We stayed there for a week. Our experience was very good, this is a lovely place to stay. Luxurious room (deluxe sea view with a large balcony - highly recommended), perfect welcome, clean room service and excellent food in the Michelin star and vegetarian restaurants. Nice but rather small spa. Probably too small if it was open to public, but it fitted well for private spa reservations. Good massages. The service was most of the teams really good. We had the pleasure of a late checkout, and kind support in our transfer (which included a one day cancellation without charge the hotel didn’t had to do - thanks). However, the service was far from perfect - chaos on spa bookings (mixed up the times), verbal fights between cleaning service, screwed up room service bookings (2 hours and cold - come on!). Breakfast was excessive and of great quality. Again, service occasionally irritated (for instance, five people standing around while there is a queue for the breakfast, instead of helping? Running away before you finished what you wanted to order?). Many more little examples on every single day we stayed there.

This hotel has the most beautiful surroundings, it’s hard to find a reason to leave and see the actual island Vulcano while staying here. We were welcomed at the port with a free shuttle to the hotel, we were then greeted with a welcome drink. From the moment we arrived we were treated to 5 star service. The staff cannot do enough, the answer is never no, they will find a way to accommodate what you ask for. Really nice touch to have a full complimentary mini bar which even includes bottles of Prosecco & Aperol and is restocked daily. Some prices are on the pricey I can’t justify €6 for a Coke, €15 for small glass of house wine, or €25 for a club sandwich, but on the other hand it’s only €15 for one of the nicest pizzas I’ve ever had. Pool service is amazing, order on an app and it’s brought to you. Steps down to the sea are beautiful for a sea swim rather than the pool. Annoying that there is no iron in the room or even available when asked, only option is expensive ironing service. Went for dinner in the hotel Michelin star restaurant il cappero, highly recommend it, both the service and food is incredible. We went for dinner in Vulcano one evening, the hotel asked a couple of questions on what we like and they kindly chose a restaurant for us and make the reservation, they even dropped us and picked us up from the restaurant. Everything is just so easy and effortless while staying here. Will definitely be returning.

My wife and I have just returned from 3 nights at this excellent hotel. We were lucky enough to be given a sea view room upgrade and it is a lovely touch that the minibar is free / included in the room. The spa is fantastic and would highly recommend the volcanic mud massage. The staff are all highly personable and attentive, offering to assist beyond other hotels. The vegetarian restaurant tasting menu is something very special and the pool side restaurant also very good. Breakfast is vast and plentiful and during Covid the service is excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

In short, I would thoroughly recommend staying here. - The place has a lovely atmosphere; unpretentious, authentic, elegant, warm. - Staff are attentive and go out of their way to help you: When we hired a quad from a local hire company, and it broke down, the manager of the hotel himself came to pick us up and gave us a tour of the island on the way home! - The concierge had great ideas and created a lovely itinerary. - The view and sunsets were STUNNING - The vegetarian restaurant was sensational - really encourage anyone to go and book in early as we thought better than the Michelin starred one - The complimentary minibar was restocked with wines daily; seriously generous. - The sea was so incredibly clear that we didn’t even use the pools - The indoor spaces were beautiful too, and the gym was large and airy. - The room was gorgeous (we had a sea view and huge terrace) - There were lots of lovely finishing touches - e.g. they packed us a little lunch for the ferry back Cons: - tricky to get to; sadly difficult for a long weekend for most - sometimes the staff were a little forgetful at breakfast
