Ask if A/C Is fixed before booking. It’s unfortunate because this is a REALLY beautiful historic hotel in the heart of downtown Cincinnati with a very nice breakfast buffet and even free wine and snacks at happy hour. The rooms are lovely and there are Lots of very nice common areas for socializing and hanging out but Unfortunately, the A/C issue is a deal breaker in the hot months. Would stay here in the winter, but never again in summer. Room was 80+ degrees even after we switched rooms. Maintenance guy came by and couldn’t even begin to fix the issue.

We spent 2 nights in town to catch a Reds game and see the city. Although entrance to hotel looks a bit rundown, the lobby and rooms are very nice. We had a very large suite with a really comfortable bed.

This hotel is in dire need of renovation. It was not as clean as I would like, but I try to be forgiving on that front because I know it's difficult to find staff. The carpets were stained and the walls were dinged up. The curtains in our room were sagging. The location was great, it was an easy walk to the football stadium and in a safe neighborhood with several high-end restaurants. The building has 12 floors and only 2 of the 6 elevators were working at any given time. We were on the 10th floor and every time an elevator would open up, it would be packed with people! When were leaving on Sunday morning, it took us 45 minutes to get in an elevator! My dad is in a wheelchair, so taking the stairs was not an option. The breakfast would have been good, but again, they were very understaffed and kept running out of food. On the first day, I had raisin bran crumbs for breakfast with warm milk and on the second day, I had cold sausage. The valet staff was friendly and efficient. I would not go back to this hotel.

Bottom Line: As a long time Honors member and frequent traveler, this hotel is not indicative of the Hilton standard. Rooms were not available until 6pm (check in at 3), no text/call notification, had to continuously engage from 3-6pm, with no estimated time of completion. Folks falling asleep in the lobby waiting on room. We missed the first hour of our concert waiting on room availability. Additionally, only 2/6 elevators were operational, so be prepared to wait 15 minutes to get in/out of your floor. This building is a hotel refurb, and it is clearly not yet ready for full guests. Understand staff shortages/covid, but please be transparent with your customers on issues impacting their stay in advance and/or do not take reservations. Lastly, we were charged for valet automatically without asking, had to get the charge removed. Asked for compensation on these issues and were told a cold 'sorry'. Staff were very non-committal to resolve problems. Hard pass!

Second Hilton I've stayed in where the front desk staff is aggressively rude. In this case, you're lucky if they even answer the phone! After 7 attempts to reach the front desk, I was greeted with silence. When I said, 'hello' to see if anyone was on the other side of the phone, I was answered with an abrupt 'yah?' After asking for towels (they have on-demand housekeeping and you can supposedly call down and ask for 'whatever you need to be delivered to your room'), was told 'you need to come down here.' Nothing that was said was particularly aggressive on its own, but the nastiness with which it was spit at me through the phone was. Staffing shortages aside, Hilton, you can do better. Especially at $400 a night.

Downtown rooms are expensive and the rooms here were a bit disgusting. The hallway to our room had popcorn and stains everywhere, on checkin and checkout( we checked in at 3pm and left at 9am). Housekeeping was on the floor walking through the popcorn and didn’t even vacuum. Rooms had stains on the walls and just overall grungy. Blinds didn’t close all the way so the room was bright all night long. sheets on the bed were inside out. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Stayed for 7 nights on a work trip. The setup is kind of strange, you need to go up an elevator to the second floor for the lobby of a combo Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites. The room was fine, the view was of an abandoned building across the street.

I wasn't too sure exactly how many stars to include in my rating since there were some pros and cons - and I'm not too sure that the pros outweighed the cons when you consider that we're in a downtown area with many choices for a hotel. Pros: The hotel is centrally located. It took us about 5 to 10 minutes to walk to the ball park from the hotel for the Rays/Reds series and there were many restaurants near the hotel. The room was quite large and clean. The AC worked great and the bed was extremely comfortable. The lady at the front desk had a smile on her face even though she was being inundated with questions from other guests, most commonly about their room being ready. She never faltered or swayed from her smile. When we checked out, we contacted valet in advance using the information on our valet ticket and our car was ready and waiting when we got downstairs. Cons: The hotel seems to be grossly understaffed. We checked in via the app and our room was not ready when we arrived, about 30 minutes before check-in time. They had run out of luggage tags since the entire area behind the front desk was filled with the luggage of guests who were unable to check into their room. A post-it was placed on our luggage and it was added to the group. Nothing secure about this in the least. My husband changed in the bathroom for the baseball game and we left. We received a text message over an hour and a half after check-in time stating that our room was ready. Although we returned to the hotel well after that since we had attended the ball game, I can judge by the luggage that was remaining behind the front desk that we were not the only ones who received a room so late. I understand that these are tough times and many businesses are grossly understaffed; however, this is a poor excuse. I had stayed at 2 hotels of the same brand (not Hilton) in 2 different states over the past few weeks and had no trouble getting into my room upon my arrival around check-in time (perhaps even a little earlier) and my room was impeccably clean in both. It is not exactly fair that you're expected to respect the check-out time as a customer (and are charged accordingly if you do not) but the hotel can seemingly take as long as they deem necessary to ready your room. If the hotel is understaffed, then they should not have rooms available that cannot be properly serviced. If they are pressured to sell out rooms to make money then they should ensure a reliable staff to clean those rooms in an appropriate amount of time. If this cannot be guaranteed, then a discount should be applied at check-out just as money would be taken if a guest checked out late. Just a thought. As stated in other reviews, there are 6 elevators for the building but only 2 or 3 seemed to be consistently working. For the most part, this was not an issue, but not exactly convenient when attempting to leave with your luggage from the 9th floor and have to wait several rounds in order for an elevator to open where there is room for you and your luggage. There was no breakfast the following morning. We learned from other guests that there was breakfast provided on the Homewood Suites side that Hampton Inn guests could use, but there was no sign dictating this anywhere on the Hampton Inn side, nor had this been communicated to us at any point during our stay via in person or the app. And finally, valet when we arrived was non-existent. We waited for several minutes until I walked into the valet area and saw 3 young men in there just chatting away and playing on phones. They immediately jumped to help as soon as I walked in and told them that I had a car waiting out front, but there was no reason for all 3 to be waiting inside and not monitoring the area in front of the hotel. I chose this hotel over the Residence Inn since it was closer to the Hard Rock Casino (and it was, indeed, a very cheap Uber ride), but I will not choose this hotel again. Too many cons to outweigh the pros.

My experience at this hotel could be considered “the perfect storm”. Although I utilized the virtual check-in on the app and selected a room prior to arriving at the hotel, I did not receive the virtual key. I tried to call the hotel multiple times and there was no answer. Upon arriving at the hotel and waiting for the one staff member on duty, I was told my room was not ready. I left my luggage and went to the baseball game my family was in town to attend and when I returned 5 1/2 hours later, the room was still not cleaned. I was then transferred to another room where the bathroom light was burnt out. It took two calls and a visit to the front desk during the span of two hours before the issue was resolved. Only two of the six elevators were in working condition during our stay which meant waiting 10+ minutes when going to or from our room in the 10th floor. Would not recommend this hotel until some major improvements are made and more staff is hired!

Went for Braves & reds game. Good location downtown. Able to walk to the stadium no problem. Check in and out took forever, & our room wasn’t even ready. Been booked for over a month. The elevator wait was forever as well.
