This hotel scammed us. We reserved two deluxe partial sea-view rooms and paid an all-inclusive rate for the food and drinks. When we arrived we were given rooms facing a public beach parking lot... There was no ocean view in sight - just a bunch of cars coming and going right underneath our windows. When we saw this we requested different rooms but were told that the hotel was fully booked and they could only change one room out of the two the day after and the new room wouldn't have an ocean view either. We informed them that we weren't going to stay there and asked for our money back. They told us that they were not giving us any money back whatsoever and were completely unapologetic about it. We moved to a different hotel right away, as my parents didn't come all the way from Ukraine to look at a parking lot. It was also my Mom's 70th Birthday celebration... We asked booking.com for a refund, and they denied us, stating that the hotel told them that they offered us alternative rooms and we refused to take them. So, not only did this hotel give us horrible rooms, didn't provide any refund for rooms or food, but also lied to booking.com, so we couldn't get the refund from them either. I've been to Costa Rica 4 times, stayed all over the county in many hotels there, and never had such a terrible experience. Overall, the grounds look much less impressive than in the pictures and the hotel looks very cheap and dated. There was a giant pothole right on the walkway and staff carried luggage carts manually over it. The restaurant is only open during very limited hours, only serves buffet food and there are no other food/snack options when the restaurant is closed. Save yourself trouble and book elsewhere.…
We had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this resort. Staff is simply impressive. They all go beyond to meet and surpass your needs and expectations. Very friendly, and courteous. Resort is lovely
This is the perfect hotel for a stay in Costa Rica! Excellent location, service, beach, pools, wildlife, food, and drinks. Truly a relaxing and amazing experience. You wake up daily to birds and monkeys. After returning from fun filled day excursions this place is the perfect finish.
I was here for week with my family for a birthday celebration and this was Hands Down the best customer service I have ever received! The phenomenal staff here is what makes this hotel worth coming to. I will definitely stay here again!
This hotel was very nice and very quiet. Everybody else has said the good points about the hotel and I agree. For anyone else's first time, American Dollars is the preferred currency. I think they could improve the experience by having a coffee and hot water urn with paper throw-away-cups, milk, sugar and tea bags at the side of the bar, then you can help yourself. It was hard to find staff to have a mid-day coffee or tea as a few of the wait staff don't understand English that well. They don't have an ATM machine, so it's a nuisance if you run out of cash and want to go on an excursion, 15% is added if you use a credit card. Jorge the bar tender could not do enough for you - perfect English, and translated to kitchen staff that I had celiac disease. After that, the staff would say yes or no to what food I was taking at meal times.…
This is a lovely resort. The staff are very sweet and helpful and we found it clean and the food good. We ate lots of salad and vegetables as the quality was wonderful. (repetitive? Maybe, but if you choose something different each day, then you needn't eat the same thing over and over) When we were there it was very quiet, as there were only about 20 or so guests. Could they do better? Of course. There are broken pavings, could use umbrellas around the pool (as the few trees don't help with shading from hot sun), something to do in the evening. Even something simple like a Karaoke would be fun. And give more info on excursions. The people on the beach push their excursions but they aren't necessarily cheaper and we didn't really trust them. Maybe arrange shuttles to local towns, or have an arrangement with a company (not asking for it for free). It is hit and miss on what you pay to taxi companies. $20 to Coco Beach with one guy and $30 with another. We also think they could benefit with offering an ATM and a little shop for toiletries, stamps, postcards or just a few gift items. If you want quiet, this is the place as everything is closed by 10. The games bar is badly laid out so difficult to play pool or darts if people are sitting around as they are in the way. However it is very safe, and we met some lovely people and had a relaxing time. A shout out to Jorge Romero as he has only worked there a week and he's full of information and helpful translating to other staff. My husband has celiac disease and Jorge was able to ask about which foods were safe for him to eat. All in all, we had a lovely time and with a little effort could change a 7 our of 10 to a 10! Just a tip, For anyone's first time to Costa Rica, American Dollars is the preferred currency and everything is priced in US dollars.…
Had a wonderful stay at the CC beachfront property! Gorgeous views, wonderful staff, food was amazing and rooms fantastic! I would most definitely come here to stay next time! Highly recommended. Climate is amazing!
Great resort for family. Good food, good location. Very hard working and pleasant staff. Great drinks. Tons of space. We never felt crowded. The beach is only OK, so I would recommend a tour. Walls are a bit thin so bring noise cancelling headphones if you go to bed early. This resort offers great value. I would go back.
If like us you have past experiences with numerous resorts and all inclusive operations then you have an expectation within reason of the quality of the facilities, services, and the food and beverages available. The ratings I read online are definitely misleading. This is not a 4.8 star resort. No gym, no spa, extremely limited selections for meals AND highly repetitive. Feels like it operates on a shoestring budget. Arriving and seeing a large open area adjacent to the main entrance bare of vegetation and a section of broken sidewalk( patched with gravel), and buildings which need power washing is not what most of us would expect. The primary positive is that the staff is very pleasant and responsive.
We were here only two nights and would have loved to have stayed longer! Located right on the beach, it is great to be able to spend time between the pool or the beach. The staff were friendly, the food and drinks were plentiful. My only comment about my experience in CostaRica after staying at 4 different locations..is how quickly everything shuts down at night. By 10 pm you can hear a pin drop and I was unaccustomed to that.
