Stayed at San Antonio with my husband for 3 nights. From the moment I booked until check out I can only describe our experience as outstanding!

You see pictures of places and think wow but no pictures do this place justice. Built into the side of a cliff it has the most amazing infinity pool, pool area, chill out beds etc.

The views and beauty of the place aside the thing that puts this place apart from many other top class places I have stayed is the service. They cant do enough for you. They arranged all of our transfers, we arrived to check into a double sea view room and they upgraded us on arrival to a junior suite. Nothing is too much. They want to make sure you have the best experience at their hotel and that is exactly what we had.

We ate dinner in our first night sitting at their amazing cliff restaurant tables and the food was fabulous. The breakfast which is a la carte was probably the best breakfast I've EVER had at a hotel. Basket of bread, plates of fresh fruit, salmon, salads, coffee juices and glasses of champagne ...it was endless and amazing.

The cost of food and drinks at the hotel is so reasonable. My pet hate in hotels is hotels taking the opportunity to charge small fortunes for water etc. NOT at San Antonio. It was very good value for money. A large 1l bottle of water in a glass bottle with glasses in an ice bucket served to you at the pool for €4 is the perfect example of this. They want their guests to get good value for money and we really feel like we did. We had dinner, lunch and plenty of drinks at the hotel.

Finally, touching on the subject of COVID as it's such a big part of our wild right now. The hotel have this managed down to a T. As soon as someone leaves their sunbed for the day they are straight over to sanitize it. The daily clean of rooms is like a full on deep clean. Small personal pack of masks and hand sanitizer for each guest in the room. Masks at reception for guests for when they are heading out for the evening. Really really well managed and we felt very safe.

We will absolutely be back here. Up there if not the best place we have stayed in the last few years.

Beauty, service and value for money.

Thank you for a special few days Sam Antonio

We stayed in three hotels in Santorini during our visit and I just loved this lovely upscale boutique hotel. To me It felt more exclusive and elegant (although slightly less funky) than the white cave hotels in Oia. The hotel is built from a lot of black rock so as other reviewers have mentioned the photos on the website do not do it justice. but actually when you get there it is really beautiful, extremely dramatic and architecturally fits with the environment surrounding it very well.
The hotel has wow factor the moment you step inside the relaxing and pretty white lobby made even more lovely by a gorgeous chapel that is a room carved out to your left.. this is such a romantic hotel that oozes charm, the infinity pool is fabulous and and the caldera view is breathtaking. That view never gets old and meals are taken out on a lovely terrace. Our evening meal was wonderful with a great menu, breakfast was to die for!
During our stay the staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and in Covid times they followed all the rules of mask wearing unlike other establishments we visited.

We were lucky enough to stay in a suite with a hot tub it was room 19 and I’m so glad we had this room. It was away from the bar area so quiet and it felt very secluded. It was lovely to hear the birds singing in the trees below us at sunset whilst sipping a pink lemonade mocktail which was delicious. We were able to enjoy our hot tub privately without guests walking past -A few bits of advice -Some of the rooms are on the pool level and nearer the bar so less private, but most rooms were tucked away so ask for one away from pool. Also to note, hotel is not in walking distance of a village so car or taxi is needed if you want to go anywhere.

That aside ,what would make this one of the best hotels in the world rather than a very romantic four and a half star boutique hotel with five star view and service ??

Sadly the pillows were not good enough for a hotel of this standard and I would advise you to take your own until this is remedied and for me, the bed could have been a bit more comfortable , during our stay at least, the water in shower was always warm but not hot.

Despite these small kinks don’t let them put you off, I really loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone - we also stayed in Oia and if you are hell bent on staying in a white cave hotel there I’d also suggest staying here for a few days after as it’s more relaxing, and private and the sunsets and view is better despite what guide books say!

San Antonio is a lovely romantic hotel and memories of staying there will remain with long after my trip is over.

Location

Perfect location if you are looking to get away from the crowds in Oia/Fira. The hotel is located in-between both towns, around a 10-15 minute taxi ride either way. Not overlooked by any other hotels or restaurants. It has amazing sea views from all rooms/suites, the pool and the restaurant.
Taxi’s are expensive to get anywhere on the island, whether it be a 10 or 30 minute journey. At the time we visited (June 2022) it would cost you €36 to get anywhere one way but worth it to stay in this hotel!

Food/Drinks

Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice of sweet and savoury. We also had dinner/lunch here a few times which did not disappoint particularly the Gyros, Greek Salad and Fillet. Tried a few different cocktails, generous in size and strength. A little bit pricey but nothing out the ordinary for good quality food/drinks in Santorini.

Hotel/Rooms

The hotel is absolutely stunning, the attention to detail and traditional style of the rooms and reception area. Everything was immaculate and clean. Common areas attended to regularly. The view never gets old, no matter where you’re looking from.

Staff/Service

Every single staff member that we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. They will go out of their way to make sure your needs are met and that you are happy with everything. The hotel has a really nice feel to it, not pretentious whatsoever. We had a few special requests for the room which the front desk staff arranged for us as well as organising restaurant and taxi bookings.
A special mention for Joanna and Spyro for making our stay extra special. Very attentive and lovely people, we were sad to say goodbye to them both!

Overall

We will definitely be returning to this wonderful hotel when we revisit Santorini. I could not think of anything that was missing from our stay here. Everything was 10/10 in our opinion.

Thank you to all the staff, we had an amazing stay!

Fantastic views, service and amenities. Easy access to the cliff top path around the caldera means with a fairly energetic hike you can be in Fira or Oia without too much difficulty.
Be aware though that there is not much outside of the hotel to do (aside from a very good traditional restaurant over the road, reviewed separately) so you either stay put, hike or pay 25€ each way for a taxi. The restaurant is fine dining after 6.30 and is recommended, although be prepared to pay top end “Santorini” prices.

