I do not recommend Aureum Palace after my second time visit with 20 people. There were problems upon problems since arrival. Out of almost 10 rooms we took, with one private executive suite and 9 other rooms, 3 rooms were checked in late from 2:30-3:00 pm. I talked with the front desk and the reply I got was, “but other rooms were on time”. “Check in time is at 2:00 pm”, “we’re just running late”. This is an absurd reply for a hotel like this. No, you do not charge customers with one of the highest rates across the beach and have the decency to reason us and not apologise. Also, they are VERY short on staff, the staff themselves complain about this point. Second, the housekeeping who added an “extra bed” in my room had no bed room. They literally placed a MATTRESS on the floor assuming I’d accept having to pay 40,000 MMK per night. Until I asked for the bed frame, they weren’t going to put one. Thirdly, we ordered french fries late one night, french fries in hotels are pricey, but I will attach a photo of what they actually served us. The respond we got was, we ran out of chips and these were the ones we received from our supplier. In another sense, it is not their fault to serve 4 cm long french fries and charge us hotel price. Fourthly, during breakfast, one of members weren’t sure if a dish contained meat as she is vegetarian. A waiter said no but upon asking another stuff, it was remarked as, it “may” have chicken stock powder. We were shocked and until we told them we will write a report and review, they decided to go back to the kitchen to confirm with the chef. Fifth, last day getting on the bus back to the airport, 5 of our bags were dislocated inside the hotel during the transport between the room and bus! It took us an extra 20 mins to wait for where our bags were. Our first stay at Feb was good but this time was very disappointing. I will not be coming back here or recommending. We all came here to rest, not to have to face all of this. Amongst the bad, the securities and gatekeepers and gardeners were very nice!

Awesome 4-nights at Aureum Palace. We greatly enjoyed hanging out on our large patio, watching the waves and sunsets. Very nice beach with powdery sand and fairly warm water. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good but selection was a little limited. Lunches and dinners were outstanding, especially the Italian dishes. Only negatives that prevented me giving a 5-star was the lack of a gym, unusable pool due to freezing water temperature and water pressure in the shower. Would still highly recommend.

It’s not my first stay at Aureum Hotel in Ngapali. This time I was just one night and it was wonderful. The hotel has good location and clean beach , the staff is very polite, friendly, experienced and ready to help at any time. Especially I want to say thank you to Ma Way Way for responsiveness, care and individual approach to each guest. Thank you to the waiter who serves me dinner. She was very attentive and experienced a lot. I guess her name is Emie ( sorry if I wrote with a mistake). The food was fresh and tasty. Mr Eric is an excellent and high-level Chef! I highly recommend trying lobster made by him. It’s delicious. Thanks for the rest as in paradise. Sincerely, Ms Tot Liliya

We spent a week at the Aureum Palace Spa and Resort in Ngapali and could not have been more happy with our stay. The location is great as you are close to the beach restaurants and there’s also many restaurants in walking distance or a short tuk tuk or ebike ride away. One of our favourite beach restaurants is the Original sunset view beach bar & restaurant and Two Brothers restaurant but to be honest we ate most of our meals at the resort. Chef Erik makes lovely dishes and being pescatarian did not limit our choices. We enjoyed the seafood BBQ buffet dinner as well the fresh homemade pasta buffet, both were really great and a very good value. These buffets are served beachside on the deck next to the pool and boat bar. The Buffett breakfast also had a nice variety! The entire staff are very friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. The manager checked in with us many times during our stay to be sure all was well. We booked an oceanfront cottage which is really worth it. You are steps from the beach! The cottages are very spacious and well designed, I loved the high ceilings. I had read other reviews before going to the resort and some people were complaining that the outdoor jacuzzi was dirty and hard to fill, the solution to this is to call house keeping and let them know you want to use the jacuzzi! They come and clean it, fill it and put nice flowers and candles all around. It was very nice! There’s a nice foot wash station in front of the cottage so you don’t trek sand all through your cottage. We did not have any issues with water pressure or temperatures. If you do have issues speak with staff and they will assist, there’s no point to not address it and then complain after the fact! My husband arranged a special dinner for my birthday and the staff (including the chefs) went over and above to make it a VERY special dinner. We enjoyed the executive spa package and the massages were great, as was my pedicure. They have a lovely large pool but we love the beach so we didn’t really spend much time around the pool. It was however well maintained. The beach area is well maintained and there’s plenty of loungers. The boat bar is a nice place to enjoy the sunset. The snooker table was fun and we also hired bicycles one day. The staff arranged ebikes for us to go check out the Lighthouse lookout. I really liked the fact they have a water refilling station in the lobby as we always travel with our refillable water bottles! Thanks to the entire staff, we will see you December 2020! It’s too bad I can only add 10 photos to the review because I have so many nice ones and it’s hard to narrow it to only ten! I will be creating a YouTube video with all of my photos and videos as well as a blog at Amanda Blogs Travel - look for it to see more shots from this nice resort.

We really enjoyed our 4 day stay there. Very relaxing after visiting great sites of Myanmar. Some elements of the rooms are a little old and worn but as a whole, it is fabulous. Mainly European tourists (French, German, Austrian, Portuguese). Lovely place!

A group of friends and I stopped in at the Aureum Palace Resort for happy hour and dinner. We had some delicious cocktails (2-4-1 in happy hour) in the boat bar and watched the sunset. For dinner we were moved to a beach front table overlooking the water. We ordered of the Rakhine traditional menu and couldn't have been happier. The food was easily the best food I've had since being in Myanmar. I would definitely recommend having a meal here to anyone even if they aren't staying at the hotel.
