My review is little overdue and I had the most pleasant and perfect holiday at TT in late July last year . Sending a big thanks to Dushan from reservation and Gihan from the resort for going beyond to make our stay even more fantastic . We stayed at the Dunkled bungalow for two beautiful nights and admire unique architecture and old colonial style that is beautifully reflected all through . No one should miss that stunning sun rise pictures overlooking the Castlereigh reservior and the stunningly beautiful infinity pool . Perfection at every level ! The details in every suite takes us back to the colonial era . Massive bedrooms and the bath room make it even more fun . The unique fireplace and we had the best time celebrating birthday of our friend by the fire place lingering over some champange and wine . Lots of furniture and pieces go back to some good old ages . The butler was very attentive and he 's been friendly and done a good job . We did engage in some exciting hikes up to the estates and the of course the kayaking trip around the lake was much enjoyed . It takes you to a whole new world when you get to walk through the lush green estates . We made a quick visit to the tea factory and must mention the gentleman at the tea factory for his enthusiasm in explaining the process and the history of tea. Something to derive during the holiday . Food was not the fanciest but we thoroughly enjoyed it . Variety of local cuisine served at the breakfast and it was literally a feast . Just a suggestion , may be you can upgrade the wine list and add some best wines to the discerning guests to enjoy for the amount they pay . RC is renowned for its best holiday experiences in SL and I am sure this will be considered . Thank you for the lovely experience and I did not want to leave . Look forward to another fantastic stay at TT soon . Sending lots of love to the dedicated team and the management of the resort .…
We spent 3 glorious days during x'mas at the Dunkeld Bungalow. I would give 100 marks as everything down to the last detail was truly amazing. Starting with the reservation handled by Dushan, choice of menus, presentation of food, choice of premium spirits, flexibility with all aspects that we can think of... efficient and courteous services extended by Jagath and the two chefs. Stunning walking trails with an attentive guide by your side. We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas vacation and I will not hesitate to say that it was, by far, the most memorable and exotic holiday experience spent in the hills. It was better than being in the Swiss Alps! Brilliant experience and we cannot wait to explore more of the Ceylon Tea Trails and in particular, a stay at the Tientsin Bungalow. You have certainly mastered the art of looking after your guests.…
I am someone who usually doesn’t write reviews but this holiday at Castlereagh bungalow of Ceylon Tea Trails was so exceptional I felt that it deserves the review. We had an absolutely amazing experience during our 3 night stay. The bungalow was luxurious and comfortable. The views were spectacular. Although we have seen the photos of picturesque sceneries of the hotel we could not bring ourselves to make this journey to hill country. But when we finally did it we realized it worth the whole effort. The location was ideal to unwind looking at the lush green tea plantation and the beautiful lake. The gardens of the bungalow are charming. What stands out most was the exceptional service of the staff. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The very next day after I made the reservation I received a call from Janaka, the butler of the bungalow giving me the directions and inquiring about our special requirements. From the moment we entered the bungalow we were made to feel like we are at home. The staff was so attentive and genuinely warm. They inquire in to all your needs and attended to them best way possible. Food was delicious and always made according to our requirements. We enjoyed different dining experiences everyday. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening high teas and our dinners in the garden under the fire. During our stay we could take a hike up the tea estate and a tea tasting session with the factory manager of their tea factory although we got to know many activities on offer have been restricted due to pandemic situation. Our stay at Tea Trails was truly magical. We are thankful for Janaka and the staff for making it memorable. …
Our family of 5 stayed for a few nights at the Dunkeld bungalow. The service was impeccable. The staff were amazing. We travelled with 3 young children including an infant and they made it very easy for us. This is during the COVID pandemic and they blocked off the unused rooms in the bungalow to maintain social distancing. Outstanding customer service! The location is amazing but a little hard to get to by car. The small roads were challenging but once you arrive all of that is quickly forgotten. The view and the fauna are marvelous. The pool is amazing and what an atmosphere it provided for my 6 AM swims! The food was very good. The menu was varied and each serving meticulously thought out. The serving sizes were just right and the selection of drinks were equally fine. The assorted cocktails and wines complemented the food nicely! Each day came to an end with a roaring fire and a glass of port in the sitting room! What an experience. We cannot wait to go back again! Brilliant experience.…
So far it was the best experience we had at The Owner’s Cottage at Dunkeld bungalow and I would give 20 out of 10 as everything down to the last detail was surprisingly amazing. Many thanks to jagath and the staff for an amazing gesture. Most lavish interiors yet so colonial makes u feel go back in time. The food undoubtedly the best and couldn't get more better with the presentation, thanks to the head chef Ranil. A must try
