Detailed Reviews
I arrived at the Dales Guest House somewhat nervous after reading all the recent reviews. Although not the most wonderful B&B I have ever stayed in, for the £30 I paid, I think it was good value for money. I had a very early breakfast as I was doing the '3 Peaks' and was offered a much nicer breakfast than I had expected including a good assortment of cereals, fresh melon and strawberries, yoghurts and chunky toast.
The bed was clean and comfortable.

Not the Ritz but The Dales offers great value(£30), room was pretty compact but it was all there- good shower, nice sheets and clean. Owners very pleasant, happily dried my wet clothes and breakfast cooked to order. Breakfast room tiny but I enjoyed talking to other guests!

Great little bed and breakfast, we had room 5 right up in the attic. It was great for us as we had a dog and didn't want a lot of noise going past to trigger him barking. One bedroom next to us, so our dog was well behaved and quiet. Breakfast is 8:30am sharp and where you eat breakfast a bit cramped and claustrophobic. That's it's only down fall as the owners are nice and the house is clean.

Great value for money. Room clean and adequate size with a comfy bed and tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits.Breakfast very good and all tasted fresh with good quality products, very good selection of things to eat including fresh strawberries and very good coffee.
Owner friendly and helpful and lots of traveler information available. They also have a great selection of books to read and board games to play if the weather turns out bad.
We don't drive so we got there by public transport, due to traveling this way they offered us a 5% discount (as we are being environmentally friendly) even though its not a lot i thought it was a very nice gesture. We would defiantly stay there again and i would recommend this guest house to anyone (couples, family's or singles)

I must say, reading the previous review, I had a different experience altogether. As a busy man who works in central London, I was looking for a quiet getaway with my wife and teenage sons. I was not disappointed with my stay, and my two boys had a brilliant time too. The location was great, we did climbing, caving and walks all at a very close distance, the village it self is wonderful and we were greeted with a warm welcome and brilliant quality British breakfast. The hotel provided comfy beds, the rooms were adequate for our needs, and we found everything in the guest house comfortable and relaxing. We found everything to be clean and comfortable and I look forward to coming again next year.

Stayed at the dales guesthouse as it came up on the Ingleton falls site, was reasonably priced and near the start of the trail. Stayed one night in a twin room with breakfast for £60.
The place was easy to find and on arrival from the outside looked much the same as the other b and b's. paul showed us to our room, which was; as most traditional b and b's; florally decorated and very old fashioned. It was not very clean or well kempt and the wall paper was sellotaped on in places. Bathroom was not very clean either with muck on the shower tube and round the taps. The b and b itself is very dated and cluttered, mainly with frogs which are in every nook and cranny.. ceramic, stuffed, glass, soft.. good luck charms taken to the extreme. to say the least. there is a lounge available which again is cluttered and dated and very shabby..and the dining room which is basically 4 tables very close together in the alcove. Having said that, breakfast was delicious not to mention pauls home made bread.. although we were told breakfast was at 8.30 which we presumed to mean from 8.30am until we were called at 8.50am to tell us breakfast was on the table.! If i were appearing on four in a bed i would have paid £40 for this room as feel itw as overpriced.

We have just returned from the 40s weekend in Ingleton,i went with the wife and two children age 11 and 7
We stayed in the Dales Guest house ,We all thought it was Bob on, The kids didnt want to go out they would have been happy staying in for two days,
Penny and Paul were both charming hosts , Penny had a smile on her face every time i saw her,I think they are very proud of ther guest house and so they should be, It has everthing you want , its clean and tidy ,plenty of hot water, great showers and comfy beds, superb food, all local produce and Pennys home made bread, the dinning room is a little small but it opens into a large lounge and as it only caters for 8 people its big enough, The lounge area has plenty of chairs and games for the kids, My little lad is hard work, he is into everything , but no one seemed to mind ,I spoke to other guests and everyone said they likede it,I hope they all leave possitive feedback I think it deserves it ,It must hurt owners of B&Bs when they get uncalled for bad reviews it could close small businesses like this and it would be a great loss, there is no need for it, Its a great place to stay, dont compair it with your 4 stars in Turkey compair it with other small guest houses and it gets full marks ,hey even came out to wave us off you dont get that very often,, love to stay again,Thankyou

When I arrived I was given a flurry of instructions on how things should be and how certain things should be used. Once this wittering woman had disappeared I was a bit peckish I decided to try a welcome biscuit, only to discover that they had both gone off the week before.
The next day I went down early for breakfast and was greeted by a "dinning room" smaller than a shed. The food however was of an acceptable quality. After I had gone back to my room for a bit more sleep I was woken shortly by one of the owners asking if I wanted anything as they are going out for the day and wouldn't be available. I find this a bit ridiculous as I was paying for a service where they would be available until 9pm.
As I came downstairs to go out for the day I found the keys to all the rooms on a side table in the hallway, I was amazing shocked by this lack of security and promptly hid the keys in the same hallway. The owners never mentioned that the master keys to all the rooms had gone missing and the keys we still in the same place the next morning. I am shocked by the fact that these people let me stay the night in a place that the keys were missing and my belongings, for all they know, could have been stolen at any time.
I left this shabby, unclean and unkept place for good after my second okay breakfast. I do not recommend you stay here as it drastically needs improving.

Firstly I would like to say that I totally disagree with the review before. We stayed here on Sat 26th Jan, and my partner and myself had a great experience. The guest house is well placed for walks to Ingleton Falls and osurrounding areas. Once we parked up we felt the car coul dbe left and there was much to see and do in the small town. The hosts we incredibly hospitable, there was no restriction on the breakfast times, we got up around 9am and we were shown into the dining room where our cooked breakfast arrived about 10 minutes later, in the meantime we were given tea and coffee and told to help oursleves to as much fresh fruit, cereal and yoghurt as we wanted, but we waited for our lovely breakfast which consisted of lovely local produce. Very tasty. The hosts were wonderful, polite, freindly, helpful etc and made us and our dog very welcome. The decor was in keeping with the property and business and yes there are ornamnets dotted around but it didnt make a difference to our stay. Our room was very clean and tidy with an amazing view over the river and the counrtyside, the shower was great, it was hot and fairly powerful and did its job. I would make no hesitation in recommending this guest house to anyone in the future and have already done so to many friends, and if we ever decide to go to Ingleton again would definately stay there again. Great value, great people, great place. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you.
