The couple who runs the hotel (more like a B&B) was very welcoming on our arrival. Our twin room was small but clean. The room was traditionally decorated and had a lovely view of the town.
Breakfast included in the rate was a nice traditional fare- Bulgarian bread, home made yogurt, tea/coffee etc. Breakfast room was cosy with a fire place.
We loved staying at Panorama because the hosts were extremely warm and kind. Check in and out was so easy. Their laid back attitude was very pleasant and made our holiday easier. When we asked what time breakfast was, the response was ‘whenever you want we’ll prepare for you’. They seem genuinely interested in us having a good holiday in Bulgaria and took time explaining food, Bulgarian culture, town, and history. They speak English fluently. Reservation via email was easy and quick.
If you are after a genuine Bulgarian hospitality and experience, I would highly recommend Panorama.
The rooms were generously sized with a balcony, a mini fridge and really comfortable mattresses on the beds. There were plenty of outlets to recharge batteries and were conveniently located so that you could use a computer or tablet while laying in bed. The wifi worked throughout the hotel and on the balconies with no interruptions.
Bathrooms had tile floors, a small electric heater to take the chill off and a separate shower stall with nice hot water and good water pressure.
With the colder night temperatures the room had two heating sources, an electric panel below the large window and a central hot water radiator. The hostess turned them both on for me and made sure I understood how each of them worked. Additionally there were extra blankets in the cabinet if one preferred more blankets on the bed.
The hotel was quiet at night as there is no motorized traffic nearby and being a small town there's not much traffic anyway, especially at night. All in all a very peaceful and restful place to stay.
In the lower level of the hotel is the restaurant with a woodstove on one end providing a nice warm atmosphere to enjoy the meal. The menu was typical of most Bulgarian restaurants and the hosts were great at suggesting some local dishes and items to go with the meal. The food was well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced.
Access by car is not easy though as the street doe not exist on GPS maps, are narrow and bumpy cobblestones only - so be prepared! But it is definitively worth the effort!
We felt really privileged to get to know the family well thanks to Simo and his sister speaking very good English. The location of the hotel could not be better and is very comfortable. We had visited the hotel for a few days in 2014 and this year stayed for a few days at the beginning and end of a four week holiday in Bulgaria. We would highly recommend a visit to Koprivshtitsa and staying at the Panorama
The rooms are not 5 star, but then again they're good value for the price charged. Great views from the balcony.
The village is really nice and worth the trip.
"As far as we could tell, any room would do bu one overlooking the valley below would be preferred."Read full review
"Second floor rooms have a better view of the town from their balconies but otherwise, from what I could see, each room is pretty identical in what it offers."Read full review
