We came back to El Conquistador 7 years after our original stay, to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our two toddlers. When we arrived, we noticed the front entrance was completely under construction. There is a tent set up next to the self parking to check your temperature and sometimes there are golf carts available to drive you to the front desk. If no carts are available, you have about a 10 minute walk through the convention center to arrive at the main hotel. Upon check-in there were two staff members working and one person in front of us waiting to check in. It took a total of 45 minutes to get to the desk to check in. This includes the time it took for someone 3 persons behind us to slip the manager her credit card and check in before we were called. I am assuming she was a “friend” and received the luxury of skipping everyone else who was waiting a long time before her. We checked in for one night only to enjoy Coqui waterpark and Palomino island with our children. The island requires reservations but was closed the day we checked in unfortunately, even though I was told when I called to book that the island was open daily. We ended up having to make reservations for our check out date instead which was a little inconvenient as we had nowhere to change comfortably since checkout was 11AM. After check in, we arrived to the room and the views were incredible. The views at this resort are nothing less than breathtaking. The room was updated after hurricane Maria, but some things were left without remodel. Little things such as the shower and shower fixtures had erosion on the sides which is no big deal, but not expected for a luxury hotel. Later that night, when we went to bathe the little ones, the water in the tub and faucet all came out brown. We called customer service and we’re told to run the water till it became clear, so we ran it for about 20 minutes. I got upset as this is a very expensive hotel and although I understand construction is going on, there shouldn’t be issues like that where I feel unsafe using the essentials in the room I’m staying at. Speaking of construction, there is ALOT OF IT. I would say the hotel is only about 15-20% done. There are machines and construction EVERYWHERE. The pool and water Park is where we spent most of our time… it was great. Palomino island was a let down. It’s full of rocks and gets deep very quickly for the little ones we were with to enjoy, so we ended up back at the waterpark as it was awesome. Overall, I wouldn’t stay again as I visit Fajardo frequently and have other options. If you are wanting spectacular views, this is your pick.

Visited conquistador for 4days and had an amazing time. There’s still a lot of construction going because they are trying to get things back to normal from the hurricane but property itself is just amazing. The views are to die for. Not all the Restaurant are open but there are 4 of them that are and the food is amazing in all of them. The water park for the kids and even for adults is pretty good. They have 3 slides which are really good, they have the lazy river, also a section for little kids along with the pools in this area. For the beach you have to take a 10min ferry in which there is a ferry available in the hotel premises every hour from 9am-3pm and you can come back on the ferry whenever you want until 6pm. The beach is very well worth it, one of the top beaches in Puerto Rico (Palomino island) the hotel has its own private part of the beach where no one is allowed to enter unless your a hotel guest. On that side you have a bar, beach chairs, umbrellas and Food (not many choices, but enough). I went to the beach every day, want to give a special thanks to Wilma her service and work ethic was just amazing. After the first day she meet us she already knew my entire family name along with what My wife and I were drinking. The second day we arrived at the beach she waited for us by the entrance of the beach with beach towels ready to take care of us once again. Last but not least entertainment on weekends is pretty good they have bands and DJ playing but only until 12 because of the curfew out there right now. But overall I would definitely stay here again, very family friendly and Romantic at the same time so you get the best of both worlds.

Out here on a work conference. First trip to Arizona and this place is amazing. Joey R the bartender tonight is an ambassador for this hotel. When you visit hopefully he’s on duty. This has truly been an awesome visit. I’m in a great room that overlooks the pool. That’s a must. The pool bartender was great today as well. There decor and the food are nothing short of excellent. I can’t wait to bring my wife back.

I stayed at this property back in 2015 and it was quite spectacular but in need of a renovation. Fast forward past hurricane Maria where the property was hit pretty hard, the facilities are under a complete renovation. The property appeared to be at 30-40% complete--and the parts that were complete were nice. Give this unique property another year or so to complete its renovation and it will be back to top notch.

Everyone was very very nice and hospitable, especially Jessica Pion, front desk, excellent customer service. Lots of activities for whole family. In spite of very few restaurants open and limited selection, the food was good.
