Bodhi Surf + Yoga is an award-winning B Corporation and 1% for the Planet member surf and yoga camp located in the small, coastal community of Bahia Ballena, Osa, Costa Rica. At our quaint and homey lodge, we host a maximum of 10 guests per week for our 1 or 2-week long surf and yoga camps and retreats. Our surf curriculum unfolds inside the spectacular Marino Ballena National Park — one of the best beaches in the world for learning to surf. These surf sessions offer ample opportunity to gain mastery, independence, and encourage ocean stewardship. Our yoga classes take place in our open "treehouse" yoga studio and help to disconnect and dig deep. The holistic flow of the week encourages personal growth — breathing deep, stretching, and reconnecting with self and nature. To top it all off, it is the delicious meals, comfortable lodging, and friendly community that make the experience truly memorable.

What an AMAZING experience! From beginning to end I felt safe, informed and well cared for. The eco-lodge is beautiful with serene gardens and salt water pool; rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and supportive. The classes surpassed my expectations in terms of the knowledgeability of the instructors and the quality of their instruction. We loved everything about our experience at Bodhi. My husband and I had minimal surf experience going in, but the instructors were incredibly patient and skilled. We left feeling like we grew and learned more than I thought possible in 1 week. The yoga was the perfect mix of challenging yet gentle, and I could go on and on about the delicious, high quality food. The same can be said of every aspect of Bodhi, honestly. The staff, lodging, amenities, community and instruction were beyond what we could have hoped for! We definitely suggest getting out and exploring the surrounding area, as well. If you're considering booking a stay at Bodhi, we would 100% recommend that you do it!

Bodhi Surf + Yoga was just an amazing week in my life. This is not a pretentious week of superficial Costa Rica. This is an authentic week of getting to know a small village and great team while intensely challenging the mind and body to learn surfing and yoga. Work and stress goes to the background as you focus on family and relaxation. Meantime, all around are opps to do more: waterfalls, ziplining, amazing restaurants. Uvita has it all and the crew at Bodhi are the best. Thank you!

This was my second time to Bodhi, the first time was as a sola traveler a few years ago and was phenomenal. I had been wanting to bring my family back ever since, and we were finally able to make it happen during spring break this year. We have 2 daughters- ages 4 and 8 and stayed at bungalow gratitud, which is a perfect size for 4. Overall. Bodhi has a lovely space that is very well cared for, (my four year old kept saying “costa rica is so beautiful! there) and that’s kind of a thread through the whole experience. From the delicious meals to the depth of the teaching of surf and yoga to the community experiences and attention to environmental impacts, you can feel how much intention and thought and care is put into everything there. We can’t wait to go back!

Bodhi was amazing! The staff are attentive to their guests and so passionate about what they do. We felt like we were visiting friends. They encouraged us to push past our comfort zones, so we left feeling very accomplished. The whole experience is as unique as it sounds... pairing the practices of surf and yoga, training both body and mind. And did I mention the food? Our week at Bodhi was honestly probably one of the best weeks of our lives. If you want to have a week of pure bliss, relaxation, connection, adventure, great food and people, stretching yourself and your mind, connecting with nature and health then this is your place. Bodhi was amazing! The resort is peaceful and beautiful. The town is vibrant and felt safe. The staff is spectacular. The bed was creaky and had a stiff mattress, though, and the shower was lukewarm, but that felt good in the heat. The surfing instruction was engaging and effective. Bodhi made surfing a possibility and FUN for us inlanders.

Bodhi Surf & Yoga was by far the absolute best experience I had. It exceeded all my expectations. From the extremely kind, generous and inviting team, highly knowledgeable surf and yoga instructors to every single staff member onsite, they were beyond incredible. The homes are quaint, extremely clean and very comfortable. Fanny makes the most incredible food, I wish I could bring her home! The experience is incredible - it gives you the opportunity to meet various types of people you otherwise wouldn’t come across and it works! Learning how to surf and actually getting up on the board on day 2(yes day 2) was a liberating feeling. The instructors, Travis and Adrianne, work with everyone individually, helping you hone in on your technique and balance. The water is literally warm, bath water! If you’re afraid of the ocean like me, you have NOTHING to worry about! No weird fish poking or nibbling at your feet or seaweed wrapping around you, just the most amazing waves and sunset. I couldn’t say nicer things about Bodhi and the team, I would 1000% recommend this to every single person to experience, at least once. I have traveled all over the world & can honestly say that in my 49 years this was one of the best trips I’ve EVER taken. You don’t feel like you’re at a hotel, you feel like you’re visiting someone’s gorgeous home. From the minute we booked, Travis was communicating and answered all of our questions about the logistics of our trip and fun things to do in the area. We were a group of new surfers & Travis was an incredible teacher, making sure every person (no matter what level) felt comfortable in the water. It was a blast! Pilar is an excellent yoga instructor. She tailored each session to our group’s ability & was super encouraging. Really loved chatting with her as well! Their yoga studio feels like being in a treehouse. It’s so beautiful. George & Adrienne were fantastic hosts. They took great care of us. They answered our questions, hung out at meals, participated in surf lessons to keep everyone safe. Truly enjoyed my time hanging out with them. Fanny is an incredible cook. The breakfasts were delicious. Group dinners had all of us going back for seconds (& thirds). Keisha was great help in renting bicycles, getting Taxis, coordinating massages, etc. The housekeeping staff was on top of it. The rooms are always so clean and very comfortable. I could go on for days. Would 100% recommend for somebody who wants to visit someplace unique that hasn’t been taken over by resorts. There were delicious restaurants in town, beautiful national parks, and really cool people. Bodhi is the place to stay. I would go back in a heartbeat.…

Bodhi is a beautiful place to enjoy a great surf and yoga holiday, it feels like a second home. The super friendly people, the garden and bungalows make you feel at home straight away. The surf instruction is very good for all levels of surfing. Theory about the ocean, waves and surftechnique help you improve really fast. Groups are small and enough instructors. I can 't compare it to any of the previous camps I have been to. The yoga is the same, it really adds to the surf and the whole experience. Groups are often very diverse, from solo, couples to families which gives great vibes! One more super plus is the great and healthy food:) Bodhi is a place where you can enjoy and learn and also have a holiday where you can take a step back and learn from the staff and local community. If you are a morning person, then waking up to the jungle sounds will be no issue, otherwise take some earplugs.
