A Victorian house in private grounds, YHA Ingleton is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, in the pretty village of Ingleton. Surrounded by magnificent countryside with caves, waterfalls, and mountains, the area is known for its walking routes and striking caves, with a famous waterfall trail that begins in the village. If you appreciate the great outdoors Ingleton and the surrounding area has plenty to offer. Walkers, climbers, mountain bikers and cavers are all well catered for and Ingleton makes an excellent centre for those wishing to explore by car - the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay coastline are all only a short distance away. If you're looking for Three Peaks Challenge accommodation while you take on Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, then this is the place for you. For a more gentle day out, try the waterfall walk to Thornton Force or tour White Scar Caves.

Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
I stayed for 4 nights, the breakfast at the weekend was great. The staff were friendly and helpful with advising on weather conditions and car parks. I enjoyed walking The Three Peaks again, accompanying a Ramblers group. We had wet, foggy weather so the drying room was useful. Visitors respected other's food in the fridge and kept quiet at night. Remember to take care on the narrow walled lane to the hostel when driving.

Kitchen, sanitary and rooms were absolutely spotless. The kitchen was well-equipped, the drying room lived up to its name and I really appreciated the separate dining room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Finally, I think the location is ideal for the walks around Ingleton,

The Ingleton YHA is in a lovely spot in the village, very close to the pubs and shops but tucked away so there is no noise from passing traffic/pedestrians. The rooms and communal areas are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast or packed lunch options but they are available for an extra cost. The staff are lovely and clearly know the local area very well, which was useful when planning activities. They also let me store some luggage for a few hours after I checked out which was incredibly helpful as I was going on a hike! I'd definitely stay again if I return to this part of the Dales.

The wardens at this hostel are very friendly and welcoming.
The self catering kitchen is well equiped, even had coffee 'plungers'.
Stayed in a female dorm, plenty of storage space. 4 plug sockets for 6 beds, but there were other sockets available for charging in the hostel. Plenty of in the lounges for relaxing after a hard days walking.
Wifi in the hostel worked fine. Received instructions a few days before the stay re parking and checking in.
Ideally situated for doing Y3P walk if you have a car as it is approx 15mins to Ribblehead Viaduct and 22mins to Horton
Close to Coop store for provisions and fabulous Bakery - Seasons Bakery in the village for gorgeous, cakes, coffee and savouries which opens from 7am!

Ingleton YHA is placed in a great and quiet location. I had one night on 7 July. My first visit at this YHA. The welcome was friendly and the facilities were excellent - apart from the showers - not the best I have come across. There is no control of the spray so water goes everywhere. As it was a Sunday when I arrived the hostel did not serve breakfast on the Monday morning (the hostel only serves breakfasts on Saturdays and Sundays) but I was able to get a breakfast at the nearby Village Kitchen which opens at 7am. There is a members kitchen so I will use this next time. There is an excellent spacious lounge area that looks out to a great view of the lawn (with picnic tables for relaxation or the eating of meals). Overall a great hostel in the Limestone Dales.

I had a very short but sweet stay the night before the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. On arrival reception was great and very welcoming in giving me an overview of where everything was and how to reach someone should I need to. Amenities were more than enough, and the kitchen had a great amount of facilities.

Excellent stay. The hostel is ideally situated, both for the western parts of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lancashire coast. Ingleton village is lovely, and there is plenty to do in the village itself and the immediate area. The room we were in was spacious and comfortable. Nigel was the main warden on duty during the three nights that we stayed, and he was very friendly and very helpful. It was our second stay there, and we'll be back for another!

The hostel is in the picturesque village of Ingleton, the car park is awkward to get into, but is aimed at walkers. Facilities are good, the cooked breakfast is good. The dorm was basic, but usable and the bunk bed quite comfortable, some other guests must have been restless as there was a lot of movement during the night, with doors opening and closing. All in All, a good experience.
