Room, reception and hallways look and feels old, really needs to have a renovation.
Other issue, its a bit far from the city center so public transportation charge is a bit higher and sometimes you have to charter a tricycle to and from some points in the city.
Good points: Staff were friendly, internet service is decent, near to the airport, near to city mall and spacious bathroom.
There's a small local restaurant in the main entrance that looks fancy and seems to be popular among local.
The food is based around sizzling bulalo,an enormous shank bone of meat which comes out sizzling.It is fit for a caveman as the size and presentation is ridiculous.The meat was tender but not that plentiful.Tone it boys tone it down!The other food consisted of a fried pancit,Iprefer the traditional way.The asparagus soup was very good as where most of the other dishes.Nothing stood out.The service was good,typical Filipino of off timing on delivery.If you want to have fun order the sizzling Bulalo as everyone does and think back to the caveman days.
* Room stinks of mold, they brought in an air freshener that did nothing
* Toilet runs and would not stop... needed to be flushed multiple times for over half an hour sometimes to get it to stop running.
* Towel bar broken off wall and left their with sharp edges.
* Holes in the sheets.
* No access to clean water, you must buy it.
*** And the worst problem of all... I went to access my safety deposit box in the front desk, and it was OPEN... I thought i had the only key? Nothing was missing but now i was terrified to leave my passport and cash anywhere. They could not explain why it was open.
STAY AWAY!
Oh, did I miss out on the slice of quadruple chocolate cake? You better seize the chance to take a bite and believe that the moonlight shines on Paris after the sun goes down.
This hotel is cheap, and as usual you get what you pay for. There are building works going on, and the noise lasted until about10pm and started again at 8am. It has quite large but basic rooms. For the money it is good value, but it is quite dated.
If you are arriving late, or leaving early from the airport then this place is perfect. It isn't in the centre of town though so for a general stay in Dumaguete, you would probably be wise to pick something more central