San Antonio is a very good hotel with stunning views of the Caldera - perhaps one of the best spots on the island for a hotel. The swimming pool was very nice and great to spend time there. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant offered very good services. However, the hotel seems to focus too much on a particular audience of 'honeymooners' and 'Instagram couples', which can be a bit annoying. The soundtrack of the restaurant and bar was so 'elevator' music and repetitive, which makes it difficult to stay too long (and I guess the musical choice is reflective of the public they are aiming for). The staff, especially in the reception and bar/restaurant, was very friendly and helpful, though, which helps to counterbalance this. There was a problem with the room on the first night, but then we were upgraded the next day to a better room which helped to improve an initially disappointing experience.
In sum, a great hotel, which offers a very good range of services, beautiful rooms, and stunning views of the caldera and swimming pool, but perhaps it could aim to diversify its audience to make it more soulful and interesting.

A wonderful Greek easter vacation for 2.
Amazing views. Fabulous breakfast ( likely one of the best breakfasts we’ve had) and most hospitable staff! We stayed for 3 nights in April. The hotel is basically located in between two main villages so a car is a necessity to get around.
Improvement ideas: they could have larger beds and better quality sheets, mattress and towels. Also, the shower situation was a little uncomfortable as there was no glass to stop the water from going on to the bathroom floor. Generally I feel that the rooms could be updated to be more comfortable and inviting.
The price we paid for the month of April did not create dissatisfaction on the above. 200€ a night in Santorini with this quality breakfast we felt was a good deal. An overall great experience and we would definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed in San Antonio Hotel for a week. We wanted peace and quiet to relax and unwind, and the hotel definitely delivered. Our stay was perfect from start to finish.

Upon arrival, we were offered a welcome drink and then shown to our room. A few minutes later, we received a complimentary bottle of wine and some local dips and tomatoes.

Our room was huge and exactly what you’d expect from Santorini with the white decor and high ceilings. The balcony area was great. It overlooked the pool and the sea. We never got tired of seeing that view 😁 Housekeeping visited twice a day - in the evening it was to offer you a change of towels and drop off chocolates and water.

Food at the hotel was excellent. The breakfast menu was extensive and you could even order a breakfast desert! Highly recommend the breadbasket at breakfast, it was our treat every morning. Dinner was very good too…we ate in the restaurant three times during our stay. Room service is an option too but we didn’t bother because we liked the restaurant area so much.

The pool area was excellent, though the water was a bit cold in the pool. We never had to worry about getting a sun lounger, they were always available with towels being replaced frequently. The pool area and other common areas are extremely well maintained - it’s one of the cleanest hotels I can remember.

We used the spa twice during our stay and the treatments were excellent. The therapists really knew what they were doing. I loved the privacy of the spa and that it’s for your exclusive use if you do book a treatment.

We rented a car so getting around wasn’t an issue. The car park is across the road from the hotel. Parking is free, as you’d expect. On the occasions when we didn’t want to drive, the hotel has drivers on hand to take you where you need to go (for a fee 🙃). I’d happily trade not being in walking distance of shops for the peace and quiet of the San Antonio.

Thank you again to all the staff who made our stay so special - especially the lady on reception who checked us in and Sara in the bar / restaurant.

My 10th item on the island but first time at the San Antonio. An absolute stunner of a hotel from its location to the quality of property. There staff are truest amazing and nothing is a problem. We have just finished 10 days here and the hotel was perfect. First class rooms and dining areas with a fantastic infinity pool overlooking the caldera and other parts of the island as well as Therasia. It is set into the rocks and benefits from being totally sheltered from the winds. It has a proper 5 star feel and I highly recommend it as a perfect Santorini hotel.
Special thanks to the magnificent staff from the front desk through the ladies serving us at breakfast.......and what a breakfast.
Well done San Antonio and we look forward to seeing many times in future years

This hotel is glorious. It is right on the Aegean Sea and they have restaurant seating overlooking the water. Plus, each room has a patio overlooking the Aegean Sea as well. The restaurant is delicious, I enjoyed Baoben Buns, which is like a lobster roll but with shrimp. Their free breakfast includes whatever you want to order from the menu. Their praline pancakes were my favorite. I enjoyed two massages in their spa. My room was large with a king sized bed and a very large bathroom with a massive shower. The staff helped us book a private tour of Santorini at the last minute, our boat tour was cancelled due to high winds. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. They also provided transportation to and from the Santorini Airport.

San Antonio Suites is a great hotel. Well located (even if I would prefer a hotel in Oia for the full and real experience of Santorini) and with the best service. We get an upgrade during our stay and get the best suite with jacuzzi (other rooms with sharing balconies can be disappointing) and a free bottle of wine. Most of the clients spend their time in the beautiful swimming-pool and there is space and sunbeds for everybody. Only bad point : clients. Most of them are honey-moaners, some of them are influencers and spent their time taking pictures of themselves, others are very bling-bling and like to show off. My best suggestion : book the best suite, enjoy your view and jacuzzi and go to the swimming pool early in the morning. Go to the restaurant for breakfast with the amazing view but no necessary to book for lunch and dinner. Go to experience the weird and amazing life in Oia.

I do not recommend catching a taxi unless necessary in Santorini, because the chance of getting ripped off is quite high. Taxi drivers in Santorini have developed a reputation for ripping off tourists so your best bet is to dine onsite. If you do want to dine in Oia or Fira, getting a taxi from the hotel should not be a problem as they can arrange one for you easily. But getting back to the hotel can be a problem as you are in the mercy of the taxi driver. Catching a taxi in Oia can also be a challenge.
