We stayed here for 3 nights during our stay on Dumaguete and cannot recommend it enough! Mae and all of the staff were so lovely and helpful. The hostel itself is very homely and clean, and offers everything you need during your stay. It is not too far from the boulevard so you can easily walk there, and it is within walking distance of many attractions in Dumaguete. We had such a wonderful time here, and would definitely stay again.
Mae hostel two of us (M/F) for just 1 night but left a big impression. Her hostel is ultra clean, air conditioned, very comfortable beds, free fast WiFi and straightforward check-in/check out. Also Mae gave us high quality recommendations for places to eat as well as giving us free homemade (delicious!) dessert she made herself. Hot showers, free water, place to prepare food and a social area also here. All fundamental bases covered. Extremely good value for money. Highly recommend.
A friend and I stayed at this hostel for a few day and it really made our trip to Dumaguete. Nice rooms with aircon, shower with hot water and bike rental - all for a good price. The staff are super friendly and helpful with lots of recommendations for things to do around the town. They also put us in contact with dive shops for a day trip to Apo island. Would highly recommend staying here.
We highly recommend staying at Casa Arrieta! Mae and her family are so welcoming and truly make you feel at home. They made us a welcome desert and offer a free walking tour. The rooms are all facilities are very clean (and great wifi which is a perk). This is not a party hostel but a great great place to relax in a clean and friendly family environment (and the location is great too!) ! It was truly the nicest staff we have come Across !! Make sure you get your photo on the wall before you leave :) great to support a small new hostel in town !
It’s a beautiful home renovated to meet the needs of today’s practical travellers. The house is located along Hibbard road, perpendicular to the famous seafood restaurant Lantaw and a 5-minute walk to Harold’s dive center. You will be greeted by Jeza, a cheerful front desk who lipreads perfectly you will hardly notice she is deaf. Casa Arrieta caters to minimal number of guests so sharing of comfort rooms and showers won’t be a problem. You can read from a selection of books or, like us, master the Philippine game sungka (mancala). They have everything you need — laundry area, kitchenette, ref, utensils — with free coffee and sylvanas to welcome your sweet stay. The owners are lovely — the mother and daughter tandem will make you feel comfortable. If you need to find a place that is Dumaguete, then Casa Arrieta is the perfect home you are looking for.…
