Prince Waikiki is often celebrated for its serene atmosphere, modern decor, and breathtaking ocean views, which many guests find conducive to a tranquil experience. The hotel's prime location garners praise for its easy access to beaches and local attractions. While the spacious, clean rooms are well-regarded, some visitors mention noise as a detractor. The attentive and professional staff, along with top-notch amenities, contribute to the hotel's appeal, although some travelers feel the value is diminished by additional fees and pricing concerns.

We enjoyed our stay at Prince Waikiki.

There are a few things that could be improved, such as getting a better introduction to the area by staff at checkin and the need for more affordable food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner would be great. The Honolulu Coffee company doesn’t offer much in terms of a cooked breakfast and they don’t stay open late for dessert. Sails has nice food but is too expensive. The pool bar offered limited options and was also expensive. And the sushi restaurant wasn’t food we are interested in ie it offers mostly raw meats. A diner or restaurant that offers a variety of meal options/deals for guests would have suited us better. A mix of healthy meals and takeout options. There are limited external dining options around the hotel compared to further down along the Waikiki strip.

That being said, there were alot of positives for staying here. We enjoyed the cleanliness of this hotel, how big the rooms and bathrooms are, the views of the Ala Moana beach, the ocean, and the boats from the right end of the 22nd floor (Diamond Head tower), the free slippers, the free aluminium water bottles and the chilled filtered refill water stations, the electric sheer and blockout blinds, and the mattress was comfortable (medium feel). Staff actually listened to our requests which made our honeymoon very comfortable and enjoyable for our 6 night stay. Although it is at the far Ala Moana end of the Honolulu strip, we liked that it was quiet and only a short 15min walk to get to the Ala Moana shopping centre, Ala Moana park/beaches and to our favourite beach, Kahanamoku Beach.

I did a lot of research on hotels in the area before choosing the Prince Waikiki. I loved the location at the end of Waikiki Beach, and the view from my 11th floor room was beautiful. My room was spacious and very clean, and I loved being able to open the windows to hear the sound of the ocean waves. Every employee in every capacity made me feel special. The checkin process was smooth and unlike what I have experienced at other large hotels. The housekeeping staff was so friendly and answered my questions about how to open and close the automated blinds in my room. The concierge employees were very kind to me and helped me with finding whatever I needed in the area. The valet staff always made me feel welcome whenever I left or returned to the hotel.

I was happy with the self-parking garage attached to the hotel and never had a problem finding a parking spot. As far as restaurant choices close by, there is a Red Lobster and McDonald’s about a block or less away, and the San Paolo had the best pizza I have ever eaten (next door to Red Lobster). I didn’t eat at the hotel, but I did go to the bar at the hotel pool, and my drink was great.

Other than being a beautiful, very clean hotel with a great location, the most outstanding thing about the Prince Waikiki is its employees and how they treated all guests. I would never stay anywhere else.

This was the best holiday I have ever had. The room was recently renovated and extremely clean. The Prince offers 2 queen beds in the rooms where a lot of hotels in Waikiki only offered 2 double beds. The Prince is close enough to the action without being in a busy area, so our sleeps were never interrupted by noise. The view of the ocean was outstanding and the housekeeping staff were amazing- they would rearrange my daughter’s stuffed animals each day which was a highlight for her! The rooms are renovated including the bathroom- a lot of hotels in Waikiki have older style bathrooms which wasn’t ideal. The bathroom also includes a separate shower rather than having a combined shower/bath. We were 5 mins from the Ala Moana centre and would regularly go there for lunch and dinner, or you could walk to the main part of Waikiki in 15 mins and have dinner there (near the Cheesecake Factory). The cafe downstairs sells cappuccinos that are close to Australian style coffees which was handy, however they were expensive (worth it though). All in all it was an amazing hotel and we’ll definitely be back!

My family stayed 5 nights here in August and we were very pleased with this hotel. It has a very chill vibe and family friendly feel to it.

