Thornbrook Barn is a warm and friendly site. All touring pitches are hardstanding electric pitches, some of which are full serviced. For glamping, there are three luxury en suite glamping cabins each with a hot tub. The famous Waterfalls Trail at Ingleton is just a 15 minute walk away, along with the picturesque village of Ingleton a couple of minutes further. A hail & ride bus service operates from close to the site entrance. Situated right on the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it offers a great location for visiting such places as Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, Hawes and is a great base for walking with the famous Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Penyghent and Whernside right on the doorstep. The area offers the natural attractions of the limestone pavements, caves and hills. This is a great stop for tourers looking to park up and explore, or glamping guests looking for a little extra luxury.

What a beautiful site this is, we stayed four nights and loved every minute. The location is so pretty surrounded by sheep in the fields and stunning views. No check in as you are given code and pitch beforehand also number plate recognition. I know some people like the customer welcome check in but it was actually very simple and when you did meet the owners working they were lovely and friendly and would always have a chat. Pitches are among the largest we have stayed on, hedging creates privacy and choice of fully serviced, sadly not available when we went, 16 amp ehu and water, waste not too far from pitch, so it didn’t cause any issues, we have just got lazy. There is free WiFi throughout the site which is a novelty nowadays and was fine to stream our tv. You do need a torch for night time if like us you need to walk the dog or even to go to shower block as it is dark as there are no lights outside. The toilet/shower blocks were lovely and warm, spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water and the piped music is a lovely touch. The cafe/ food shop opposite the site is very popular and has a lovely butchers. The Marton Arms is 10 minutes walk away, dog friendly and delicious food served by welcoming friendly staff, or 25 minutes into Ingleton allowing for dog having lots of sniffs again with dog friendly pubs. There are lots of lovely walks in the area and Ingleton Falls is a definite must for anyone visiting very pretty and scenic. As I said previously we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend a visit, we certainly look forward to our next one.

Just returned from a 4 night stay. Our 1st time at Thornbrook Barn, it won't be our last.
The site has been planned really well, with stunning views from some of the pitches. The site is slightly tiered giving a lovely feel to it. The pitches are really generous in size with plenty room for caravan, car and awning. There is no lighting on the site other than that from the shower block, so it does get very dark which we found really quite lovely, as everyone walks around with torches. It's the same if your walking from the Marton Arms or Ingleton, there's no lighting to spoil the nights skies, so taking a torch is essential.
The booking and check in was seamless, the barrier recognises your car reg and let's you in, no human contact needed ( although it would have been nice to meet the owners).
The shower block is exceptionally clean, my only minor criticism is that it needs a shelf or something in the shower area to hang your shampoo, shower gels etc.
The location is superb, a lovely 20 min stroll into Ingleton, 10mins to the lovely Marton Arms pub and minutes to Country Harvest where you can eat and shop and buy some delicious locally produced foods .
Really look forward to visiting again in spring/ summer.

We’re currently staying at Thornbrook Barn Caravan Site and can’t praise the owners enough for all of the hard work they put into the place. The pitches are very spacious and the surrounding grass areas are kept well manicured with neat hedges separating adjacent tenants. The whole site is very well maintained with an excellent shower and toilet block, pot washing facilities and an information room. Less able individuals are well catered for with an accessible toilet and wide, gravel paths that mobility scooters can easily negotiate. The pitches are tiered on many different levels and are laid out in nice, secluded little alcoves that provide lots of privacy. It’s family and dog friendly, having a lovely grassed dog area where pets can be exercised. As far as any downsides go, I can’t think of any. The owners are constantly looking for ways to improve the site and I’m sure any sensible suggestions would be given due consideration if they enhanced the property. Looking forward to another visit here in the not-too-distant future.

This was a wonderful site. Beautifully kept, large fully serviced pitches and excellent toilet/shower facilities. COVID regulations were in place, which was reassuring. This site is in a perfect location - feels isolated but within easy walking distance of Ingleton. The farm shop/butchers over the road was really well stocked. This site is definitely on our return list. My only tip to the owners would be to consider installing a simple outdoor dog wash area as I can imagine on wet/muddy days it would be so beneficial to the many people like myself who have dogs that just love mud!!

