A nice campground. Campsite close to each other. Bathroom clean. Was quit. Host nice and small store was decent. The area is nice was hoping to see some animals in camp but none. No complaints would stay here again.
We requested shade and were put in H273. Probably the most open spot they had. The tent was too hot to go in during the afternoon after the sun beat down all day. Right beside bathrooms. One night about midnight a group of college girls went in and stayed (to get warm I suppose) and giggled and talked for over an hour! There was no host due to Covid. At least they were open. Due to virus many campgrounds closed.
The campground was gorgeous with plenty of shade. Check in took a little while longer than it should, 25 minutes with no line. We booked 2 nights, after breakfast on our first night some ranger decided to dump the ashes from our fire into our Rubbermaid bin off CLEAN Dutch ovens, hadn’t even been used for food yet this trip, take down our hammock that was in regulations per the handout they left at the site, and most disturbingly went through our tents, mixed my clean clothes with my dirty.
We stayed in Yellowstone Park for 3 days at the end of September 2019. Madison campground was booked online. The road conditions were bad, so, we arrived at 4 pm instead of 11 am. We called to campgraound by phone and ask to keep our spot. When we arrived check-in was very fast. Our spot was ready but due we have 2 different reservations, nice gentelman proposed to take another spot and use it for all our stay. Campground was clean. There were a lot of wshrooms around. When you have RV this is not so important, but washrooms were clean. RV dump station was working. There were no any problems to fill water tank and to free grey and black water tanks. Even after night showfall when the temperature dropped to -2 the dump station was closed only at the morning and was reopen afternoon. Campground is very convinient located for daily trips to different parts of the park. Park roads were cleaned and sand was on some slippery spots. We have a lot of good time in Yellowstone park. Thanks Madison ground staffs and other rangers took care about it.…
Site was right beside the bathroom, well kept and clean. Site was great for camping, wood and ice available at the front gate. Sites are a little close together, but that’s only to be expected. Halfway between Norris and Old Faithful. Interesting Park Ranger talk on Supervolcanoes in the evening.
