lovely welcome from staff- all pleasant and on. the ball. The room was super clean, bathroom a bit small but stunning shower with soft towels/ gels and extras and of course the magnificent view. The location is brilliant- just an overnight for us but weather dry and warm [ish]. we had a walk round the viaduct and the station [may come back on the train]. The bar area and the snug- so inviting and a brilliant area to rest and chill with a glass or two of real ale. The food was more than adequate and tasty, reasonably priced and served with a smoothness as not to disturb. Great place; pity we missed the dark skies but the moon shone through the clouds for a brief showing. We must and will return- Thanks

I parked my camper in the carpark to stay overnight. This is a free service with access to a toilet and wash basin. All they ask is that you eat in the pub which is I think a fair deal. There is also a tap to fill up your drinking water. The staff were first class The food was first class The service was first class Everything you could ask for in a country pub mid winter, a warm fire and warm welcome. Food portions were massive which out faced me but would suit a younger hungry hiker. Beer was a little pricey but I am a Yorkshire man and that's the world we live in these days. Not complaining because it's nice to treat yourself to a decent pint rather than some of the dish water they serve at some of the larger city bars,I'd rather have one decent pint than two rubbish ones!!! Highly recommended establishment.

I was heading for the free camping at Ribbleheax but the weather was wet and cold so I inquired about the bunkhouse. At £40 a night including heated flooring and a hot shower I went for it and since it's was a midweek night and early February I had the place to myself. Take your own bedding otherwise there is an extra charge. I think he said £15 which is ridiculous. Other than that it was exceptional, good food nice beer and great views of the viaduct which I think was the biggest structure in the world when it was built. You can take a train ride over it and listen to folk bands playing during the tourist season.

I called in for a coffee and potentially a bite to eat whilst walking the 3 peaks. It’s quite a quirky place with lots of old-fashioned signage and photos which is nice and it’s a great location. They have a captive audience as it’s the only pub on the walk (other than in Horton in Ribblesdale which is where I started). However, the staff on duty during my visit were appalling! I ordered a latte, which seemed to be quite challenging for the unfriendly chap who reluctantly served me. Clearly 3 lattes for different people with different preferences was too much to ask. I tried several times to attract another staff members’ attention to pay and to give the rest of my order, but they were too busy ignoring me and faffing about behind the bar unproductively. A large group of potential diners turned up to make a booking for that evening, only to be told very abruptly that they only take bookings for tables over 6 (which they clearly were) - a very odd rule which I’ve not come across before. It was the way the two male bar servers spoke that was embarrassing - apparently the group had to wait for the ‘manager’ to make the booking. I decided against ordering food given the poor service and drank up before leaving. I observed from my sticky table several more instances of horrendous customer service which was painful. They are fortunate that a great deal of the customers are desperate for a pint/coffee/bite to eat and are unlikely to return. Such a shame as it could be an amazing place if they staffed it with trained, friendly, polite members who actually want to give the impression that they give a toss!

Well thank you for such a reasoned review! Couple of things to note - we are not the only pub on the Three Peaks walk - there are two in Horton and one at the foot of Ingleborough so we don’t take our customers for granted and I would hope readers of TA can see that in the vast majority of cases our staff are hailed for the friendly and kind service that they offer. I apologise unreservedly for the fact that the young staff member got confused about the three different varieties of latte that you were trying to order. This was the exception rather than the rule. I respectfully suggest that you are not qualified to comment on the process we have for booking tables for groups only. What I will say is that after 23 years of running this business we do know what works for our customers and why it works - feel free to drop me an email and I would be very happy to explain this to you so that you are better informed. The comments regarding staff “faffing around” are both perjorative and border line offensive so I will not respond to them here.

We stayed here for just one night while walking between Ribblehead and Dent.
Every member of staff I interacted with was lovely, very hospitable and incredibly knowledgeable about the area.
The rooms themselves(Jerusalem) it had two very comfy beds and the pillows were lovely. Shower was warm and powerful.
The rooms naturally are inn standard and they are not gigantic, but they have everything you need to get washed up and get an amazing nights sleep.
The food was amazing, I had pasta tagliatelle and my partner she had the steak and ale pie. We both could not finish the portions much to our disappointment because they are massive portions! Very tasty indeed.
Between ordering and food coming out it was very good timings and the restaurant was about half full.
Overall an excellent stay and will come again on our adventures.

We booked to stay overnight in the station inn car park on our campervan We were met by the very friendly and hospitable Kim. Very personable and happy lady We walked under the ribblehead viaduct and through the yorkshire dales a stunning walk of about 4 miles We ate at the pub and again, Kim found us a lovely table the menu was good and the liver and bacon delicious A great selection of local ales too A quiet car park offering stunning views if the ribblehead viaduct Highly recommend people stay there Although overnight parking is free, a meal for four with drinks was about £90 Expensive but worth the experience Finally, a shout out and thank you to Kim the bar staff A credit to the station inn

We have a 6m motorhome. We rang ahead to see if we could stop there but were told to just turn up. The staff were mega friendly. The food was excellent but in true Yorkshire style, they don't do small portions. A good range of handpulled and keg beers on the bar too. For those in a campervan, camping is free if you are buying meals and drink from the establishment. They also provide a keypad accessible toilet for the use of those in vans, along with a fresh water and waste disposal area. They also have accomodation available

I stayed here on 27th July. I was in a state as I was walking the Dales Way alone, and hadn't had a proper meal by the half way point, due to pubs/cafés remaining closed after lockdown. The landlady took a phone order for food and kept it warm for me until I got there. I was flagging having walked 40 miles over 3 days without decent food. The landlady actually drove down the road to look for me because she was worried about me. It was getting late and I was flagging. She sat me down on a comfy table in the pub and handed me the biggest portion of fish & chips I've ever seen. It tasted delicious! Freshly cooked, homemade ingredients. I devoured it like an orphan in a film, shovelling it in my mouth in a daze. The staff were so friendly and kind to me. I got table service so I didn't have to walk any further that day. I was invited to sit with them and join in their card games but I just needed sleep. The landlady offered me to camp out the back of the pub overnight or a bunk barn. The b&b was full. I opted for the comfort of the bunk barn. They'd made a bed up for me. The room was clean and comfy and I had my own shower and USB charging points (on the plug sockets), which were handy because I hadn't packed a plug. The room was freshly decorated since the last time I stayed there. Slate tiles on the floor and everything looked clean. Next morning I was fed a huge breakfast to set me up for the day. Gluten free options and dairy free milk were available to cater for food intolerances (also offered on the evening menu). When I went to settle my bill the landlady only charged me for my room, and fed me dinner and breakfast on the house. She said "Every little helps, enjoy the rest of your holiday". She was like an angel to me. I don't think I could have finished my walk without staying here. I would highly recommend staying here or popping in for drinks and food. Lovely place, lovely fresh food and lovely service. Thank you so much.

Staying with a group at a bunk barn nearby. Had Friday dinner in the bar - all had to be pre-ordered before we arrived - and were pleasantly pleased with the food. The range of beers was good BUT someone need to train all the staff on how to pour a beer. Not one was a full pint and when we asked for the glasses topping up it was very half heated effort. Suggest you take a glass cutter to reduce the size of your pint glass so it looks full!

After a charity walk up Whernside, 9 work colleagues had prebooked a table for a well earned lunch. Service and food was excellent. The staff worked very well as a team, both behind the very busy bar and serving food. The food was excellent with lots of choices for various dietery requirements, portions were very generous and excellent value for money. I would recommend pre booking for large groups as this is a very busy pub, because being part of The Yorkshire Three Peaks route.