Stayed at the graze Garth lodge on the 17/3/23-19/3/23 and it was an amazing stay Easy check in straight to the lodge with parking right beside. Very good hosts Alan and Sandra made everything very easy and accessible. Was absolutely spotless on the inside and equipped with everything you will need during your stay including cooking utensils, pans ect Lovely welcome pack with lots of sweet and savoury treats and I opted for the celebration pack which was perfect. The Lodge itself was very modern and spacious With a view overlooking the fields and we even got to watch the lambs from the hot tub The hot tub was lovely so clean and made the weekend We were recommend the Italian restaurant la tavernetta in Ingleton which was some of the best pasta we’ve had
everything you could expect and more will definitely be staying again amazing scenery and amazing lodge.
Thanks Alan and Sandra

We very rarely venture off caravan club sites but so glad we did for this lovely site.
The site is spotless infact still looks new, it has easy access from the main road and to the surrounding areas. The pitches are lovely and wide and well spaced out and love the fact there is minimum lighting onsite.
The WIFI was a bit hit and miss in the evening so used a mobile hotspot if it became an issue. The TV reception is very poor but we already new this before our arrival.
The only issue we had and which the owners can not be blamed for was that for 3 of the nights from early evening until gone 9pm there was non stop live drumming/music coming from behind the site in the village at the back which we traced to a battered looking farm building opposite some bungalows, how the residents put up with it in village i do not know as it was very intrusive. Would not surprise me if the local residents had already complained. Sadly this noise would prevent us from coming back to this site as the noise was so intrusive and spoiled our evenings.

Thank you for the 5* rating and glad you enjoyed your stay at Thornbrook Barn. We are now into our 9th season so glad you thought it was new and appreciated the spacious layout and minimum lighting. Your Serviced Pitch at the lower end of the site and a few others down at that end may struggle with TV reception but it does depend on your aerial type, as some guests don't have problems at all. We are not sure why the WiFi was hit and miss too, but we have restarted and rebooted the router and server now so hopefully this should have sorted it! We were aware that whilst you were here a young lad who lives over in one of the bungalows in Thornton in Lonsdale had been practising playing music rather loudly in that green barn about 500mtrs from the site. We spoke at the time with the neighbours who live next to him and in turn they have spoken with him regarding the noise levels and since then this noise has not occurred. We certainly won't tolerate that noise again. Kind Regards Sandra

We have stayed at two of the Lodges @ Thornbrook (June 2022 in "Herdy's Hut" & October 2022 in "Graze Garth") and have loved the experience on both occasions. The lodges are situated in a peaceful location which is great for a relaxing break, and with the addition of a hot tub it doesn't get much better!
Sandra & Alan clearly take a lot of care to ensure that guests have a great stay, by providing a welcome box with some local treats from the nearby Country Harvest farm shop/cafe (incl. a 10% discount voucher for the Country Harvest). On our second visit we were surprised with a bottle of bubbly and a welcome back note, which made us both feel like valued guests.
The only small improvement would be the addition of an oven to make cooking in the lodge easier, but there is an electric hob and outdoor pizza oven available to use. Sandra & Alan also recommend a lot of places to eat which also helps!
Thanks again for a brilliant stay, I'm sure we will be back.

We've stayed at this gorgeous site for 5 days, and we couldn't have asked for a better site, location and facilities. The owners have thought of everything, even to go as far as free WiFi, and it's powerful WiFi all over the site. Why other sites feel they have to charge for WiFi in this day and age is beyond me. The shower/toilet block is modern, clean and have lovely showers. The site is a 10 min walk to the gorgeous town of Ingleton. You're on the doorstep to the Ingleton Waterfall walk, stunning, and there are 2 of the 3 peaks within walking distance, Ingleborough and Whernside. This is a gorgeous site, modern, well laid out with super large pitches and lush green lawn spaces . I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed in Herdys Hut lodge. Spotlessly clean. Modern fixtures and fittings. Spectacular view from the patio/ hot tub. Great location for eating places in Ingleton and the Waterfall Trail. Our friends were on the tourer site and it was a shame they were not allowed to visit the lodge but we understand the strict rules are to maintain the peacefulness. They also enjoyed the site and said the showers etc were spotlessly clean. Only very slight negatives- nowhere to hang coats and limited storage/wardrobe space. The outdoor pizza/bbq was very heavy to use so we decided not to. Other than that cannot fault the site. We will be back!

Many thanks for the 5* review following your stay in Herdy's Hut. We take onboard your comments regarding the hanging space for coats. Sorry you found the BBQ heavy to use, was it heavy when trying to control the grill position and lid? The whole BBQ is not intended to be moved. We look forward to you returning to one of the Lodges in the future.

What a fantastic place to escape for a few days! My partner & I spent 5 days here and was really impressed with the standard and cleanliness, the quality of the lodge and the fittings were very modern and of a high standard, especially the shower and bathroom!
We spent a lot of time in the hot tub which was lovely and relaxing with views over the fields with the sheep and then in the distance over towards some hills. We saw deer to in the small wood by the lodge :) Ingleton town is about 15mins walk and has plenty of pubs, cafes and a lovely Italian restaurant. We also enjoyed a breakfast at Country Harvest ( we used our guest discount card to eat here) this is about 5mins walk away. We didn't use our car whilst there which was a bonus, we loved the walks especially the Waterfalls Trail although there wasn't much water coming over the falls. Our hosts Sandra and Allan were brilliant as well and always on hand if we needed anything. Lovely communication and emails too. Couldn’t recommend enough - one of the best glamping stays we have had.