All rooms are facing the harbor/ocean so you relax and enjoy the view. The hotel is very centrally located. Beach access is a few minutes away (Hilton Hawaiian is next door). Ala Moana mall is walking distance as well. We didn’t mind walking and went to the heart of Waikīkī and it’s about 20ish minutes walk each way.

Hotel parking is $45/night but the Ilikai Marina condo parkade charges $28/night which is the building around the corner.

My kids enjoyed the pool especially since it’s quiet during the morning. Would highly recommend to anyone.

With all the hotels in the Waikīkī area, it was a bit overwhelming to pick the right hotel for our 20th anniversary trip. I chose Prince because of the quiet location and reviews. Of importance to me were all the negative stories from nearby hotels regarding lack of pool and beach seating to accommodate guests. This was never an issue at Prince.

The staff was absolutely amazing! During our entire stay, there wasn’t even a slight single negative interaction. All smiled and were helpful. A special shoutout to the ladies on the pool deck that routinely made their rounds ensuring we were ok and didn’t need anything. We chose to book a cabana one day ($60 plus a $100 food and beverage minimum) and really enjoyed it.

Upon check-in, we were informed that ocean view rooms were available for upgrade for a cost of $25/night. While I’ve been upgraded for free at other hotels, I thought the price was very reasonable. The gifted bag and reusable water bottles were a nice touch.

We ate at 100 sails and Katsumidori, great food options and service. Also, the coffee bar and convenience store in the lobby came in handy.

If there is one suggestion that I would give, it’s that sun umbrellas on the pool desk would be awesome.

I stayed here for the first time in 4 years during the Honolulu Marathon.

I booked through the official website, and the room rate was nearly double what it was before COVID, but it's understandable considering the current situation and the event.

I took Uber from the airport, and it's easy to find as it's a famous hotel with a trolley stop.

When I arrived, the bellboy came right up to me, which was nice.

There was a Japanese person at the front desk, so it was stress-free.

I requested early check-in, and I was able to check in early as I requested.

The room on the 29th floor had an ocean view of the harbor, and I could see the Hilton fireworks on Friday night very well from my room.

The room was spacious and clean.

The shower booth with bathtub and the toilet are separate.

There were plenty of towels, bathrobes were included, and the slippers were of good quality.

There were a coffee maker and kettle, and many USB ports, so I had no complaints.

The mineral water included in the resort fee is refilled in an aluminum bottle.

The pool has a jacuzzi, and it's good that it's not crowded.
One of the elevators had a problem with the button for the floor I was staying at, but other than that I have no complaints and think it's a good hotel.

I stayed in one of the rooms with an ocean view and the view was spectacular. Being able to see the ocean at all times is a wonderful and relaxing experience.

The hotel and rooms are very clean. The rooms are a decent size. In the bathroom, the shower, tub, and toilet are separated. The toilets also have a bidet installed which is great. The windows can open so you can feel more connected to the outside ocean view. Reusable water bottles are also provided and you can refill them at refill stations.

There are easily accessible restaurants in the hotel. Gift shops and a convenience store are located in the lobby so you can pick up anything you may have forgotten to pack.

The Ala Moana mall is a 12 minute walk away. There are also several rental car options next door or across the street. You can also talk to the concierge for info about the trolleys that run through the city.

I tried the Naio Bliss spa massage that they offered and I would not recommend. As other reviewers have said, it is a hotel room that they converted to use for massages. The room has 2 massage tables to allow for couples massages. I left the experience feeling a bit disorientated. For the $330 price it was definitely not worth it. In contrast, I also went to the Aulani Disney resort’s Laniwai spa. And for the same price of $330, the experience and massage was transformative. I left the massage feeling extremely relaxed and refreshed. If you are looking to splurge for a spa experience then I would definitely recommend Laniwai.

This hotel was as I expected it to be based on reviews and images. I asked for and was given a room with a King bed on a lower floor. My room was 516 which was on the same level as the gym and pool making it very convenient for me. Because my room was on the first level of accommodation (there's 28 floors), I had a full length balcony which was a nice surprise given that all the floors above mine didn't have balconies, just windows that open out for fresh air.

