Just back from our weekend at Rockport. Can not say enough about the location or all the staff. Breakfast was on the patio overlooking the river. Lunch was at the Boathouse on their patio and then dinner at the pub. Something for everyone here. Very busy spot but everyone was on top of their game. Rooms were very clean and housekeepers were very sweet.
Our dive groups reservation got bungled on 9 July 2016 weekend. Regardless of how that happened, the desk staff at the Boathouse were rude and unprofessional. No apologies. No "sorry, can we help figure out another plan in the area". Complete lack of customer apathy. Actually thought it was funny So I spent an extra 300 dollars down the road. Where the people were friendly. And obviously wanted my money and business. And next year they will get it! And the year after that too! Sometimes businesses forget (or sadly lack the maturity to know) it's just as important how you handle the last mishap that going through your daily routine.
Our dive shop booked a weekend stay here at the Bunkhouse for our group back in the winter for a July weekend stay. We arrived only to find out that they hadn't actually booked it in for some unknown reason and of course no longer had any rooms left. When we arrived, the front desk staff tried to blame it on us. Not only were they completely rude about it, they blatantly continued lied saying that they called us up to nine times with no response from our end. I'm pretty sure we would have answered or returned such a message. No apologies, just complete rudeness. Thanks to Caigers Resort down the road for bailing us out. Give Caigers your business if staying in the Rockport area.
Stayed in the St Lawrence room with private balcony , river view. What a beautiful room, clean and well appointed. We were concerned that the Tavern on the main floor would be noisy but we heard nothing! Note that the air conditioner is a wall unit. It works well to cool the room but it is unbelievable noisy. Also small warning while we were getting ready for bed after 10 pm, a couple was checking into the room next to ours and somehow had a key that did not fit their door but did fit ours. So in they came! Just be careful and besides double locking the door put out the 'do not disturb' sign so others know the room is occupied. Don't let it stop you though. Great room and the restaurant is FAB!
We stay here almost every year for 15 years. We arrived late, the staff at the Cornwall Pub(next building) was friendly and walked me to the keys (thanks). We were happy to see the installation of new solar lights on the slips (free slip with a room). The back room door looks out onto your boat. All the rooms had AIR,a large FAN and a small WINDOW THAT OPENED to the back, perfect sleeping conditions and a quiet sleep .The rooms are always clean. Breakfast is in the Ships Gallery (Two buildings over--order off the menu) friendly staff. The room amount is added to your credit card, no waiting to sign out, just leave your key(s) on a table with a TIP and your off boating again. P.S. The dock lights are ever romantic.
