This frustrating event happened during an overnight business trip to Laoag. I booked a room at the Westgate 2 nights prior. I arrived before 6pm of check in day to find that they were apparently under construction and that there was no reception area. The front driveway was the receiving area with a non uniformed male attendant serving as receptionist. I was informed that they had no rooms available and I had to wait for a guest who is checking out within the hour. I told him that the room was guaranteed to be available by the booking site. And that after a 10 hour trip from Manila; diving immediately into the series of meetings the whole day, I needed to enter my room freshen up and rest. Not having any options for a room, I demanded that I be refunded. He gave me a lame excuse that because I used a credit card, the main office was going to call the site to reverse the transaction. I told him that I would not want to be taken for a fool because he was not and could not offer a receipt/letter confirming my predicament. Less than half an hour later, the "manager" came in and gave me a cash refund.
The hotel resembled the seedy motels located in some notorious Manila motel areas. Each unit had the room on the second floor and below it was a garage with a big curtain to hide your vehicle and make you anonymous. Never again....

I booked this hotel while attending a seminar in Laoag City together with 7 of our office personnel. It was a total dismay when we reached the place realizing its a MOTEL! But anyway we checked in and there were only two employees and no guards, we have to carry our heavy bags to our rooma on the second floor with no elevator. While we stayed for 4 nights our room was never cleaned nor linens and towels changed!

We had a confirmed 2 night stay via email and a confirmed call from their hotel with number 09175442661. After a 12 hour journey, we arrived at 6pm to find out that our confirmed room was gone. I had the same predicament with 3 other guests who have to be bumped off due this hotel's negligence, inefficiency and stupidity. They did not even bother to inform us that our rooms were given to other guests are who are willing to pay double or triple the price we have booked in.

My friends and I stayed at West Gate Hotel in Laoag City during our Ilocos trip last June 12-15, 2015. The hotel staffs were really accommodating and very hospitable. They respond to the guest's request or concerns quickly upon every call and what was nice about it is when they come and knock at your door, a smile and polite approach will surely make you feel comfortable. I felt like home. Well, every hotel staff is always expected to be polite and hospitable, but maybe that could be the natural traits of the Ilocanos which made the distinction.

We (4 of us) spent 2 nights in this hotel for our Ilocos Region tour. To our dismay, the very thin bathroom tissue was only available during the 1st night. Bathroom is too small, no shower curtain at all. The whole bathroom is wet after taking a shower. WiFi could only be accessed in the reception area, and you're lucky if other guests are already sleeping. This doesn't look like a hotel at all... it's more like a motel or apartelle.

The hotel staffs were very accommodating and helpful to our need. They even assisted us some personal errands to the grocery store. The room was clean and comfy, and they had a speedy wifi connection.

There's a private parking, and also offering an airport transfer. The place is about 20 - 30 minutes from the airport (we paid 500 pesos), 5-10 minutes to Laoag business centre (the tricycle charged us 15/pax for 2), and 15 minutes to Robinsons Place (the tricycle - special ride charged us 50 pesos).

We booked this motel thru booking.com amd we even called them in the afternoon for the confirmation of the booking and they said yes it is available.
When we arrived at 6pm, the motel staff said they are fully booked and they cant accommodate us because they already sold it to walk in guests.
LIKE WT*?? We already paid it online and now you guys telling me that no rooms are available for us?! You guys are good scammers and worth checking in!
Staffs and lady owner are rude and ill mannered! THEY EVEN DIDNT GIVE US ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION FOR THE NEGLIGENCE AND MESS THEY DID!

I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND THERE'S A LOT OF CHEAP AND GOOD HOTELS NEARBY LAOAG MARKET.

VERY VERY POOR MOTEL!!

Room was okay, but I couldn't take how the staff treat us. So if you are planning to take this place make sure you are on your most expensive dress with your luxurious wheels. Before we leave the place the staff are mocking us especially the guy/gay is insinuating. Travelling with motorcycle doesn't mean "You are Poor"

Outside areas are maintained but rooms aren’t clean. Don’t think they have any housecleaning staff. On Arrival one evening we checked inand the bed covers where dirty. The bathroom mirror hadn’t be properly cleaned was full of water marks. We stayed there for a week and a half and the room didn’t get clean once or the sheets even didn’t get changed once. We had to ask for clean bath towels. Breakfast came every day from about 6/6.30am and it was delivered from jollybee. We just used the place to crash for the night it’s basic

We booked 3 rooms in this "hotel" and even called them to confirm our booking. We called them in advance to tell them we will be arriving late and asked them if that was okay, they said its okay. Upon arriving at the hotel, the staff told us there are no available rooms left! Imagine having to go through all the trouble only to find out your reserved room is not available anymore. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. Please find another one. We ended up looking for another available hotel at 12 midnight
