of the nature, near by one of the most beautiful village of Italy. The farm is developed in 25 hectares of our Tuscan countryside, in the middle of maize, wheat and sunflowers farming and surrounded by a magnificent vineyard. The little woodland next to the Farmhouse is the ideal natural shelter for wild boars, hares, squirrels, pheasants and hawks.Handed from generation in generation, rural experience gave us the possibility to recreate a suitable typical place for fruit and vegetables production (thanks to our orchard and kitchen garden) and hen, goose and duck breeding program, held free to stay around our little lake. Even thinking about energy, we wanted to respect our environment: that’ s why our heating service is based on a firewood boiler (using every year the woods from our woodland). Our little Farmhouse (maximum 10 beds) is the right place for a peaceful stay, offering you the best conditions and providing you the perfect place to relax, go fishing to the lake or swimming in the swimming pool. Come to live our traditions looking while we pick and squeeze olive and make an excellent olive oil, following the oldest rules.“Val della Pieve” takes his name from an ancient Romanesque Pieve, and is situated just outside the historical village of Anghiari, known all over the world thanks to the famous Battle painted by Leonardo Da Vinci and recalled every 29th June in the “Palio of the Victory”.Public transport’ s easy access allows you to visit the most beautiful treasures of this valley: starting with Piero della Francesca and his painting “Madonna del Parto” in Monterchi and other works in Sansepolcro’ s picture-gallery, arriving in Caprese an visiting Michelangelo’ s house. In approximately 1 hour you can reach by car the most beautiful cities in Tuscany, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna, like: FLORENCE, AREZZO, SIENA, PIENZA, MONTEPULCIANO, SAN GIMIGNANO, PERUGIA, URBINO, GUBBIO, SAN MARINO…and for a religious tourism don’ t forget to visit ASSISI, CAMALDOLI and LA VERNA.

The most tranquil spot with an amazingly generous host family, were you can find the true Italy away from the mainstream tourist traps. The family make their own olive oil and wine which is a good as it gets. The accommodation is clean and practical, but the main attractions are the views and the short walk into the town.

Beautiful views, full amenities, clean bathrooms and showers and pool. Short walk into Anghiari with lots of history, shops and restaurants. The only downside is some kind of factory in the valley that emits a low hum all night long - not too annoying, but noticeable.

Small camping with a very nice terrain for tents (grass) and separate terrain for campers and caravans. The camping has the ASCI label so it can get quite crowded. Nice view over the valley, though a bit noisy because of the SP road that runs through it. Plusses are definitely the big swimming pool and the clean sanitary.

From this camping, either if you are with camper (maximum 10 allowed) or tent (even better from the terraces), you can enjoy real Toscane landscapes. And all this without need to be a rich villa-owner, but for very reasonable price. The swimming pool is small ( 13 m) but allows making lanes as it is never crowdy. And again with magnificent view while swimming.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment Vista Lago was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our family of four slept together in one grand room. The bathroom was large and the kitchenette/salon was small but met our needs. The room had air conditioning available, but we really didn't need it as it gets very comfortable and sometimes cool in the evening. Nice to just sleep with the windows open - every window had screens which was a nice feature. No need to worry about bugs. The hosts were kind but mainly kept to themselves. The son was very friendly and offered lots of helpful advice on touring options and dinner choices. There was a lovely buffet offering poolside of wine, prosecco and various foods on Ferragosto. Very appreciated by all who attended. The views across the property were fantastic. You really appreciated the beauty of Tuscany from every angle. A couple of things to note...the breakfast was offered but not free (5 euro per person). Although there is air conditioning, there would have been a charge of 5 euro per night if used. Not sure if it has to do with the way we booked the room, but that seemed odd to me. The campgrounds were very nice, offering fantastic views. The public showers were clean. The bathroom unfortunately was not maintained very well and the smell emanating from the bathroom as you passed by was not pleasant. Really the only major complaint of the whole property. I don't have experience with campgrounds, so I can't tell you of that is common or not. Overall, we had a really great experience and I would recommend this agriturismo for its service, location, proximity to a wonderful little town and the lodging itself.
