We have been here many time before our recent visit a bit of a home from home resort or so we thought . This time after booking a well earned three week vacation here my experience was some what different aweful putting it mildly . Toliet broke literally came off the wall rooms needed updating and dirty and mouldy . My clothes were damp due to air conditioning. Curtains and nets dirty . Food has gone right down hill with a very limited set menu for lunch. Change of chefs not cooking very much Srilankan dishes . Asked 3 times for a beach towel and still didn’t get . The all inclusive is not worth the money very overpriced and not all items in all inclusive. Complained and nothing done and went to the main manager and his attitude wasn’t acceptable. Left after 4 days to go to another hotel as it was such an aweful experience we felt we couldn’t stay another night .They wouldn’t even organise a cab for us . When we got to another hotel we realised just how bad everything was. Service needs improvement and guests need to be treated as guests . Never going back here again . Ruined my holiday and I had to try and save it by gojng to another hotel which resorted in more costs . Manager said I’d get a refund for the remaining nights but seeing is believing. Aweful aweful experience and they should all be ashamed of themselves Mohan Siriwardena…
The arrival at this hotel is just excellent! Your taxi drops you off by the town side of the river at the hotel’s own very nice and spacious jetty reception area. From there you are transported by boat across the river to the hotel reception, a magical experience at any time of day. We had a suite at the end of the second floor wing (room 3216) with two balconies looking out across the gardens and into the palm tree tops, swaying and rustling, just lovely. All, and we mean All of the staff were wonderful during our eight day stay. Polite, helpful, friendly, efficient, an excellent example to gladden any traveller. Special mention to Nelka at reception, Rachitha in the buffet area and Kalinga who not kept our suite spotless but made the most wonderful towel sculptures on our bed all surrounded by fresh flowers. Like all hotels after this horrendous Covid challenge the Centara Ceysands has a few tired edges showing but their maintenance is ongoing and improvements show every day.…
The first thing to say here is that you must ignore any negative reviews about travel to Sri Lanka. Yes, there are some economic problems and peaceful demonstrations in Columbo, but nothing that is of any concern and you should not hesitate to book a holiday here. This resort is quite simply amazing, it has an unbeatable location with great facilities and wonderful food and drink. However, what sets it apart from the rest is the people. In every area of the resort from the ground team, the bar team, the restaurant team and the management team, every person was incredible. I would also add that every trainee there was superb, the management have chosen some excellent new team members and are clearly preparing them weel for their roles. Among all the great people I must mention three who stood out from even this great team. Around the pool Udara and Indika were superb and looked after us all day, every day whilst in the main bar Praneetha could not have done more to make our stay as wonderful as it was. You have a great team of people, please look after them.…
Great location in Bentota situated between the river and the ocean. Upon arrival we were taken, by boat, across the river to the hotel where we were greeted and checked in quickly. The staff throughout this resort are extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming and accommodating. They are genuinely lovely people who take an interest in the guests and their needs. Special shout out and thanks to Udara Madusanka, the pool boy, who looked after us around the pool. Sugath who kept our room spotless and cleverly created animal shapes with towels. Milan, Praneetha and Sampath who looked after us in the bar. All the staff helped make our holiday special and we hope to return one day.
This is the perfect destination for a family holiday. The food selection is great with some lovely local cuisine on offer every day. We stayed half board which was a great choice as the food around the pool was great and was also cheap for lunches. The staff in the restaurant was always so welcoming, especially Sachindu, he was certainly my sons favourite 👍🏻👍🏻 We can’t wait to return in the future