The room was spacious, bright and airy just like the images on the website and because I booked direct with the hotel I was able to take advantage of their offer of 30% off the room rate for a 5+ night stay.

The bedding was very comfortable, towels were fluffy and the room was very clean and well maintained. Bathrobes and slippers were supplied along with shampoo, conditioner, body cream and soap. Two bottles of water were delivered every day when the room was serviced.

The TV had plenty of channels and I was able to stream Netflix using my account.

Downstairs there is a coffee shop that served the best coffee I had during my time in Honolulu - there was a small selection of bakery items, juice, yogurt and granola for a simple light breakfast and the staff members were friendly and efficient.

I can't speak highly enough about the hotel's staff. Each member that I dealt with went out of their way to be friendly, professional and helpful.

The location of the hotel is convenient - the Ala Moana shopping centre is a short walk away and the Hilton Village another short walk in the opposite direction. While the Hilton Village has plenty of options for dining and for hanging out at the beach or lagoon, I had other family members staying there who all agreed Prince Waikiki was way better - my room was bigger, brighter and more modern.

The views from my room and balcony were of a partial view of the pool area, full view of the marina, ocean and Ala Moana beach and beyond. Sunset was particularly pleasant to watch each day from my balcony.

If I was to go back to Hawaii, I would stay at Prince Waikiki for sure.

We suddenly decided to go to Hawaii, and this was our first trip to Hawaii in over 10 years.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, this was our first trip abroad in 4 and a half years, so we were really looking forward to this trip.

When we're abroad, we often stay at the Hyatt Regency, but this time,

we stayed at the Prince Waikiki for the first time (4 nights).

Prices in Hawaii right now are so high, so we chose the club room, even though it was a little more expensive, so we could casually enjoy a light meal and drink.

This was a great choice, as we could use the club lounge anytime from 7am to 8pm,

which was very convenient.

In the club lounge, you can enjoy breakfast in the morning, a light meal at lunch, and a light (quite impressive?) meal in the evening. You can also drink coffee, juice, two types of beer, wine (white and red), and sparkling wine for free at any time.

There were also snacks and tropical canned juices, which are quite expensive in town,

which was very much appreciated.

The club room rooms are on the second or third floor from the top, and we stayed on the 31st floor.

The view from our room was beautiful, with both the harbor and the sunset spreading out in front of us as the windows were all glass.
If you stay in a club room, you can also enjoy a buffet breakfast at the restaurant on the second floor, so it was nice to be able to choose whether to have breakfast in the club lounge or at the restaurant.
There was a biki station right next to the hotel, so it was convenient to ride a biki, and we could also walk to Ala Moana, so I felt the location was very convenient.
I would definitely like to stay here again.
Thank you very much for your help.

Aloha,
I highly recommend Prince Waikīkī. They are BEYOND amazing. Their customer service is outstanding. The rooms has mini refrigerators that work amazing. They give you free bottled water and they have water refill stations and ice machines everywhere. The rooms are sound proof you can’t hear ANYTHING from other rooms . The beds are so comfortable. They make your bed and clean the room daily.
The infinity pool is such an amazing experience. The ocean view is so beautiful because you look out to the harbor and magic island. I enjoyed watching the surfers. You can open the big windows and have fresh air in your room.
Please do not hesitate to pick this hotel. They are the BEST hotel you will ever go to .

I believe the club access is for the higher suite rooms. You may be able to gain club access if you pay an extra fee from other lower rooms. The club breakfast is ok but the wider selection is at the 3rd floor buffet. It’s decent but I’ve experienced larger spreads. Hilton and Sheraton, a quick walk down Kalakaua, have these extensive spreads. Moana Surfrider has a top notch brunch as does the Halekulani. It’s a little pricey but you’re paying for a higher quality meal.

The Prince Waikiki uses Malie products (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) see the Malie for more information on these organic Hawaiian products. Our hair did fine. Hawaii is humid which might impact your hair.
