This is a nice hotel situated in Laoag city, close proximity to many stores, shops, market, and restaurants. Staff at this hotel are professional, friendly, and always willing to help and please their guests. We initially stayed in a room with 3-beds which was quite spacious. We returned 2 days later, and were placed in a room with one bed that was quite small, sort of like a boutique hotel room, which is fine for most people. I had an issue finding a small spider behind the bathroom door but this might be common in many hotel accommodations in the province. I am not afraid of spiders, but I do not want to see them while using the bathroom. At least there were no flying roaches. The shower doors fell on me while taking a shower. It was heavy, but I caught it and yelled for help to lift the doors that fell into the shower that blocked my way out. The cable TV had very poor reception. No shower water pressure on the 4th floor room and had to use the usual pail and dipper commonly used by Filipinos for bathing. We had delicious free breakfasts during our stay, and the front desks were always ready to assist with anything. We took two tricycles to the airport with no problem. You have to experience riding those practical vehicles while in the Philippines and you should ride a jeepney as well at least once. I will probably return if they can fix the issues I mentioned above.

Our family stayed here in Laoag Renzo Hotel ( Hotel Asuncion) for 1 night during our Ilocos trip. We stayed at two Junior Suite which accomodate us all. Rooms are clean but a little dark. Bathrooms are big and tidy. Beds are big enough and firm. Breakfast buffet is typical but good enough. Staffs are polite and kind.No elevator. We stayed on the fourth floor but the staffs are kind enough to assist us bring up and down our luggages. It was a good stay. 👍👍

Stayed 2 nights in their room for 2 people and I must say the current incarnation Hotel Asuncion is an improvement from the previous hotel Renzo. This budget hotel was well appointed IMO - larger room, a perfectly working fridge, table and chairs, plus a desk, hot water kettle, coffee mugs, real tall glasses, spoons, coasters and other small conveniences. AC worked perfectly and bath was just OK. A perfect antidote to sparsely appointed Pagudpud hotels. On the down side, we still needed 60 steps to climb to the 3rd floor, breakfast could be improved, and we did kill a couple of cockroaches. On the upside, they are finally building an elevator, yay! Location is right in the city very close to the public market and provincial capitol area.

Modern and good for overnight stay. Room is good for only 2 people and extra people will pay extra. The area is busy. Parking was a little bit confusing, because of the construction being done at the area.

The location of this hotel is strategically located. However, this hotel needs a FLIP because of the physical condition of the building itself. Hereunder are my unpleasant experiences during my stay at Hotel Asuncion: 1) Our room is infested with baby and adult cockroaches. They are all over the room. Crawling on the walls, on the floor, on the rest room sink. Obviously, the management of that hotel did not consider PEST CONTROL !!! 2) The rest room ceiling is dirty. It is apparent that the ceiling was not cleaned because of the dark spots and webs. 3) Molds on the tiles of the shower. 4) The restroom in their so called cafeteria/conference area is very unpleasant. I was worried because my girls and I might bring along cockroaches in our home because cockroaches are hitchhikers. I should say that is the first and last stay in that hotel.

My family and I stayed in this hotel 2 weeks ago. We occupied 3 rooms with 2 people each room. All rooms had musty old smell that never went away. We had to transfer from one room since the smell was too overwhelming. The new room was a bit better but still smelled. ALL rooms had cockroaches! When we got in and pulled back the bed cover there were small roaches on the bed. My sons legs had so many bug bites. We complained so they transfered them to another room. Our room was the same. There were big roaches in the bathroom coming out of the shower drains. The bed linens had stains and holes in them. We requested new pillows since the ones in the room had multiple stains on them. The airconditioner dripped water inside our room a lot that it created a rather large puddle on the floor. Our sons new room also had their floor flood ed with a/c water that it got their shoes wet and some clothes soaked. This place needs to be redone. We're getting a partial refund after we complained to our booking agent about our bad experience with this place. Please save yourself the headache and book somewhere else.

My Fiancee and a bunch of friends hired a big van and went on an epic road trip to the North of Luzon from Metro Manila We stayed a boarding house at the very tip of Luzon and then worked our way back home. We needed a place to stay overnight before our trip to Baguio, and when planning it out I discounted this hotel because of the lack of elevators and the need to take at least 4 levels of stairs. Well, I'm in my fiancees apartment in Marikina, and planning this trip again, and this time I forgot about the previous reviews I had read, and booked a 2 room stay for all of us at the Laoag Renzo Hotel based on location and price. We finished our day tour and were driving to this hotel at night, and had the hardest time finding it. We circled the blocks so many times, before we noticed it. Check-in was easy, but we were smuggling my fiancee's small dog in a carrying case, and this was the only destination we weren't sure if dogs were allowed. So immediately after check-in I suddenly realized that I had booked us at the hotel with the huge circular staircase and no elevator. I was the oldest member of our group, but I made it up 5-6 floors slowly. And as soon as we got in our respective rooms, my fiancee let her dog out of the case, and the porter arrived at the door just in time to see puppy peeing and pooping all over the floor. We cleaned it up immediately, and thought we were going to be asked to leave, but luckily that wasn't the case. The hotel is right in the center of town, so an easy walk to restaurants, coffee shops, all of that. It was just dreadful to have to mount the stairs after the end of a tiring day The next morning, we left puppy in the room, and went down to the free buffet breakfast. It was table and bench seating, but a pretty good selection of breakfast foods, fruits, coffee, juice, etc. Next stop, a transient house we rented for a night in Baguio, the best accommodations of our road trip.

The hotel is clean and cheap. We got it for only 2,150/night with free breakfast for the 3 of us. The only downside for me is that it doesn't have an elevator so you have to climb the stairs for you to go to your room, but its not that bad at all. It is also located near the tourist spots in the city. So it's a good deal.

Good things about this hotel: It is easy to locate and is accessible to grocery, market, restaurants. Room is clean and comfortable. They have a good signal. Food is good! Not so good about this hotel: There's no elevator in this hotel and our room is located at the 4th floor. We are carrying heavy bags and tired from the travel. No parking space, so we have to park at the sidewalk. It is recommendable though, because it is not that pricey yet they have provided good service over all.
