We were so tired fr our Siquijor trip so we decided to stay a night in Dumaguete before going to Cebu.....we went first to Harold's Mansion & the Tric driver said he would wait for us outside. The lobby was so small & didn't look clean. Their water system was being fix.....so we looked for another hotel. The Tric driver recommended Grand Pensionne. My only requirement was it gotta be clean. The lobby was so clean & cool. We immediately got a room for 3 persons & it was a steal for less than a thousand pesos. Big savings on our part. It was only about 3 minutes to the boulevard where we had merienda, Location is near the bank & downtown area. The room had 2 big beds, a ref, flat screen TV and was very very clean. Check out this hotel when u drop by Dumaguete.

We arrived early in Dumaguete, our actual hotel (which i will not name) was strict in the 2pm check in time. My husband and I really needed a bed to sleep on since we came from a night shift and straight to the airport. This was the nearest pension house that accommodated us at 8am. They do not have a “short time” rate but for the price we paid which is 40% cheaper from our original hotel, we could stay until 12 noon the next day. They could improve on the aircon (loud sound) though. But the bed and pillow was amazing.

It is my children's first experience with checking in at a different city so they pretty much enjoyed the experience. The rooms was clean and comfortable. The price range is good for people travelling on a budget. Since we arrived early they were able to cater us and did not charge us extra for early check in. They have good wifi connection and is accessible to most restaurants in town.

Accommodating staff especially the security guard who is also their bellboy. Very affordable hotel. Almost all tricycle drivers know the place and recommends it to tourists. Fully booked most of the time. Food is delicious and affordable, no additional fee for room service. If you are a PWD, request a room on the ground floor because they dont have an elevator.

This is my probably my fourth or fifth stay with Grand Pensionne Plaza and I'm very happy to say it's as good as I remembered. I opted for a family room at php1100.00 and I was auper surprised that the room was HUGE!

It had a ref, a queen-sized, and twin-sized bed, and a huge bathroom!

I love that the a/c is strong and that the room has a 32-inch wall-mounted TV. The bedsheets smell freshly laundried and the pillows are soft and sufficiently plump.

The frontdesk people are polite and they really go out of their way to help you feel right at home. The hotel is also conveniently located near downtown and a short walk away from banks and restaurants.

Wifi is strong too!

I'd definitely recommend this hotel to travellers who want to have a good night's sleep on a budget. Thank you Grand Pensionne Plaza Hotel for another awesome stay. :).

Had to stay a night at Dumaguete before going to Cebu and without prior reservations we were looking for random place to stay in the city. Fortunately, our tricycle driver suggested this place and with P780, your room is complete with tv, aircon, comfortable bed. Staff is accommodating. WiFi was not functioning when we got there but overall, the place is great.

The place is not bad. I haven't booked a room but when I arrived, they have 1 available, so I hose to stay there. The place looks nice, and I really love the dogs they have there! Very friendly dogs than the staff. The guard as well is so friendly, unlike the receptionist. hahaha food are a bit pricey, but since this spot is near everything, it's easy to get a better spot for food. you can smoke downstairs as they don't offer rooms for smokers. AC is really noisy though. luckily I'm not that picky. I just need place to sleep that night. this one for 800 php per night is not bad at all.

We had an idea where we wanted to stay, but found this place before we reached our destination. It was cheaper, had more amenities, and was newly renovated to boot. It's not a luxury resort, but it offered everything we needed.

Their check-in time is 12NN so supposedly the customer should have his/her room by that time especially when it is already paid full. Unfortunately, there were circumstances that happened which we clearly understood. They have only 1 room cleaner present today. What made us so offended is how the front desk clerk responded to us when we ask for our room. We where at the hotel early in morning. We paid them full. The attendant told us that we can have our room by 1PM. We said yes because maybe they need time to prepare the room. We went back at the hotel by 12:30 PM. She told us to wait and sit at their waiting area. It was already 1:30 PM still we didn't have our room. I asked her why the room took to long and how many minutes more does we need to wait because we badly need to rest. "45 minutes. Pwede nimo i withdraw maam" Her response. I felt so insulted. We should have understood the situation however the front desk clerk was not kind enough to said sorry; and was rude to give us an option to withdraw what we paid hours before their check-in time.

I would never go back in this hotel even if all the hotels in Dumaguete are fully booked.

Not bad for the price. Good water pressure in the shower, hot water working well, cable TV, a/c. Room's a bit old, though, so it's not for picky travellers. Location is really good as well, it's within walking distance to the cluster of restos/cafes surrounding Rizal Boulevard and the port.

How far is it from the port? Is it walking distance?
Tagbilaran City, Philippines71 contributions4 helpful votes
So sorry for the late reply. If you take a ride on a tricycle about 5-10 minutes. If you walk about 15-20 minutes.
