My husband and I just returned from a ski trip in Yellowstone. We chose to tour the park on our skis towing sleds for just over 100 miles. We spent a lot of time on the groomed roads and one of the outfitters that stood out from the rest was Yellowstone Expeditions. Both the drivers/guides and the clients were pleasant and enthusiastic and also attentive to our presence on the roads. As our miles started to stack up, we wondered to ourselves about the possibility of finding a lift out of the park between Old Faithful and our rig in West Yellowstone so we thought let’s call Yellowstone Expeditions! Erica was SUPER helpful as was Masha and another young woman (whose name I didn’t catch!) in fitting us into their schedule on the final day of their clients trip which also coincided with the end of our trip. When Arden pulled up alongside us on the road, it was perfect timing and also allowed us to share a ride out with some really great people. It was fun to share stories and feel so well supported by complete strangers who’d gone out of their way to give us a hand on a physically demanding adventure. We would definitely recommend Yellowstone Expeditions based on their hospitality alone and will keep them in mind for future trips. Thank you!!!

Put it on your bucket list. Seriously! We came with expectations to see magnificent Yellowstone and wildlife in it best. It is all here and fantastic. But in addition, we found hearty, friendly people that wanted to share unforgettable experience with you. Here, in the middle of the park (one of few places) because of National Park stick restriction will save you 4 hours driving back and force from West Yellowstone. Knowledgeable guides will share with you places that otherwise stay unknown to most people visiting park.

I wanted to experience Yellowstone in the winter, and when I learned about Yellowstone Expeditions, I knew it was exactly right. Snow camping is an intimidating operation, and Yellowstone Expeditions offered a way to experience the backcountry of Yellowstone in the heart of winter, while still providing the comforts of delicious and hearty warm meals at the end of the day, heated huts and comfy beds to sleep in, great company by a wood fire, and even a cedar sauna, while seeing more animals than people every day (in Yellowstone!) and having some of the most serene cross country hikes ever in untracked pristine snow led by wonderful guides. This was an active and rustic trip and would not be for everyone, but as the other guests during our trip would indicate, it attracts good people who appreciate nature, have a sense of adventure, and like being active outdoors. During our time there were also two BBC cinematographers filming animals for a month. How cool is that? I'd love to go back, and my husband, who I can never convince to do a trip twice, has also said he'd love to. It was such a special experience. I only wish we'd been able to stay longer!

I can't stop glowing after my wife and I spend 4 days with Arden's crew at the Canyon Yurt Camp. First of all, the skiing was off the charts. We had fresh powder every day and got to ski into parts of the park nobody would ever see in the summer season. Secondly, the accommodations at the camp are a terrific winter experience. Sleeping in a cozy tent and eating and communing in a cozy yurt. After each day of skiing, my wife and I enjoyed the on-site sauna as well. Everything was perfect. But the best thing about this experience is the people. Arden is a Minnesotan who built this camp 37 years ago. He has the greatest work ethic, the greatest sense of humor and the greatest ability to tell a story of anyone I've ever met. Before we left, he became a personal hero. All the guides he hires are a combination of serious wilderness knowledge and amazing personality. Most of his guides this winter had hiked at least 2 if not 3 of the long trails in the US. They were amazing skiers and provided unbelievable perspectives on the park. We didn't want ot leave them. And then there's Connie, the cook. She sings cowboy tunes and celtic hymns and cooks up 3 squares a day and makes you feel at home every step of the way. This is the best group of people you could possibly hope to stay with for four days off the map. I would recommend this trip to anyone I know and I will come back. Once in a lifetime trip.
