I stayed in this place for 2 weeks straight to attend a bootcamp. A good place to stay in Dumaguete City. Excellent location, friendly staff and it's near to pharmacy, police station, public market, and even 7/11 store on the entrance.
Situated near the 7 eleven, and cost £1 by trike from the bus station. Very centrally located and an easy walk to restaurants, the University, the waterfront and supermarkets and shops. Very friendly check in. Room very basic, and had no windows but it was clean. Aircon powerful, intermittent wifi signal and decent amount of hanging space. Beds not that comfortable but clean. Bathroom and shower pretty food. Free water in reception. Overall quite good value for the cheap price.
We really enjoyed our stay here when we travel to Dumaguete with my cousins. The location is very good, just short tricycle ride to some of the tourist spots and restos. 7-11 is just at the front of the building. The room is spacious enough and comfortable during the stay. They even provided us with pail and dipper which we truly appreciate. The reception is welcoming and the receptionists are warm and accommodating. They even lend us with umbrellas because it was raining almost every time we go out. The only downside was our rooms are located in the 3rd floor and there is no elevator so we had a hard time with luggages and bags. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay.
This is located at the center of everything in Dumaguete. Near the Church, Plaza, Boulevard and even hospital. No breakfast included but the hotel is very near the fast food and there is a 711 store at the ground of the hotel. Staffs are all very nice and friendly. If you leave the hotel to roan around the city, you should leave the room key at the front desk. For safe keeping too.overall honn6 stay here again
GOLDEN GATE SUITES - 3 star Barely enough floor area for a 2pax room. Clean rooms for hotel that opened in 2016 and the room still looks new relatively; reasonably priced. Room 210 has 54" bed & has no window, its flat TV is poorly located at the other side of the bed with swinging hinge, the somewhat dresser in front of the bed has no light & mirror. Shower area of bathroom is poorly positioned. Clothes cabinet are without doors. Quick check in and check out (at 3am). Has 24/7 convenient store at ground floor & other services. Restaurants are nearby wd pharmacy infront.
The title sums up the only good thing about this hotel. Have you heard that expression "the camera never lies"..?? Well it does in the case of this hotel. The photos of the hotel are very complimentary to say the least. The entrance is through an alleyway nestled between a convenience store and a beauty salon The rooms are quite small. I was first given a double room with the aircon 2 feet from my bed, blasting my head with air colder than an antartic blizzard. I complained and was given a twin room with a better positioned aircon unit. It was still very noisy though. I started itching during the first night. Next day I told reception and they got housekeeping to fumigate my room whilst I was out. The toilet flush was absolutely useless. It only let out about 50 ml per flush. There's a Phillpines wide advisory of not flushing tissues down the toilet, you're supposed to lob used tissues into the adjacent bin. Absolutely disgusting and smelly practice. Anyway, by now I'd given up complaining and decided to enjoy my holiday in the city. There's no hotel restaurant, just a 24/7 shop in the entrance called 7Eleven. Here you can buy hot and cold drinks, snacks etc. Some tables & benches also there. The alleyway mentioned above has an unusual alternative use. From lunchtime till late evening it becomes a "sitting down massage area". The masseuse/masseurs are all blind. I had a massage from them once. It's very humbling to see them working and also very empowering for them too I'm sure. God bless them all. Thanks to the cheap but very noisy and polluting tricycles, you can get to anyway in Dumaguete for max 20 pesos. The airport from the hotel is 120 though. It depends what you're after really. If you're a young backpacking hostel sharing bohemian type, then this hotel would feel salubrious to you. But if you're an older more discerning traveller who likes some home cimforts, then I'd advise you to avoid this place.…
I immediately booked Golden Gate Suites the moment I read the great reviews through Agoda— no regrets as I enjoyed every single night of our stay there. Pros (+) - Value for money. Still couldn’t believe this is a budget hotel. For a room less than Php 1000 (approx $20), you get to have a comfy double bed, clean sheets, spacious room/ bathroom, a/cs in good condition, cable tv, basic toiletries, regular housekeeping (request basis), free drinking water, warm, knowledgeable & helpful hotel staff from the receptionists, security guard, every staff. We were able to borrow an umbrella since it was raining when we visited. - Place is near the boulevard (where most of the restaurants are located) but not walking distance- near. You would still need to ride a tricycle that costs a dime (Php 10/ride route per person) - I’d say the hotel is strategically located since there’s a convenient store (7/11), coffee shop, massage facilitated by the blinds, a spa/massage parlor at the ground. A fast food (Mang Inasal) & a rural bank (atm) in front. The public market where budbud & sikwate could be bought is a few steps away from the hotel. Cons (-) - I really couldn’t think of any downside considering the cost of the accommodation but a bidet or a dipper could have improved our experience (locals are not used to tissue papers when doing #2) - As much as possible, request for a room at the 2F since they don’t have elevators Verdict: Excellent budget hotel. Don’t think twice, book it!…
So bad. Air conditioned is super noisy, Cr smell so bad and everything is dirty and old. No side tables in the bed and no side lamp. Is bad maintained and bad organize. The worst place I’ve been in Dumaguete. I would never come back
My wife and daughter stayed here three weeks ago and I stayed there myself last weekend (my daughter goes to Silliman so we are on the shuttle). Cheap, well-located place in middle of downtown. Nothing special, but very clean, with good, responsive staff. AC worked fine both stays, but based on other reviews, your mileage may vary, so check out the AC as soon as you check in. About 1K to a bit more per night depending on room type, so good value for the money in downtown. Furnishings a bit sparse for the single (which they call a double but that's stretching it), no chair in the room, though I suppose I could have asked for one. Mang Inasal restaurant around the corner and 7-Eleven right outside the hotel, You can get "blind massage" in the hallway leading to the hotel if you're so inclined.…
My regular place to stay in Dumaguete. The suites provide a silent haven of peace from the outside chaos. Always the best sleep with the quietest air-conditioning. Water pressure in the shower is a little low but otherwise totally brilliant
